Re: Fire Emblem Engage Added To Nintendo Music, Here's Every Song Included

MTMike87

Fire Emblem Engage is excellent and easily has a place in Top 10 soundtracks from Nintendo games.

That said, I'm a little disappointed that DLC tracks are missing. The song, Violent Strings (both variants), are like... Dancing Mad / One Winged Angel good. Might be my favorite video game track of all time. Really sad its missing here.

Re: Fans Fight Back Against Nintendo Switch 2 Scalpers

MTMike87

I don't really understand Scalpers on eBay of all places personally. I mean eBay takes 14% of the sale + fees. Sellers also probably eat shipping costs since the price is already so high.

And on top of all of that, you're likely going to get a tax form for making over $600 on eBay and labelled a small business for the year if you live in North America. Filing the form alone can be as much as $75 & since the sale was over market value, you will probably owe additional taxes on top of that!

So, what's the draw here? Lol

Re: Fans Fight Back Against Nintendo Switch 2 Scalpers

@FlyingDunsparce Exactly this.

It might just take time and patience but no one has to pay over MSRP for anything. You will get your console for MSRP eventually. I remember it taking a few weeks to get a PS5 and the opportunities to get one would almost pop up every day from different retailers.

Re: "We MUST Resist Buying These Game-Key Releases", Says GamesMaster Host

MTMike87

Yeah, I just buy games or "access" to games if you prefer, wherever they are the cheapest. Game-Key Cards are essentially a way to buy, sell and trade what would otherwise be digital only games and that's all I really care about with physical media. This also still gives retailers the chance to run sales when the eShop isn't.

If Game-Key Cards fail, they simply will just be digital only releases anyway. They will not back pedal and release physical games, so the boycott will do more harm than good if you ask me.

My primary issue with digital downloads was already resolved by Nintendo's Virtual Game Cards though too. Now my wife and I can exchange games between both our systems and accounts without worrying about who has the primary Switch console so yeah, all of this has no negative impact on me personally.

Re: Huh, The Pokémon Company's Statement On TCG Shortages Sure Looks Familiar

MTMike87

I think there are two sides of the problem here:

1) You have an extremely high demand product right now and they simply do not have enough printing facilities worldwide to meet the demand. However the unprecedented demand is also extremely temporary because you have single individuals purchasing as much as $26,000 in product for the purpose of resale. This market will crash like it always does, so is it really worth investing more into printers and entire facilities if they'll just have to tear them down before they can even use them? I don't think that's a realistic expectation, but at the same time they need to make a change in how they approach physical products in the future because this cycle will continue to happen. There's a solution out there for these bumps in popularity, it's just not my place to find it.

2. On the other hand, the community has also played a part in making the market so inflated. Die hard fans are constantly purchasing sealed products at two to five times market value. I believe this is also caused by the sheer amount of content creators that HAVE to have the product on hand for daily uploads for their own livelihood. It's also artificially inflated due to total greed from aftermarket sellers trying to take advantage of the situation as much as they can.

So, as consumers, of course we know what we want The Pokémon Company to do, but they aren't going to do it because they already have market analysts predicting the drop and they can't increase productivity with new equipment and staff when they'll just have to shut it down weeks to months later. So, it's really up to the community on this one. Stop buying cards over MSRP and prices will come down, the panic buying will stop, the short-term scalpers will move on to the next thing, and things will regulate. Only then, can the Pokémon Company predict the market course and decide if having more printing facilities is beneficial to both them and their customers.

Re: Feature: These Past 8 Years Have Been A Privilege

MTMike87

Thank you for sharing!

I'm on my personal 7th year of the Nintendo Switch and I'll hang on to it for awhile after the successor comes out before I upgrade. Just so many great games and not quite ready to make the leap forward yet.

Definitely excited for the future though! Hoping to see even more "impossible" ports previously only available on other platforms make their way to Switch 2!

Re: Hands On: Absolum - Dead Cells Meets Streets Of Rage 4 In An Effortlessly Stylish 'Rogue 'Em Up'

MTMike87

@JagGentlemann I definitely relate to this. It's not my genre either, and I'm always disappointed when I see roguelite / roguelike on a game that otherwise looks great! But after playing the highest rated games in this genre and utterly despising them, I've learned to just stay away from this subgenre entirely.

If nothing else, it practically cuts the Switch's library in half, so it feels less overwhelming! lol

Re: Talking Point: Can Nintendo Keep Up The One-Game-A-Month Release Pace On Switch 2?

MTMike87

I'm sure Nintendo already has a ton of projects in the pipeline with some maybe even complete and just waiting for the strategic release date. That said, I think there will be more gaps within releases only because of the Switch being able to fall back on re-releasing WiiU games when necessary.

I am afraid we'll continue to see lower effort 3DS HD ports for Switch to fill in those gaps at a full $60 price tag though.

Re: Game Vouchers Won't Work On Switch 2 Exclusives, Says Nintendo

MTMike87

I only took advantage of this program once, to get $20 off Tears of the Kingdom and $10 off Pikmin 4. I also got Katamari Damacy Reroll while it was on sale with the Gold Coins from the Voucher purchase, so it was really 3 games for $100, which didn't feel too bad given 2 of them were Day 1 purchases.

I'm sure Nintendo has something else to go in its place, but it may not be as enticing of a deal as this one is/was.
