Another day, another live service game dead. I really hope that the trend of trying to get whales into a game dies the same way as whaling IRL. There are only so many you can hunt before they become extinct.

@SilentHunter382 Sonic comes to mind, especially when Sonic himself had three different voice actors in the span of a decade. (2000 to 2010)

8bitdo really is the Swiss Army knife of controllers. I do wish that they still made the Super Famicom colored controllers like they did for the Pro 1 controllers.

I don't think this would happen. Video games have ALWAYS been Disney's weak point since the start of the medium. Yes there are good Disney games, but not so much of Disney MADE games. They never really built a studio from the ground up and the studios they have bought over the years failed to really fall in the groove like the other major buyouts Iger has made.

I don't think Disney should make any major investments in the Gaming industry as long as Bob is in charge.

Super mega disagree. I doubt the Switch 2 would sell as well as the Switch 1 if it couldn't play the older games. We don't NEED it, we SHOULD have it.

I'm an Anglo-Caucasian and even I hate the word "Latinx". Who the hell made up that word? A 90's marketing team?

The first of many, I can only assume. No developers in the small to middle sized are going to start projects with Unity. I figure that most who do have a game in development are weighing the sunk-cost fallacy of either starting over with a different engine or canceling the projects if it isn't shipping by Q1 2024.

Lets be real here, given Level 5's record, we won't see these in the west until 2025 at the latest.

@Jeronan I think that Nintendo did the localization of YW1 (And possibly 2 & 3) meaning that Level 5 couldn't just copy paste it. The integration of toys not released in the US would be a factor as well. Finally, the port did so poorly (<50k units) that I'm surprised Level 5 hasn't written it off.

Now I'm wanting a port of NES Remix 1+2. Maybe even a SNES Remix or something?

I doubt Charles' voice is going away any time soon, as Nintendo is probably going to use the archive voice clips along side the new voice actors' to help ease the transition. At the very least, Charles' is still around to help whomever is filling in his (multiple) shoes with their voices. He's been Mario's voice actor for over 30 years now, it's time for someone else to don the mustache.

@MrCookieCrisps I think Nintendo were already making moves to slowly change Mario's (and Wario's) VA before they made the announcement.

I'm pretty sure that the Switch port is actually canceled because Sony helped invest into the game before the money was rolling in. I wouldn't be surprised if they got console exclusivity for Genshin in exchange for helping Mihoyo make a native PS5 version. I feel like Nintendo would've help Mihoyo with compression if they actually had/are making a Switch port.

@PipeGuy64Bit More like from 2013 to 2020. I do wonder what was going on in the background to make Pikmin 4 take so long to make. I do wonder if it was rebooted in development (if not multiple times), much like Prime 4. After all, before 2022, any time Pikmin 4 was brought up it was said that it was "Nearing completion" It could also be that Pikmin 3 Deluxe was made to tie up loose ends that the Wii U version brought up.

This is even more baffling considering that Splatoon 3 ditched the whole gender thing as a whole. Thing is, a personal pet peeve of mine is that unless you look very closely, there's no visual difference between a Inkling Girl and an Inkling Boy. The only difference is whether they "Woomy!" or "Ngyesh!"

On the other hand, I can see why the LGBTQ+ community really likes Splatoon, it's real easy to be who you WISH you could be. Maybe the developers of Splatoon 3 took some notice from said community?

"Nintendo fans needn't lose sleep" The only type of people who are losing sleep over this are the developers of this game, wondering if they'll have a job in a year. I pity them that their talents are most likely being to be thrown away by executives who only bandwagon hop.

I do wonder what Nintendo is up to. Other than Pikmin 4 (and Everybody 1-2 Switch), there's nothing else releasing in the rest of 2023. Will Metroid Prime 4 finally have gameplay and a date? How about a Mario announcement to follow up the movie making major bank? Pokemon DLC? Splatoon 3 Side Order? Major games coming to NSO N64/GB/GBA? Yo-kai Watch 4? Nintendo's silence is very suspicious.

@ROOCIS Actually, I kind of does. The Wii encryption keys were found in the source code of the emulator. The thing is, no one has gone to court to argue if it's legal or not.

The fact that the argument boils down to "Emulators are legal BUT...." says it all. The issue is that no one has the balls to actually go to court and try to defend their point. Need I remind you that ALL forms of modding is technically illegal since 1998? (Micro Star v. FormGen Inc)

@Kehkou No. This is the second part of season 1. Netflix does this so they can split up the series over months, without needing to pay for an actual second season. They pull this on nearly every animated show that isn't anime or Big Mouth.

I agree so much. Nothing against the Switch, but it's not really suited for very short playtimes. Plus, it's not really a thing to put in your pockets, if you even can.

Also, maybe it could be possible to make some "New" games in the style of classic G&W titles? Like, imagine making a Pikmin G&W game. Pluck, pluck, throw, throw, carry, carry.

@KingMike Yea, this reasoning makes sense. The Game.com was also still fresh in their minds as well. @CielloArc also makes a good point of it also being the peak of Tamagotchi as well, considering Nintendo was making Pocket Pikachu at the time.

@BrazillianCara I don't think she was blacklisted, more like they decided to have someone else as the voice that fit the character better. The Original voice of Male Byleth on the other hand, he's very much blacklisted by Nintendo.
