@MattmanForever Honestly I think Nintendo is going to go all digital next gen. Wondering if I should just start getting first party games digital now if this is how it's going to be. I don't WANT to of course, but I already buy third parties on Steam, so why not just bite the bullet completely?

@BloodWolfe Agreed. A code in a box is even worse. I realize that for me, digital is definitely more convenient, but I still hold Nintendo as the last bastion of physical gaming. And if I need to buy digital, I'll get my games from a place where I can refund them easily and they will stay with me. Nintendo hasn't yet proven that to be the case with their eshop.

Being a Steam Deck and Switch 2 owner just means that any key card games will be bought on Steam. I want to give Nintendo my money for these games, but I'm not desperate enough to get a key card, and if I'm buying digital I'll just get it on Steam so I can play it more places.

They should have just done new artwork to incorporate all the new elements. Just make the bellabell park artwork more comprehensive.

Played the demo for this, it was amazing! This game is gonna be so good.

I played Rebirth on steam deck and it was rough to say the least. Hopefully they can do some AI upscaling magic on switch 2.

@BrewsterTea Yeah that would be cool! Some better feeling weapons would go a long way too. I really wish they would have looked at Doom 2016 for inspiration on weapons and melee, but kept the puzzle solving and quiet moments that metroid is known for. I know that Samus technically only has one "gun" but they could have made the different beams behave like different weapons. Like the fire being a flamethrower, electric a sniper, ice a shot gun, etc.

I wish him luck! Hopefully Retro can just cook on the next one. The game really needs an overhauled combat system in my opinion.

Nothing for me these months. Already played Remake on other platforms and Mario Tennis has burned me too many times now unfortunately.

Bought this game on release and played for about 10 hours. It was painfully slow and dull. Combat was fantastic though and very original! I ended up selling it because I couldn't get into it. Does it ever pick up? For me it's hard to justify playing a game if it doesn't excite me within the first hour. And yes, I've played plenty of JRPG's that ARE exciting immediately. I really wanted to love this game

Dk is my goty so far. But I'm having an absolute blast with Sonic Crossworlds too.

Really tried to get into this but I'm just not feeling it. I'm about 8 hours in but the dialouge just feels so tedious. Any suggestions or should I just trade it in? I'm a fan of other jrpgs like Final Fantasy, SMT, Earthbound, and Metaphor, along with Falcom's own Y's series.

Thanks for making my decision easy! Guess I'll just buy all third party games on steam now! If I'm getting things digital, I'd rather use a more consumer friendly platform.

Glad I stopped buying from Limited Run. What a crap show. Got tired of waiting a year to play my most anticipated games and just embraced digital for indie games now.

@DTFaux Agreed. Should have stuck with game characters. At least Miku has a crap ton of games and is adjacent to gaming.

@Yoshi3 You know what, I do agree. It was fine as a one off, but not as an entire change. I honestly wish Tears just reused the Breath engine but made a more linear game.

Really tired of hearing this. If Zelda can go open world, why not Metroid? I'll admit, the desert itself didn't exactly look inspiring. But I'm not against the idea. It's been a long time since Prime 3. The series needs to evolve and grow just like Nintendo's other franchises. Metroid deserves that chance as well. Really tired of Metroid having an uphill battle all the time with critics compared to Zelda.

@Telcontyr Sorry should have elaborated. I used to buy a lot of 3rd party games on Switch to play them portable, but now I just get them on steam to have my library consolidated.

Nintendo is making it extremely difficult to like them this gen. The steam deck already killed so much of my nintendo hype and they keep shooting themselves in the foot even more. These roms are perfectly playable without the hardware. Offering this piece of plastic as a cool bonus? Sure, why not? But making it required PLUS having to sub to the terrible service? Lol nah

They're really butthurt about Palworld, huh? So pathetic. They're NINTENDO. They have the money and the talent to make a good Pokemon game, but they look and run worse than every other jrpg on the console. Why does Nihon Falcom have better looking games than NINTENDO. (Yes I know gamefreak makes the game, but Nintendo is holding the leash and went after palworld).

Lol this is just like what happened when Baldurs Gate 3 came out. It's not team cherry's fault that they are providing amazing value. Same with Larian for BG3. Stop whining and step up your game. Or don't. No one cares.

@raymond23 I agree. Bananza was a truly special game. Haven't enjoyed a Nintendo game like that for a long time. I trust Sakurai though with Air Riders. The man knows how to make a good game. Only issue with the original was a lack of content due to it's rushed development time, and it's still probably my favorite gamecube game. This game looks like it's getting all the time it needs.

@mystman12 That's good. I trust Sakurai to understand what made the original so great, so I'm sure he prioritized that.

@YunoboCo Wait so is city trial not able to be played on one console with 4 people? If so.... that's a major problem. I haven't seen the direct yet (at work) but the limited videos I've seen have looked amazing. Really concerned if this is true, as the original game was one of my favorite games as a kid.

This is really cute! Although as a kid, I would have probably preferred that the characters were actual wooden figures instead of flat pieces.

Nah. 20 dollars for a bunch of reused assets. The 60 fps sounds good but that should be free.

Excited for fans that are only into Nintendo systems! I suspect that most of these I'll have already played. It sucks because I really do want to support the Switch 2, but rebuying games I've already played, or buying versions that are worse compared to other platforms just isn't worth it to me anymore.

This is all Nintendo's fault full stop. It's their decision to have the cost of cartridges be so incredibly high without eating the costs. Third parties are in it to make money because they are companies. If you want game key cards to stop blame Nintendo, not third parties.
