@Dezzy I know everybody and their dog loved the open world design of BoTW, but I personally did not like it. I find open world games overwhelm me with too much to do and no real direction of where to go and what to do. I really liked the NON-open world areas of Pokemon Sword and Shield. The open area in Sword and Shield are annoying to me.
The second one that showed up in the video.... I swear to God I thought he was wearing a mask for a while until I realized that was actually his face. I mean holy crap. He's just straight up spooky looking.
I was going to wait and buy this for myself for Christmas, but I ended up breaking down and purchasing it last night to play. I bought the digital download version, so I still might buy the physical version for my Christmas, and just keep it sealed. I got the Sword version.
@Severian The earth (just like every planet in the universe) is in a constant state of change. At one point, there was only one continent on the face of the earth. Beyond that, I'm an old fart, and I've seen my share of this bs. Back in the 80s, we were told that there was a whole in our atmosphere, and that in the future we would all burn to death because of it getting larger and larger. Guess what. The whole repaired itself because the Earth is always in a constant state of change.
The same people that push these narratives of humans killing the planet are the exact same people that make billions off of it. Al Gore tells everybody to save the planet by using less energy and not to eat beef because the cow farts kill the planet, and he does this while living in a massive mansion that uses more energy than a small neighborhood and eats cheeseburgers.
It's called hypocrisy, and when you have been on this planet long enough to see the NEXT hoax come along, you'll be just like my generation that recycled newspapers, cans, and bottles all the while preparing for an emanate demise that never came.
Every generation that comes along has their "cause". Every... single... one. Politicians and businessmen take advantage of each new generation because, like it or not, young minds are easily manipulated.
Oh good lord. I really need to buy stock in some global change companies. This trillion dollar hoax based on fear mongering is making billionaires out of "believers".
Incoming internet defenders to attack me for have a differing point of view in 5... 4... 3... 2...
Somehow this has got to be related to global change. It's the soccer mom SUV's that is ultimately bricking Switches everywhere! LOL just kidding people.
I'll be buying it simply because it's the first true Pokemon game on the Switch. I hope it turns out to be a good game that I enjoy, but either way, it's going in my collection.
Take a wild guess which one I will be buying for myself for Christmas out of Death Stranding and Luigi's Mansion 3.
SPOILER Luigi's Mansion 3
Death Stranding looks great, but in the end, Luigi's Mansion 3 is a game that I would rather have in my permanent collection. I can wait a few years and pick up Death Stranding for $20 or less at Gamestop.
It honestly doesn't look bad from the video they had out for the kickstarter (above). I am mildly interested. I think it just needs a bit more polish and a little more flare to the art to push it over the edge.
I'm surprised at this point that no company has come out with a standalone card backup device yet. It's just a micro SD card after all. Put a couple micro SD slots on a small device with one button. Put your Nintendo's SD card in the main slot, put another one in the backup slot, push the button, and it just copies the contents of the main to the backup. Walla! Problem solved.
Granted, you can do this yourself with any computer that has a SD card reader, but you would think some company in China would have made this standalone "Nintendo Switch Backup Device" for $19.99 by now. Companies are getting lazy, and leaving money on the table here.
I pre-ordered this game because it's The Witcher 3, so yeah of course it was a day one purchase.
The game is very good in handheld mode, but when you play it in docked mode, you can definitely see the graphical downgrade to get it to work on the Switch. It's still definitely worth the purchase if not for anything else, but the ability to play The Witcher III on the go.
If you own a PS4 and plan to play this game most of the time at home, I would suggest buying it on that platform. If you intend to play this game away from home, it's worth picking up on the Switch.
What is this Fortnite you speak of? I know of no such thing. Now if you said, Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Stardew Valley, The Witcher III, or any number of actual good games on the market, I would know exactly what you are talking about. But, as for this battle arena game where people bunny hop around an ever shrinking world shooting each other, I have no idea what that is at all.
I love themed controllers, but if it's not an official Nintendo Pro Controller made by Nintendo, I'm out. The Nintendo Pro controller is hands down better than any 3rd party wireless controller I have bought for my Switch.
Why Nintendo refuses to make themed Pro controllers is beyond me.
@Kilroy Here's the question I have though... Why do I need it on my phone when I have Markio Kart 8 on my Switch? Is there an actual reason other than just having the cool new thing? Am I missing anything?
@LJChronx I love how everybody today is all for not triggering anybody about their sex, race, or economical status, but when it comes to their weight, they are perfectly ok with being abusively toxic as possible. Way to go toxic piece of dung.
@Ooyah No. You should imagine again. 3X is big, but it's not obese big. As funny as you may find it that some people are over 300 pounds and live perfectly normal lives, it's a fact of today's society. There are more obese people today than non-obese.
It's hilarious watching people get all twisted over this considering that the art style that was used in Cuphead was nothing new. The art style that Cuphead used is a very, very old cartoon style used back in the 1920s.
"Steamboat Willie" was an animated short created by Disney in 1928. Look it up, and stop being ridiculous.
I honestly don't see this as a bad thing for Stardew Valley and it's creator seeing as the creator is now also the sole publisher of the game.
ConcernedApe made an amazingly fantatstic game in Stardew Valley. I have put more hours in to that game on my Switch than I have probably any other game I own on that platform. If he wants to self publish, more power to him. I look forward to any new games he brings to us in the future.
Maybe it's just because I'm an older gamer (46), but I 100% prefer physical copies of games (and no download code in the case) over digital purchases. I think that the younger customer base that prefer buying digital copies will understand why us older folks like physical copies when twenty years from now when their favorite old games no longer are available because support for XYZ console was stopped at some point.
Yes. Gamestop has some bad management practices, and it needs to be reorganized. The problem is that the more we see these kinds of stores go away, the more we push the industry towards all digital game sales.
The only reason we still have the full library of games from systems like NES, SNES, GB, GG, Genesis, etc today is because of physical media. With out the physical games, most of these libraries would be completely gone.
One prime example is the Ducktales game that got pulled from all digital formats recently because of licensing ending. That game is gone now unless you had purchased it before it was taken off all digital stores.
The clam shell has been a staple of the 3DS/2DS for many, many years, and it works! Why they chose to make their NEW mobile handheld console not have a clam shell is just completely bizarre.
They could have crammed a 2DS in to the top part, and made the Switch Lite be backwards compatible with the full line of 3DS/2DS library. Then the Switch Lite would have been a must buy. As it is right now, the Switch Lite is a meh at best.
