I thought a boomer shooter was a game in the style of the original doom era. This looks like an Xbox game, although the term millennial shooter does not have the same ring to it.

Great news it is not a roguelike. It looks a bit like bloodstained, in terms of graphics. If the engine is better and performance is better, hopefully this can meet the promise bloodstained failed to.

Paid upgrades seem so stingy and penny-pinching. It is like paying extra to Netflix because you have purchased a new TV. Someone has literally typed a different resolution into a computer. If the games had settings, like on PC, we could do it ourselves.

Correct me if I am wrong but these specific pokemon games have never been on virtual console, on any prior platform. I believe the whole point of NSO was to avoid honouring purchases on prior systems, because technically, games sold on virtual console have not been re-released for re-sale on Switch. Legally, Nintendo had a choice to honour purchases, not honour them and risk legal action from both customers and regulatory bodies, or a third option, NSO pseudo-rental via paying for an online subscription to peer to peer networking, loaning the games as a "complementary" side perk, i.e. not sold or paid for.

I hope more games like this are released for sale instead of NSO rental service. Choice is a great thing. 19.99 is expensive but at least you just pay once. It's not like you can play these games for free on most phones or anything.

@jsty3105 , my old phone is superior hardware, and so was the one I just threw away. The new one doesn't even have a contemporary standard OLED screen.

@Dee123 well, sometimes, like with Mario Galaxy low effort remasters, or games that are much cheaper on other consoles, or 59.99 for a game released in 2017, I do not want to pay-what they are asking, at least. I'm always buying steam games and the only thing I emulate on my steam deck the GameCube and Wii games I own, like prime trilogy, oh and Metroid Dread, another game I own.

Nintendo should release an emulator so that people can play Nintendo games on superior hardware, or any hardware they like without feeling like they are entering a black market just for exercising their consumer rights.

Nintendo should put more of their energy into making games.

This discussion of censorship distracts from the fact that, while the animation looks good, and I assume this is what needs to be censored, or possibly some voice acting and rude text- the game itself does not look very fun to play.

Not keen on any of these games to be honest. For me the best game was Fatal frame 2, which has already been remade but I liked it. I would maybe buy it on sale. Not very appealing.

I could never imagine a time when the 2D Metroid is a more sophisticated and spectacular game than Metroid prime on the same system.

From playing Prime 4 it looks like he had retired half way through making the game.

I used to play this on my DS and got really into it. This article makes me feel very old.

I am shocked they charge for an update that improves the basic requirement of frame rate. They should have worked on fixing the frame rate on the switch one version and I bet if Nintendo had a more customer friendly refund policy they would have been motivated to fix it.

Looks like I won't feel compelled to buy a Switch 2 for another month or so. My bank ballance is happy.

The final boss has attacks that can only be countered in one specific way. When all of my energy tanks were being drained by this one move, Mackenzie could have radioed me and told me that the counter was. I would have loved him then.

Mad Max probably sprung to no18 because people felt the need for an interesting, detailed desert setting with open world vehicular combat. Something missing from Metroid Prime 4.

I think I wouldn't have found Mackenzie mildly annoying if I was North American and was used to that kind of humour. I was only as annoyed as I tend to feel at an international conference, so it is likely more me than him.

This timeline makes total sense. Samus was secretly psychic during the events of Fusion and Dread. Samus rides a bike in Prime 4 because she simply doesn't feel like running at super speed anymore. While the last remaining Metroid was killed by mother brain, and the clones from other M were destroyed in the bottle ship, and the only remnants of the species exists in Samus during dread, it makes total sense that there are even more secret metroids are kept as pets by Sylux. Everything is clear now. So very clear.

My Switch 1 fan makes a noise now. The two joycon it came with, plus several more have all drifted and died. So in a way it is part dead. That said, I'm playing Prime 4 on my Switch 1 now. If I do replace it, I'd get a Switch OLED, Steam Deck OLED.

Didn't notice the DLC. 75%-90% discounts are not uncommon on other digital storefronts particularly on five year old digital copies of games, they are just uncommon on Nintendo's platforms. I am glad some people got a great deal, even if it was only offered "accidentally".

The animated cutscenes look great, shame the actual gameplay is a very boring looking 2D, colourless map of a city.

Cyberpunk is currently 65% off on Steam $20.99. Has been a few times and it is not a mistake or even unusual.

I suggest playing it on a GameCube, a Wii and if you don't have one of those, your phone will likely run it very well.

I like Metroid Prime 4 so far but understand why it may not be that popular. It's a bit too similar to the old ones while also not being as good. I'll take a slightly flawed entry into a franchise I love over no entry at all.
