I think the game is good but has lots of issues. The lock on is now messed up by motion aiming, with the gun moving away from the target it is locked to. Lots of bosses are floating spheres of some sort, which shows a lack of effort or a rushed production. Lack of enemy variety. The desert looking so very empty. Looks like a game that went through some kind of production hell or someone made them release it before it was finished. I like Metroid though, and this is Metroid. At times the game looks terrible but other times it looks great, possibly in comparison to the last one, which is very, very old. Certainly better graphics than corruption. I doubt it will have the replay value of the original. So it is a 'good' from me, close to 'not bad'.

It is like a kick in the teeth when a game performs so poorly it takes the enjoyment out of it and then the devs say they have been working on free cosmetic DLC instead of improving performance.

I've just played the first few save points on the normal Switch 1. Looked great on my TV and also handheld looked really good too. Looked better than Prime Remastered. The resolution in both docked and handheld looked high resolution to my untrained eye. In my book the best way to play this game would be on a switch lite, for portability and the higher pixel density compared to Switch 2.

If the unique selling point of the switch 2 version is higher resolution, then I doubt this will appeal to the average consumer who chose to buy either Switch 1 or 2. People who really want high resolution, buy different machines to play their games.

This morning, I found that I could breathe air and look at a beautiful sunrise for free, I'm wondering whether I will find myself being charged for this after 12 months.

I am keen to buy this on switch 1 because I am holding off getting a switch 2, probably until an exclusive Switch 2 Metroid game comes out.

I would like to play an easy mode if it makes combat easier but leaves puzzles intact. Also allows you to complete the whole game without telling me I need to use a harder difficulty to progress to the end.

I missed genuine light-gun pointer control with remastered. I wish they could sell a Wii Remote and sensor bar for switch and switch 2.

@Kilroy paying extra to play the same game on updated hardware is very Nintendo.

While the update to the game so it runs on new hardware should be free in my opinion, this is welcome news. As for being allowed to use save data from your switch 1 gameplay, I suspect Nintendo will charge for this thing that should also be free of charge.

Such an old game should have run on the original switch. This was a really lazy port.

Nintendo games are so exclusive you can only play certain games on emulators, using phones, PC, Steamdeck, Xbox...but not Nintendo Switch or Switch 2. So very exclusive.

I think the man reason the game is not selling is the ugly avatar. They should update it with some choices of avatar or character editor, so people can make the character look presentable. No offense to the model that the avatar is "based on" as she does not look anything like the ugly avatar.

@Iconoclysm gold or silver, I don't know. Is it real money that you spent on a jpeg or pretend, considering the product is nothing, who cares? I didn't complain about $20 a year. All I am saying is I wouldn't pay $20 a year for being allowed to use my own internet, that I have already paid for, hardware that I already purchased, and certainly not a jpeg, which I imagine Nintendo googled themselves for free to print on a bit of tat.

@Iconoclysm you get "rewards" by spending money, so it is buying. That said all the online services are rubbish and not worth the money. I used to have ps+ and remember getting games that cost $60 on switch. I remember getting real games, not roms I could play on my phone for free. I used to have NSO when it was free and the connection was so poor you couldn't play Mario kart online for a full match without it cutting out. I'd never pay for that. But, even then, steam is 100% better where there is no fee to use your own internet.

@ShadLink ps+ and xbox give access to real games that are not from more than three or four decades ago. Games from the current gen. PS5 and Xbox games tend to have dedicated online servers whereas Nintendo is charging for P2P networking, which is literally the users own internet connection.

NSO online service:
Pay to be allowed to use your own internet.
Pay to be allowed to use specific features of your own console, that you paid for.
And now...
Be allowed to buy a picture of an old game.

Just saw that Metroid Prime 4 costs $10 more on switch 2. It is a unique selling point that Switch 1 games cost more money on Switch 2. Wonderful. Thank you Nintendo for this feature.

When I upgraded my PC, I got a free upgrade to all my PC games. It's so weird, it's almost like the the same games running on upgraded hardware. All for "free".

I have never seen this kind of button layout in an arcade. The vast majority of arcade machines have joysticks.

@jsty3105 the thing is that sometimes a very minor crime like copying a digital file is not serious enough to fine more than a more serious crime like assault or dealing drugs. Drug dealers do not get fined more than their profit margin. Fines are not refunds. If it is proven that someone made $45000,000 out of piracy, then sure, seize the assets and give it to charity or something, but don't tell some kid operating from their bedroom that they owe life ruining sums of money. I can only assume that this debt is not expected to realistically be paid at all.

@jsty3105 I doubt many people buy pirate games when the main appeal of piracy is that you do not pay for the game.

@jsty3105 I think a fair fine for videogame piracy should be less than a fine for drug possession or trespassing. It should be less than DUI or domestic violence. Just my opinion. Pirating videogames, maybe $500 in USD is appropriate, in my unqualified opinion.

Not very high definition looking HD. I like the game and would certainly pay significantly less than the asking price, on a very deep sale to get this.

Nobody causes $4500,000 in damages by distributing roms. Some creative maths going on here.

I speculate that this is a low effort, high price port because they plan on releasing galaxy 3 closer to the movie release. They must want Galaxy 3 to look more next-gen in comparison. Easier to make the old ones look old than making a new one look new.

Third person only for me. I hope they also allow for fixed camera and allow for lower resolution, lower polygon graphics.

I wish they had a third person mode in Metroid Prime. I always fall off platforms and it feels unnatural to run and jump while looking at my shoes. Here's hoping for Prime 4,

@LEGEND_MARIOID no, I didn't assume they had multiple consoles. All I was saying is that a person that wants to play so many PS5 games would benefit from buying the machine that plays them.

The switch version of this game contains the first two years worth of DLC, which is almost good. That said, I like to buy my games in their complete form so this does not appeal to me.

I played GTA San Andreas which was free via Netflix.

I'm thinking the Switch 2 is a bug-ridden Switch 1 Pro. Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade considering I would expect a Switch 1 to run 2D pixel art games at 60fps, and they can't even confirm Switch 2 can do it. Considering Switch 2 merely plays a new Mario kart game and patched versions of Switch 1 games, it is pretty much a Switch 1 pro, but with poor implementation with compatibility problems.

I want to know if you use a third party or 2nd hand plastic wheel, does it brick your Switch?

Those people mocking the idea that this couldn't be a fully functioning Gameboy. I do not agree. With actual effort and innovation, they could have made one.That said, it wouldn't be Lego anymore. While it is realistically possible, i wouldn't expect such effort and innovation from Lego or Nintendo. While it would be cool to have all sorts of Lego things that actually work, it isn't worth the development cost and it isn't actually what Lego is for or what Lego does. They shouldn't have animated the screen on the advertisement, as it is misleading and created the expectation that this should function.

The age has gone up because Nintendo games are so very expensive. Many kids can't afford to play.

Some very creative mathematics to get to 170 million. Copyright was infringed but nothing was actually stolen. Nintendo steal from customers all the time with their lack of a reasonable refund policy and anti-consumer practices. I don't feel sorry for Nintendo, I think it serves them right. Perhaps the FBI investigate Joy-Con drift or the misleading description of the Switch 2 screen, the fiasco with people having their consoles blocked for using a second hand game.

At this stage, I am really quite pleased with my choice to not buy a Switch 2.
