@moodycat Ehhh. I would skip on Civ VI. Terrible support on Switch ever since the Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm DLC dropped. I would recommend Citizens Unite.
@River3636 Oy! Don't be dissing Eden Industries with the publisher!
@aznable As someone who actually likes Rideon's games, that's actually one of their weaker titles. Go with Marenian Tavern instead.
@nitrolink A: I doubt it takes that many resources to develop for, so I think Niantic will keep it alive for much longer. B: I think Nintendo may fund the game to keep Niantic to keep it afloat as long as possible C: Pikmin's creator isn't transphoic (I hope to ANY GODS THAT ARE LISTENING that Miyamoto isn't.) so there's less people turned off by the politics of the creator.
@OnlyItsMeReid You don't actually "play" it. It's more of an app than a game. As for the amount of time played, If Baircade played since the North American Launch for at least one hour a day, it would add up to 55 hours. That's just the time in the foreground, could be much longer if you include background time.
A: He has. Had Re-runs of Garfield and Friends in the 90's and maybe 2000's. B: Nickelodeon now owns Paws Inc (Garfield's parent company) for a few years now.
@AstroTheGamosian What I feel Nintendo does lack in is with how many minor IPs are dormant. If they're able to give their biggest IPs to other studios, why not some of their older and smaller ones? Give Ice Climbers or Clu Clu Land to someone and see if they can pull a Kid Icarus Uprising with them.
@WallyWest God, I hope so. Either the guy is a kid and is too young to deal with different opinions or has the mental capacity of a kid. Leaning towards the latter.
Actually, Bandai Namco does own the copyright and IP of Ms. Pac-Man, but if they ever use her or her game, they would need to pay some royalties to AtGames. In other words, AtGames gets free money whenever Ms Pac-Man is used. I also have a feeling that even if AtGames were to sell the royalties to B-N, it's most likely just to be cheaper to buy out the whole of the company.
I think the point the writer is making is that the density of the world is much greater in Animal Crossing than in GTA. In AC, you can play with nearly every single grain of sand in the sandbox. GTA? Not so much. Even if the sandbox is bigger, it feels like less if you can't play in the whole sandbox.
@KayFiOS Just a heads up, the main character is kind of an ***** at first. He does get better though. He basically goes from "I don't need friends" to "Friends are nice. I like having them"
Would also be good idea to order a decent stylus for it as well.
@dimi Thing is, TWEWY sold much better in the West than in Japan itself. Also, it might be a case where it was released at a very busy time. Most had to choose between Neo TWEWY and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. (Also, the fact that Neo TWEWY is locked behind the Epic Store on Windows doesn't help.)
@wuntyme8 I would also add the clearing of shovelware and/or updating the back-end to handle thousands of games in the store. Something tells me that the flood of shovelware is from not having any quality (and quantity) control than having bad quality control. Nintendo needs to wake up and smell the sewage before it gets as bad as Steam.
@MysticX Osborne effect. They don't want to announce a new console when it's not just ready to launch and the current models are selling well. See what happened to Sega in the Post-Genesis 90's. @uptownsoul Could be possible. Only reasons why the Switch wasn't backwards compatible with the Wii U was with the change from disks to carts and the change of architecture from PowerPC to ARM. @IronMan30 Porridge today, Gromit! TUESDAY!
@Kr96 Again, blame the transition to being Sega owned as a major factor on the slow down.
@wuntyme8 Persona 4 is likely because of the success of P4G on Steam, but Persona 3 would be a challenge. Trying to fit the additions from FES along with the Female MC from P3 Portable could make it quite messy. The fact that some parts of P3's story and gameplay have NOT aged well along with the matter of Junpei's English Voice Actor...
So when does this movie take place? If it isn't 1988, then it's not believable. It would be MUCH more relatable to try to get Mario or Zelda 2 in that Holiday season.
(BTW, Nintendo wasn't lying about not having enough copies of either in 1988. The short story was the chips that Mario and Zelda 2 needed were just being discontinued for better versions of said chips. Add to that ALL NES games were made in Japan, along side the massive need for the same chips for Mario 3's Japanese release... Yea, it was real.)
@victordamazio Uh, no. It wasn't JUST Disney. If you must blame someone, blame all the studios of Hollywood.
The real problem with copyright is that it's a one-size system. It's fine when the work is by one or two people, but any bigger than that and it kind of breaks down. That and the base 95 years for a "work for hire" just doesn't work for younger mediums like TV or Video Games. The staggering number of media that is just floating around without a clear owner is worrying for many in the preservation community.
@nessisonett You can't pick and choose who you like in the LGBTQ+ Community. I would call her a haggis (in nice words), but the poor dish as been though enough slander as it is.
(Speaking of, is haggis actually that good? It's basically a sheep sausage with oats, right?)
@Ventilator To be honest, it feels like Pikmin 4 is in the same place as Prime 4. I'm VERY certain the game development was reset at least once, if not twice.
@naxuu But then it's going to loaded with so many mircotransactions that even EA and Activision would be wary.
@Octane_st1m I think the main technical problem with Genshin is that it runs on Unity. Nintendo's version of Unity has a number of differences than PC Unity. The question now becomes "Is Genshin on Switch going to be a native port or a cloud version?" If it's the later, I don't think the Switch version is going to arrive until the mobile cloud version happens.
On a more serious note, this could indirectly help Genshin. This project might light a fire under MiHoYo and force them to make Genshin better to counter Tencent. But then again, this could turn into a Cyberpunk 2077 and MiHoYo will win by default, like Luigi.
Puts tinfoil hat on I also have a theory that Genshin isn't on the Switch just yet because of Tencent leaning on Nintendo not to do so. Tencent REALLY hates MiHoYo for it's success mostly because of envy and being rejected as a publisher for the game. Tenecent literally called September 28th 2020 (The launch day for Genshin) "The Darkest day in Video Game History"
Or it could be that the PS4 version of Genshin is a bad port and the Switch is less powerful than a PS4.
It seems like all the actual good artists are smart enough to stay away from NFTs, leaving only ones who's "art" is no better than 2000's Deviantart. (Which ironically, has an anti-NFT security system in place)
sigh
God I hate NFTs. Ever since they got Neopets roped into the mess, I'm been very much against the idea.

@SwitchVogel @Warioware Simple. Atlus' parent company went belly-up and Sega bought them in 2014.
@nessisonett Drag Queen? No. Character that turns you bisexual the moment you see them? YES.
@anoyonmus For once, the Persona comparison makes sense. It's more of a combination of SMT and Persona with Fire Emblem frosting on top.
@Warioware And that becomes cringe to look at a few years later when it's no longer is the top of the graphics world.
