Can Wade just buy AtGames just to bring Ms Pac-Man out of royalty jail?

Hopefully, this includes Game Freak, so they can slap them out their indie mindset. That said, I see this as more so circling the wagons rather than buying companies for the fun of it, like Sony and Microsoft did. Intelligent Systems, Good-Feel and HAL are on my short list, with maybe a wild pick such as WayForward and Level5.

Nice that Resetti has a more relaxed job. He deserves it. (Though I wish he was given a deeper voice.)

@Fighting_Game_Loser I think Directs are staying, but they'll be moving these smaller reveals to the app. Leaves the Direct open for actual reveals for new games and such.

I feel like 90-95% of Pokemon's problems could be solved if Nintendo just made Gamefreak a first party studio. I mean, it would be a whole pain and a half to get the studio up to Nintendo standards, but they did it with Retro Studios, so maybe they could do it with Gamefreak?

@AllBLK From a recent leak, the budget for Z-A was in the range of $13 Million. I'm 99% sure that Palworld has a bigger budget. Heck, even the upcoming Gen 10 has a budget of $20 Million.

A bloody gacha game has more voice acting than the mainline games. Come on Game Freak. You're no longer an indie studio. Stop acting like one.

@N00BiSH It is getting a bit too close though. Maybe once the ex-EA NoA President leaves Nintendo at the end of the year maybe they can get Wario out of accounting and back to adventures without sports and/or microgames.

Either Copyright is rendered toothless or it becomes even more strict. Both are bad in their own ways.

The best scenario would be to just bury OpenAI with legal fees and hope that the money tap dries up for AI companies as a whole, like it did for the dotcom bubble.

I think the problem with Doug was that he... Never challenged his superiors. He felt very yesman, to me. Think that was because of his previous experience at EA as even minor disagreements equaled a pink slip.

Hmmmm. My thoughts is that Doug Bowser did an "Okay" job, but not enough to renew his contract. Can also see NCL wanting someone back in the spotlight like Reggie with their PR; as it really needs a soft reset after jestures at the Switch 2

@ChromaticDracula I think they still own the rights, but are kind of squeamish on it. After "Quiet on Set" was released, Nickelodeon is playing a hard game of PR. Also, the only good Ren and Stimpy game was published by Sega.

@OorWullie The issue, I think is that 64GB are the SMALLEST card available and that making 32GB card is both uneconomical (The price of making a 32GB would be only slightly less that 64GB meaning that it costs more per a GB with less data) and maybe even impossible (If the Express MicroSD standard can't even store 32GB without changing the speed of access)

The way I see it, within a year or two, the price of production of Express MicroSD cards will come down to match the price of a Game Key card. Though customers really have to stress the fact that they DEMAND the actual game rather than cheaping out.

@Zeebor15 No, what I'm saying is that no one in Sonic Team can compose good chiptune music anymore. It's clear that Sega didn't care about making the beta versions of the music actually sound like a final version. Looking at you Super Sonic theme.

@MrDocena What gets my goat is that not only are the weapon skins in a gacha, but they have LIMITED USES! What's the point of having them be one time uses if you're never going to use the super high rare skins?

If someone could show us the price of making a key card compared to a full game card, MAYBE I could understand why publishers are pushing it so hard. Maybe.

My hope(ium) is because Switch 2 carts are the same as MicroSD Express, the price of manufacture will come down and some might actually put their games on the cart instead of us needing to download the game. But that seems as likely as the current US administration suddenly having morals. Which is to say, impossible.

Guess Metaphor is going to wait until 2026 then.

@Joekun I see Sony giving a better deal on CDs if you were going to publish on the PS1. Rather than paying Sony twice, once for the PS1 License and once for the CD pressings, a developer could get both fees paid at the same time at a lower price.
