The Pokémon Company has revealed that it'll be airing the latest presentation in its Nintendo Direct-style Pokémon Presents series on Wednesday 18th August.
It'll be streamed on YouTube at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST and will feature information on Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
When The Pokémon Company said that info on Legends: Arceus was coming "soon," they really meant it, huh?
We'll be streaming the show live right here on Nintendo Life, so make sure to visit the site at the times mentioned above to watch it with us and join in with our cosy chat. It's set to be the longest Pokémon Presents ever aired.
What would you like to hear about the new games? Any particular features or footage you're hoping to see? Let us know down below.

Sooo with a Pokemon Presents...a Direct Mini/Partner Showcase is less likely, isn't it? Usually a Pokemon Presents followed the former, if i remember correctly.
This explains why Indie World was this week rather than next week. Seems to all line up for there being a general Direct in the usual September slot which would be around WarioWare's release.
Excited to hear more info about Pokemon Legends Arceus. =)
Ah cool, the details about the two major Pokémon games I was wondering about the other day.
I guess this is the start of their marketing campaign proper then, looking forward to seeing how Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl have improved since their reveal.
I'm shocked that anything Nintendo related gets announced 5 days in advance. I may watch this one, curious about Arceus and what the remakes look like.
Can't wait to have more news about BDSP and Legends Arceus
With the Switch OLED trailer showing an improved graphics of Pokémon BDSP, I'm really excited for this and see how much has improved since the reveal trailer for both BDSP and Legends Arceus
The only thing I want is a pokemon game with a decent framerate that doesn't cause motion blur/ghosting.
@thehappyaerithch Even if it would live up to the expectations people would still find something to complain ^^
Confirmation of Mega Evolutions returning as well as Platinum content would make me super hyped for BDSP. The latter already has some hints from previous trailers, but time will tell (fingers crossed)
As for Arceus Legends, I’m excited to find out about any changes to the battle system as well as if the overworld is just as barren as it looked. Hopefully the storyline is solid.
Looking forward to the 18th!
I've been waiting for a presentation for couple of weeks. Knew it'd be soon. I want to see both games again. Remakes to see if they've added anything new to them to make them a worthy purchase and Legends Arceus because I just need to see more in general. Curious if it looks any different now. It needs to be pretty polished by now if they want to stick with the January date.
@thehappyaerithch Although GameFreak has been on a streak of releasing mediocre games for the last few years now, Legends Arceus is a completely new type of game. The realist in me is telling me to not hold my breath, but I want to at least give them the benefit of the doubt before losing what little faith I have left in GameFreak.
Well, my wallet is already empty because of the Indie direct.
Ha, joke's on you, Game Freak!
Freaking finally! I'M SO HYPED FOR BOTH GAMES!
Really excited for BDSP!
i’m excited for this. I can’t wait to see what changes there are for the new games.
Eh, figures. It starts right when I gotta report for work! Guess I'll have to catch up after the fact. I'm eager to see if more Pokemon Platinum changes made it into BDSP, and I want more info on Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Can GF show these new games running on a decent framerate? That's all I ask.
Wow, Pokemon Direct on 18 August 2021 after my country independence day celebration (17 August 2021). 😀🇲🇨
So patriotic.
I look forward to the news but not the comments.
Looking to see how they improved Legends, but even then it's at a decent timeslot for me so it's safe to assume I'll be tuning in
Oh hey! My birthday!
Don’t mess this up.
I have zero interest in BDSP as I still have access to the DS games which, imo, still look superior, however I am very intrigued about Pokémon Arceus.
I am really looking forward to seeing more Pokemon Legends Arceus information. I don't even mind if nothing else that is Pokemon related gets announced. That is all I want to see personally. I have been wanting more videos ever since this was announced.
There we go, now the 1:1 doomers can shut up!
Fallout and mass internet outrage guaranteed, can't wait.
*cautious optimism continues *
I'm excited! This will be my first play of DP so I can't wait for Nov.
Can't wait to not care about dp remakes and be even more disappointed by how Arceus looks, I don't see the point in ever buying another pokemon game when games like Monster Hunter Stories 2 and SMT 5 exist.
Awesome. Looking forward to both if I'm honest
Pretty excited for this. Looking forward to hearing about the content in BDSP and hopefully some more info and performance improvements on Legends. Tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if Legends got delayed a bit but who knows.
i wonder what thing Pokémon Company is gonna show for Pokémon Legend Arceus? the remakes of Diamond e Pearl i don't expect big changes.
First time I’ve been excited about Pokemon in almost 10 years.
I just want to hear about Detective Pikachu... Things have gone too quiet on that front.
...trying to decide if I wanna watch. Don't care about BDSP or Legends Arceus, but New Pokemon Snap, or PMD content would interest me...
@mariomaster96 I'm sorry, but this kind of snide attitude does no one any favors. Why are you even posting it?
Point is: You're whining about people complaining, but you yourself are setting yourself up to find people to complain about already by saying "even if it does live up to expectations". Um... WHOSE expectations? Ask yourself that. If you think that dissenters are a hivemind, you're way off. They're all people with their own opinions and expectations, thus one set of expectations is not another's, and someone will inevitably be disappointed with pretty much any product. It's not something to be snide about, it's just a matter of everyone having formulated their own opinions.
When you lump everyone together as some premade category that all thinks the same, it's no wonder you're not going to be able to understand why some people are going to be disappointed.
