Sonic Racing Crossworlds finally went on sale on Steam, so I tried out the game last night with some Grand Prixs and Time Trials. For playing on the lowest speed for the former, I really enjoyed what I played so far! The real meat of the game for me will probably be online, though, so I can’t quite make a decision on whether or not the game is worth its full 70 usd price tag.

Aside from that, I’ll be doing some achievement hunting in River City Girls.

Continuing my Sea of Stars playthrough on Switch. I forgot how fun the combat in this game was! Seraii just joined my team, and I defeated Romaya.

On Steam, I just snagged the ultimate edition of KOF 15, Half Genie Hero, River City Girls 2 (with the Double Dragon DLC), and Absolum. I’ll be playing those as well.

Meh… let me know when Pac Man’s coming

@UltimateOtaku91 Well, you’re free to disagree with me, of course, but I personally think that is ridiculous. A remake of a game from 20+ years ago shouldn’t really count as an “original” game. It’s one reason why I think the Game Awards are a joke

@Tyranexx No problem! I don’t play RPGs nearly as much as I used to back in high school. I’m in college now and most of the RPGs I get into are on the shorter side, like Paper Mario: TTYD

I understand why E33 would be game of the year, but Silksong managed to cause both the Eshop AND Steam’s payment servers to crash.

I’d still be 100 percent cool with either game winning though. I’d like to play Clair Obscure, when I have the free time for it.

PS, why is the Mortal Kombat Collection nominated for best fighting? Aren’t those games like 20+ years old??

@Tyranexx I have the originals, but I’ve never gotten around to them just yet. Still, I’d recommend the OGs first, just so you know what you’re getting into in terms of lore. The remake is also much longer than its original, so the og would be better if you’re low on free time.

That’s awesome! Hopefully this could lead to the second, and even third game, getting more faithful translation jobs

Continuing my first, and hopefully only, Steel Soul run in Silksong. I also would like to start a new game in my backlog this weekend… maybe City of the Wolves or Guacamelee.

Trying to get the Speed Completion achievement in Silksong. Currently in act 2 about 12 hours in.

Continuing with Silksong. I don’t know whether to beat the final boss and start a new 100 percent or speedrun playthrough, or collect everything I can to still try to get 100 percent.

I’ll also continue to grind Abyss Mode in Rivals of Aether. The only characters I have left to get to level 10 (outside of Workshop characters) are Clairen, Etalus, Ori, and Shovel Knight.

@KidSparta My favorite part of the series was when Ash and Isabelle yelled “These are our New Horizons” as they defeated Tom Nook using the power of their Pokémon

Why would I pay $70 for two emulated Wii games when I can emulate them myself?

I’ll definitely play more Silksong… I did “finish” the game, but I’m exploring a lot more to get into Act 3 and finding more bosses and stuff I missed. I’ll also try out the recent Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 rerelease on Steam.

I’m not surprised by this. Sonic isn’t anywhere near as popular in Japan as it is in the west.

@OorWullie I do like how this game looks, and I plan on trying it out eventually since I like Dotemu. That being said, I’m getting a little tired of every game (especially indies) trying to ride off of Balatro’s success and be a rougelite or have elements from them. Heck, the new Donkey Kong game now has a rougelike mode with its DLC!

I have nothing wrong with simple, straightforward arcade action like Shredder’s Revenge. Again, I’m excited to try this game, but I just feel like the indie games market is becoming really oversatirated with rougelikes. And this is coming from someone who likes Dead Cells, Enter the Gungeon, and especially Balatro

I played Bomb Rush Cyberfunk when it came out and enjoyed it a lot! I will be keeping my eyes on this one for sure.

@MathByThePixel you know, why does everything have to be a rougelike or have rougelike elements? It feels like that’s what a lot of indie studios are putting out these days…

@Vyacheslav333 if I recall correctly, you can play Dreamcast versions of some games like MvC2 and Vampire Savior on Fightcade… I may need to double check that. It’s been a while since I’ve used it bc of school and other games

@Vyacheslav333 While you can play a lot of old fighting games via Fightcade, it is nice to have official collections.

I have Fightcade myself on my laptop. Very easy to install and use!

@Vyacheslav333 Even Skullgirls fell off with their DLC and everything that came after it. Aside from Under Night 2 and City of the Wolves (I really like SNK / Fatal Fury), I only really play old fighting games now.

Two Wii rereleases with minimal new content for the price of one modern AAA game.

For the same price (before tax), you could get Hollow Knight: Silksong, UFO 50, and all five mainline Shovel Knight games via Treasure Trove.

The answer is clear as day!

@Riverlution as someone who did play the OG Hollow Knight, I’m not having too much trouble so far. I just beat Moorwing last night. Still, I don’t care too much about this, as long as folks are still having fun
