@silverdamascus That and also they don't need to run calculations every single time that you play to check how many times a single item has been traded.
@mystman12 I think that's the problem with his game. It wants to be Jackbox. It's trying to fill a niche that's already filled. I feel like Nintendo is only releasing this because of sink-cost fallacy
This is even more baffling considering that Splatoon 3 ditched the whole gender thing as a whole. Thing is, a personal pet peeve of mine is that unless you look very closely, there's no visual difference between a Inkling Girl and an Inkling Boy. The only difference is whether they "Woomy!" or "Ngyesh!"
On the other hand, I can see why the LGBTQ+ community really likes Splatoon, it's real easy to be who you WISH you could be. Maybe the developers of Splatoon 3 took some notice from said community?
"Nintendo fans needn't lose sleep" The only type of people who are losing sleep over this are the developers of this game, wondering if they'll have a job in a year. I pity them that their talents are most likely being to be thrown away by executives who only bandwagon hop.
I do wonder what Nintendo is up to. Other than Pikmin 4 (and Everybody 1-2 Switch), there's nothing else releasing in the rest of 2023. Will Metroid Prime 4 finally have gameplay and a date? How about a Mario announcement to follow up the movie making major bank? Pokemon DLC? Splatoon 3 Side Order? Major games coming to NSO N64/GB/GBA? Yo-kai Watch 4? Nintendo's silence is very suspicious.
@ROOCIS Actually, I kind of does. The Wii encryption keys were found in the source code of the emulator. The thing is, no one has gone to court to argue if it's legal or not.
The fact that the argument boils down to "Emulators are legal BUT...." says it all. The issue is that no one has the balls to actually go to court and try to defend their point. Need I remind you that ALL forms of modding is technically illegal since 1998? (Micro Star v. FormGen Inc)
@Kehkou No. This is the second part of season 1. Netflix does this so they can split up the series over months, without needing to pay for an actual second season. They pull this on nearly every animated show that isn't anime or Big Mouth.
I agree so much. Nothing against the Switch, but it's not really suited for very short playtimes. Plus, it's not really a thing to put in your pockets, if you even can.
Also, maybe it could be possible to make some "New" games in the style of classic G&W titles? Like, imagine making a Pikmin G&W game. Pluck, pluck, throw, throw, carry, carry.
@KingMike Yea, this reasoning makes sense. The Game.com was also still fresh in their minds as well. @CielloArc also makes a good point of it also being the peak of Tamagotchi as well, considering Nintendo was making Pocket Pikachu at the time.
@BrazillianCara I don't think she was blacklisted, more like they decided to have someone else as the voice that fit the character better. The Original voice of Male Byleth on the other hand, he's very much blacklisted by Nintendo.
Considering Lemmings is fully owned by Sony and haven't seen a console or computer release of it since the PS3 days, I'm surprised it took this long for people to take up the torch.
Reminder that Nintendo has never made an M rated game in house. Yes, they published quite a few, but all of those were made by second or third parties.
Reminder that the Pizza Tower developers have zero plans to port the game over to other platforms. They haven't added the Noise as a playable character yet.
@Dpullam Sure, it's not as big as it once was, but it still makes bank. Some reports say that this deal will pay for itself in as little as two years.
@TotalHenshin Considering Rovio turned down an offer worth $800 Million from another mobile developer, something tells me that Sega offered something much more than money for the deal. Semi-Independence like with other Sega of Europe studios?
That being said, I really hate when Nintendo gloats about winning lawsuits and take-downs like this. It feels like they think that everyone who pirates are the same, giving a bad taste to those who actually buy their games and long to play their vast backlog.
@Wheatly One of the problems I can think of is that many "first party" titles weren't made in house by Nintendo. Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Kirby, and many more were made outside of Kyoto.
Remember that not only will Sega own Angry Birds, but have over 500+ well trained developers and a massive boost to their revenue. They could easily make their money back in as little as two years. Also, this further boosts Sega of Europe's development power, as nearly all the companies SegaSammy has bought since the merger in 2004, have been for SoE. (Other than Atlus and TMS)
I do wonder why they didn't call them Frisk. Is Frisk actually the canon name from Toby Fox or is it just a fandom name that has stuck to the character?
@90sRetroGaming And the Super Sonic music. I can live without MJ's tracks, but for the love of Light Gaia, make it so it actually sounds like a Genesis and not a reject of Sonic 4.
We... Are quite amused. As I said before, July 11th is going to be the 10th anniversary of the series, so they might be saving a major announcement for then.
@DrDoctor It's quite sad that so any great games have lost their original code to the sands of time so quickly after their first release. You would think that it would be harder for purely digital code to be lost as easy as film or TV, but alas. Having the original code is the exception, not the rule.
I would also like to say that Atlus is a bit on and off about good remasters. Persona 4 Golden and SMT3 are good examples of remasters, but then you have Persona 3 Portable (Which isn't terrible, but couldn't they at least try to fuse Portable and FES together than just re-releasing a handheld port?)
@Bizzyb Also the Sam and Max remasters of the Telltale series. (Though do take the reviews of Save the World with a grain of salt, as some make mountains out of anthills with the developers recasting one character and changing like 8 or 9 jokes.)