People who are dissenters for one game will not always be for another (like me I don't like BD/SP, but I am looking forward to Pokemon Legends Arceus and doubt they'd do anything to kill my hype at this point), and people who dissent to a game, have different reasons for why they find it disappointing from another individual.
@Harmonie "Why are you even posting it?"
It's called a joke. Didn't think someone would take this so seriously ^^
Sometimes I feel that there are people that enjoy the fact that the Pokémon fandom became so disharmonious in recent times, and some may even take any chance they can to fan the flames.
Well, we all know people will go out of their way to complain about whatever is shown anyway. I'm personally looking forward to getting more information on both, BDSP and LA.
@ComradeThom Oh right, I completely forgot about Detective Pikachu 2. It's about time they drop some new info about that one
So who is ready to complain about a game that isn't even out yet?
@Snatcher the entirety of twitter is
@DeathByLasagna If we're lucky, they'll delay that game.
@mariomaster96 There sure are a lot of "jokes" dismissing people's opinions in this comment section. It's hard for me to believe that there isn't some genuine animosity here.
@StefanN We probaly won't get any of those anytime soon. Most insiders are expecting a September Direct, which I think is reasonable. At this point, the next direct could be just about 4 weeks away! It's crazy that we're even able to expect one again after last year.
@Harmonie It really was just a joke but ok, you don't have to believe me
@Harmonie Hey man I'm just joking about true events. 😉
@Harmonie Feels like you're taking things a little too personal and defensive. As if things hit way too close to home and you felt as if you were being called out.
You gotta chill and not take what total strangers say online so seriously~
Calling it now, arceus legends will be delayed by about 3 months
@UltimateOtaku91 With the crap footage they showed I wouldn't doubt it.
@BriskSunrise I'm not worried about being targeted here. I'd say that chances are very likely that I will remain hyped for Pokemon Legends Arceus, but having been someone who has expressed being disappointed with many games in the past, I see these snide remarks thrown around all of the time and they do get aggravating because we're all people here.
Just because I shouldn't take it personally, doesn't also mean that I can't call it out when I see it, because it's annoying. As I said, it's snide. This may be the internet, but we're all still people here, communicating with other people.
Also, the "it's just a joke" line is one of the oldest in the books, by the way. One thing I've realized over the years of my life as a minority among other things is that line is nonsense and perhaps without realizing, people go mask off when they make these "jokes". "Jokes" always have a context, and someone has to be of a certain mindset/opinion to make or find a joke funny. They don't exist in a vacuum. You can't tell me that mariomaster didn't share some agreement with the original person they responded with their "joke" to. (this joke could have a different context, like if it's a specific subReddit where people only poke fun at this kind of attitude, but... here? Nope, don't believe that. Sorry)
Now when it comes to video game opinions, it doesn't really matter versus actual bigotry, but I still know this passive aggressive behavior when I see it.
@thehappyaerithch I just usually stop reading pokemon comment sections now, since they're probably one of the most toxic comment threads I ever really see.
@Snatcher Eh, the game didn't look that bad. Most of the issues have to do with the pokemon models, since they're trying a new technique that keeps pokemon from instantly popping up in the overworld. I do have my concerns about the game world being barren, but then again, most game trailers show earlier builds of the game, so I'm not that worried yet.
I just want Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to be 1 to 1 comparable to Diamond and Pearl way back. If they can manage at least that much, they'll be a success. Add on extras like Online battle capability, pokemon from later regions and other goodies and I'll be more than happy with the purchase.
As for Legends Arceus, Im keeping my expectations so low, I'm barely interested in it. I still want the game and I still want it to be good. But I'm not holding any hope for it. The rest of the year wont be ruined for me if it turns out to be a bad game.
@VoidofLight I agree, I am really happy for it and been waiting for a pokemon game like it for a wile.
@Harmonie,
I would suggest any animosity which does seem quite a strong word for the situation, is never ever going to be only one sided, the complainers will believe in their position, as will anybody not having the same issues with the game.
As for people being passive aggressive on here, I think you are reading far too much into that, but it's up to you at the end of the day, just hope this does not go the same way as pretty much every Sword and shield thread, and would welcome some more constructive arguments, but who am I kidding, this is Pokemon.
@Snatcher,
I am sure there will be a few people on various forums, who would have already made their minds up about this game, personally I want to seem more footage, and perhaps some actual game play, before making up my mind.
Bu must admit to quite liking the art style of this new game after watching the reveal.
After waiting so much I'm glad they're finally giving updates on these titles, like they could back at E3. I hope they give out a lot of time for Legends: Arceus, to show off how ambitious that game is for them.
@johnvboy Same.
Finally!
I'm cautiously hyped about BDSP including Platinum content. Otherwise, it really doesn't make sense to get it.
Prepare for
"Legends arceus looks like a Ps1 game"
I'm always excited for new (or in the case of BDSP, old) Pokémon information. Even if I think some of the mainline games weren't up to snuff, I remain a fan and will probably remain so until Game Freak screws up royally bad. I don't think they've gotten to that point.
@mariomaster96
Ain't that the truth
@thehappyaerithch hot take, cracker
Fingers crossed they announce a delay for Arceus. Would be good to see TPC taking the Pokémon games seriously for once.
the stream will just be Ishihara showing off the fleet of Lamborghinis and Aston Martins he bought using his Pokemon Unite money 💰💰💰💰💰🏎🏎🏎
Right in the middle of the day, in the middle of a work week? Blaahh.
