Good night, some of us need to chill. I would agree that if any game justifies the $70 price tag, this is it, but the game still won’t be for everyone-the original certainly wasn’t! I’ll be picking it up day one, but if it doesn’t catch your fancy, it doesn’t. There are plenty of great games out there that I personally never clicked with (Hollow Knight, for example), and so what? Different games attract different people.
@rjejr You can change button mapping for controllers pretty easily for any game if you take the time to button swap and save the preset in the menu. You just have to be willing for whatever button you map A to to also be the select button lol.
Mouse games are fun, 2v2 is excellent, and the camera really does add a lot to gameplay. Seeing people’s reactions is hilarious. (Bought a webcam off Amazon, $50 for the Nintendo one is absurd). That being said, carnival coaster is very similar to the raft mode in Super Mario Party (albeit with better games), and 2v2 and Frenzy feel like they should’ve just been in the game from the start, so I gave it a 7/10 overall.
Haven’t noticed as I’ve been playing mostly docked. However, the joy-con 2 batteries seem to last…forever? I’ve been playing for almost ten hours docked and they’re still showing full battery on the menu after I charged them initially
The article on Nintendo Today also mentions that the Joy-Con 2 charging grip will have back buttons as well, which I believe is new information? New to me at least
@BlueMonk while I appreciate the effort into the Halo CE remaster, I will agree it doesn’t quite feel the same as the original. Halo 2 on the other hand, the remaster/remake is absolutely gorgeous.
If it won’t be complete, it’ll probably be something like the steam release, where they start with one game and add the rest over time as they finish them. While it can be frustrating to not have them all at the start, it’s nice because it means they will continue to work on support and optimization for all of the games in the collection over that timeframe.
Hmmm…that description doesn’t reveal much. It could be totally accurate to the series or go in a totally different direction. Glad there’s confirmation of Ganon and Impa though, and shooting in NZ is also a positive sign for a great high fantasy movie. Not sure about the trilogy idea.
This sounds good, but this article leaves out that GameStop is also now charging above MSRP for Pokémon products, and, according to some employees, may be buying from sources other than Pokémon and its distributors.
@vyacheslav333 you can play it however you want, including the analog sticks, but as someone who played both the original on PS2 and the Switch remaster, the touch controls are pretty great, especially for the digging sequences where you don’t have a lot of time. The motion controls are honestly pretty fun too, but they get hard to use as you get more abilities later in the game.
As a collector, it’s painful to open packs when you’re effectively losing $20 just to do so, but also frustrating when you want some of the cool cards from the set that aren’t the “chase.” As a player, we’re blessed that the competitively viable cards in this set happen to be commons and uncommons.
I’m kind of surprised by the amount of people that didn’t expect this…Nintendo has done backwards compatibility for every handheld since the Gameboy Color and every console where it was possible (except maybe the SNES). The only reason it was dropped for Wii U -> Switch was the change from disc to cartridge.
@UltimateOtaku91 the cards in this game are entirely separate from the standard format of the TCG and thus TCG Live. TCG Live will continue as a separate app, and the codes will still work as far as I know.
@VoidofLight as someone who followed this fairly closely, members of the community have pointed out several telltale signs (suspicious errors in Pokemon anatomy, over-detailed backgrounds and washed-out subjects, etc.) that are giveaways of AI-generated art. In addition, all of the entries under question were entered by “different” artists with variants of the same name/initials (there is a limit of 3 entries per artist). I have no doubt TPC took care in determining these were genuinely AI-created artwork, but the signs were pretty clear.
This game will either be the best thing Nintendo has ever created because it took so long, or the worst because it took so long. Here’s hoping it’s the former.
Ah yes, my favorite level, Dire, Dire Rocks. In all serious though, while my opinions about this list are mixed like many others’, there are some absolute bangers on it too. Also, Slimy Spring Galaxy from SMG2 is a vibe, even if it was challenging. The shells make 3D Mario water levels playable
As disgusting of them as this launch was, I’m glad they’re at least making an effort to fix it this time. Maybe it’ll eventually warrant an updated review?
Yuzu I 100% understand shutting down as it’s a current system, so emulation of any kind encourages piracy, whether intentionally or not, but Citra is disappointing due to its preservation potential
No one seems to be talking about it, but Smash Tour from Wii U was an incredibly cool concept with flawed execution. Would love to see a refined version of that return.
The way that started I thought they were going to confirm the Correct way to play the cups in order…and then they jumped from special to lightning cup lol
Of course TTYD is the best, but I think the 3DS entries (namely, Paper Jam and Sticker Star) are severely over-criticized. I understand that people dislike that they took a step away from the rest, but they’re still great games in their own right.

Too bad it’s $90 here in the US, looks like it could be a fun buy.

@Suketoudara yeah I was hoping they didn’t genuinely expect me to show up and play at 3-5am my time 😂

Re: Around 1 In 3 Switch 2 Owners Bought New Pro Controller Despite High Price Point (US)
@MattmanForever I know, right? The battery life is insane. I’ve only had to charge it once since release day, and I’ve put 100+ hours in on MKW
Re: Talking Point: Do You Have A New Go-To Racer In Mario Kart World?
Waluigi for life! In this game, rocking the Mariachi costume on the Baby Blooper.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (14th June)
Hit 40 hours on MKW and still going strong. This will be my foreseeable future.

@sanderev Gotcha, I must have missed that the charging grip has them, as I usually pass it over. Thanks for the heads up!

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged
Okay, not too bad. Might hold off on accessories until I hear they don’t have drift, and look into third party webcams. But I can live with that.

I’d say it’s possible only because Nintendo always does what we least expect.

How does one preregister? I can’t find the actual link anywhere for iOS.
Re: Mario & Luigi: Brothership Box Art Has Been Officially Revealed For Switch
Something about Mario on that box art seems a little…off to me. That being said, I’m looking forward to playing another entry in this solid series.

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Swings Onto Switch Next Year
@_Figo_ thanks for clarifying. I never played the 3DS version just Wii so I didn’t know about that lol

That’s definitely a name choice, but the games actually looks really good. Excited to see what’s in store!

Freaking finally! Beyond excited
Re: New 2D Adventure 'The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom' Announced For This September
Bet, a new 2D and play as Zelda. Cool how that void kind of “bypasses” the curse of Demise to let Zelda be the main character.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Swings Onto Switch Next Year
Fun, but I noticed three hearts per Kong at top left. Did they make it easier? The difficulty was one of the more appealing parts of this game to me.
Re: Basketball Is Dunking Onto Nintendo Switch Sports This Summer
Cool, why not. Not the sport I was hoping for but I’m happy the game is still getting some love!
Re: We're Getting A Brand New 'Mario & Luigi' RPG This November
This was out of pocket, but I am so down.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS)
I love this game as its own thing, even if it doesn’t fit with the rest of the series. I will die on that hill.
Re: Mailbox: Layoffs, Hot Takes, Delayed Gratification - Nintendo Life Letters
Yo I got featured! Thanks for reminding me to track down a copy of Spirit Tracks as I dig out my 3DS again after my post-Sticker Star lull.

Re: Soapbox: Donkey Konga Introduced Me To One Of My Favourite Songs Ever

First! Interesting to see they are still supporting the game, thought they were done after DLC since Sakurai is taking a break
Re: Poll: What's The Best RPG Starring Mario?
Of course TTYD is the best, but I think the 3DS entries (namely, Paper Jam and Sticker Star) are severely over-criticized. I understand that people dislike that they took a step away from the rest, but they’re still great games in their own right.
