I’ve already expressed my thoughts on the censorship / type A and B thing, so I’ll just say that it’s so nice knowing the actual creators agree that this is silly.
I wasn’t expecting them to be so profound about it, though
I would like to play Link’s Awakening first before getting Echoes of Wisdom. I want to finish at least one traditional 2D Zelda game just so I know what I’m getting into gameplay wise.
Other than that, I’ll be playing with the new DLC for Shredder’s Revenge, as well as doing some achievement / outfit hunting in Pizza Tower.
@the_beaver I understand where you’re coming from, but I just think the censorship is very disrespectful to Toriyama. And I agree with you, the game does look very good, and that’s coming from someone who isn’t as big of a fan of this “HD-2D” style Square Enix has been doing to a lot of their more recent titles(with the exception of Octopath, obviously!). However, all of the discourse surrounding this game, including stuff that is not censorship, have really soured my interest in the DQIII remake, and that’s a huge shame because it was the only thing I was asking for going into the June Direct. I initially preordered it, but I cancelled it and am now thinking about getting a used copy later next year, after playing the original, of course.
@DripDropCop146 also, outside of character designs, they changed the color of the trolls’ lips to be not pink anymore, likely due to its resemblance to a certain demographic
@DripDropCop146 a lot of character designs have been toned down compared to the original versions, especially the females. For instance, the fem warrior has these weird looking shorts covering her waist region. There should be images out there comparing the designs for the remake vs the original, but that is the most notable example
I’m currently trying to get all P- Ranks as The Noise in Pizza Tower. Currently on floor 3. I also picked up a copy of the Link’s Awakening Remake yesterday. I might play that before getting Echoes of Wisdom.
I downloaded Pizza Tower on my Switch the day of the direct! It’s fun playing it on a bigger screen. I got up to the fourth floor, with all secrets, treasures, and toppins so far. In case you all didn’t know, I’ve already played this game quite a few times on my laptop.
I’ll also get the Castlevania Dominus Collection, as well as take advantage of some sales going on right now, like the Metal Gear collection and Ultimate MvC 3, the latter on my Xbox.
Not quite interested in Strive (I already have the OG and Accent Core Plus R on Switch), but I am aware of how popular this game is among new players. Happy for those who get the opportunity to give this one a whirl.
I really liked this presentation! I kept my expectations low and only asked for an official MvC collection release date, so I was very surprised when I saw that the digital versions were coming in A FEW WEEKS! I suppose I will just have to double dip on this one, as I’ve already had the physical version preordered for a few months now.
Everything aside from that was a bonus. Sea of Stars DLC, Suikoden 1 and 2 remasters, ANOTHER Capcom Fighting Collection with Capcom vs SNK 2, Trails in the Sky remake, and PIZZA TOWER SWITCH PORT SHADOW DROP!! I think Nintendo should combine Partner and Indie showcases into one show more often. This was great! 9/10
@Samalik Knowing modern Capcom, it very likely will be. I know some stuff in the first collection is censored, but I haven’t played the games quite enough to notice everything that was changed. After the MvC and Fighting 2 Collections drop, those will probably be the final new things I purchase from Capcom.
Yeah, censorship sucks (even as a fundamental concept) but I’ve been longing for ways to play Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Capcom Vs SNK 2 for so long that I can’t boycott these releases, I’m even double dipping on the MvC one and getting both digital and physical copies for preservation purposes
I’m really trying to keep my expectations low here, but a two-in-one direct is insane! I would love to see an official release date for the MvC Collection
I’m going to try to make more progress in a few games I’ve been chipping away at. In Vernal Edge, I’m trying to explore different islands to see where I need to go or what to do next. I recall exploring the debris island and getting stuck on a fight. I would also like to play a few more missions in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit.
In SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos, I got the good endings for Ken Masters and Ryo Sakazaki, the latter on my first try, surprisingly!
And on Xbox, continuing with Sonic Adventure 2. I started the dark story and played up to Security Hall.
I’ve been playing Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (DS version) via Delta this week, mainly the Adventure Tours campaign mode. It was likely due to the Olympics being on at the time I started, but the game is still just as good as I remember! The worlds (and their themes) are fun and memorable, plus the writing is fairly decent, nothing too over the top. I still have 2 more Snow Spirits to save.
I also started Super Mario RPG last weekend and got the first of the seven stars. Mallow is such a funny, cute lil guy! I hope to get the second star this week.
Other than that, I’ll be continuing my DOOM playthrough, as well as attempting to hone my skills as Ken (or Ryu) in SvC Chaos.
Fantastic news!! Tango deserves to stay in business with all of the hits they’ve made. Hopefully this will lead to Hi Fi Rush being on the Switch’s successor in the future
@somnambulance Honestly, outside of remakes and post launch update content, this year has been so mid so far that older games are doing the work for me. Hopefully that changes when Antonblast comes out in the fall
This week, I finally beat all eight chapters of The Thousand Year Door. Such an awesome game, I’ll definitely do another playthrough sometime this year! I’m now going to start Super Mario RPG for my next Mario RPG.
In SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos, I got the good ending as Terry! I’m going to try to get Ken or Ryu’s ending next.
Lastly on Switch, I downloaded the new versions of DOOM and DOOM II. Got up to E1M5 in the first game with the newly remixed soundtrack.
On Xbox, I started Sonic Adventure 2. I played up to the part where Tails began looking for Eggman’s secret base in the desert. I’m loving the game so far, definitely better than Adventure 1 gameplay wise.
@LadyCharlie What if you have ONLY 1 of the games purchased? For instance, I have only DOOM (93), so will I get the upgraded versions of both DOOM 93 AND DOOM II?
This week, I beat ALL stories in Sonic Adventure on my Xbox! I enjoyed all of the stories, but E-102 Gamma’s was easily my favorite. I would like to start up Sonic Adventure 2 this weekend, either on Xbox as well, or on my laptop with some graphical upgrade mods installed. It would be a good way to prepare myself for Sonic X Shadow Generations in the fall.
Other than that, I am continuing chapter 6 in The Thousand Year Door, and I would like to make more progress in Dragon Quest III.
I think you guys should have worded the question regarding the quality of Switch Online better. When you say “Nintendo Switch Online”, do you mean with the Expansion Pass or JUST the base subscription? Because I am subscribed to the base subscription, as I think it’s a good deal, but I don’t think I’ll ever sub to the expansion
I’ll be spending most of my time this weekend playing SNK Vs Capcom: SVC Chaos. I wouldn’t call myself good at fighting games (other than Skullgirls), but I’ve been interested in this game for quite some time and would like to be better at it, especially since it has Metal Slug representation (a franchise I am very fond of) with Mars People. I’m starting with Terry, and I would like to get all of the endings. It will be a long, fun challenge!
On the side, I’ll be continuing chapter 6 in The Thousand Year Door, and continuing my journey in Dragon Quest III. I have opened Sea of Stars within the past week, but I don’t know where to go next after meeting the pirate crew at Brisk. I suppose I’ll just rely on a guide for that somewhere.
@Vyacheslav333 I do own the first game digitally, so I would like to play that first so I know what I’m getting into lore wise. I think there are physical versions of that game for Switch as well, so I’ll maybe get one in the distant future…
I don’t know, man, there’s just something so nice about owning a tangible cartridge!
These past few days have been pretty fun! I took huge advantage of some Amazon prime day deals this week. I got the following games:
Mario and Rabbids (BOTH original game and Sparks of Hope) Under Night in Birth 2 The King of Fighters XIII: Global Match Persona 5 Tactica Dragon Quest 1-3 (PlayAsia version)
And along with those games, I also got an 8 Bit Do arcade stick for $10 less! I’ve been testing it out with Pac Man via Museum+, Skullgirls 2nd Encore , and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. It’s working very nicely! I plan to try some more arcade-esque games with it this week.
On Sunday, we are actually going to visit my grandma after not going last week due to inclement weather. I plan to get back into Sea of Stars on the car ride.
Currently on Chapter 6 in The Thousand Year Door. I beat chapters 4 and 5 this week, and I’ve enjoyed them much more than Chapter 3! Excited to see what comes next.
I will be visiting my grandma on Sunday, so I’ll maybe play Sea of Stars or start up the original Dragon Quest III on the car ride.

No

Re: Bayonetta Star Jennifer Hale On The SAG-AFTRA Strikes: "AI Is Coming For Us All"
