@molkom If I were to guess it'd probably help but wouldn't be necessary. Nirvana Initiative starts with a spoiler toggle that asks if you've played the first game or not and mostly focuses on new characters with minimal specific references to the first (though some things are spoiled, mostly which characters from the first game die) and this is a midquel that takes place before it so it feels like an intention with this series is for any given entry to be a clean starting point.
Upgrade's a pass for me. Wasn't really that fond of Jamboree anyway - much prefer Superstars - and can't see any scenario where I'd ever actually play the mic or camera stuff.
I know it's a multimedia franchise but man every Pokemon Presents is such a brutal sit with its 20 minutes of irrelevant blather about the TCG and Go before getting to the actual point.
I figure if they had done so they would've mentioned but I wish they'd add more direct compatibility with the new Gamecube controller. Wanting to play Sunshine again with it but I'm kind of just waiting for the NSO release.
@Smithicus It's definitely more a VN than turn-based strategy, but it's not a gigantic gulf, I'd say the ratio is probably about comparable to how much of Persona consists of actually fighting. There's certainly plenty of gameplay and one of the routes is almost nothing but fighting.
@0ohHeWrong Yeah, pretty much all the preview materials had me disinterested, and I also wound up pretty heavily disliking the first hour or so of the demo. But then I decided to stick with it and ultimately fell in love with it.
Became pretty obvious when Kodaka suddenly started talking about wanting to do DLC and they patched in a hard mode, but nice to get confirmation. Absolutely loved Hundred Line, super recommend it.
@Hee-ho-master Probably perfectly fine, game runs well even on the Switch 1.
Might look into this if it's priced semi-reasonably. Kind of a series I've wanted to try out but seems absurdly expensive to get into because even when they're on sale it's just barely.
My download speeds are pretty solid (though they definitely lag behind my PS5) but the range on the thing's pretty bad, generally can't reach the router from my room even though my other devices can.
Really sucks but not exactly surprised. I've had one sitting since January where I'm hoping they'll announce something to use it on before it runs out, maybe if there are some decent game announcements before they're discontinued I'll pick up another set just in case. As it is unless something new is announced in time I'll probably end up using the one I've got on Bayonetta 2 or ARMS, maybe Mario Tennis or Xenoblade X.
@roy130390 Any sort of red line of, "Well you're not allowed to go below this number," for scores renders the entire concept of scoring games completely pointless. There is no such thing as objective quality.
Own all of those except Splatoon 3 which I'm not interested in, would especially recommend Mario RPG though you can find it cheaper elsewhere pretty easily.
Probably will end up choosing one between AI: The Somnium Files, Danganronpa 2, and Buried Stars to dig into. Played through the former two twice each before, latter's new to me.
@Hero-of-WiiU For what it's worth I treat 5 as a baseline. 5 to me is, "Yeah, sure, this is decent," rather than treating it like anything below a 9.75 is trash like so many people bafflingly do. A 4 for me is, "Yeah, this isn't really bad but I don't particularly enjoy it."
Only 6 for me, I got tired of it pretty quickly. I'd probably give it like a 4 score-wise, mechanically it's good but there really isn't a lot else I particularly enjoy about it.
I'd definitely rather all of the NSO apps let you pick and choose which games to have installed. Would probably do some serious fat trimming on all of them personally, would help a lot with what a disorganized nightmare the UI in these things is.
I've definitely noticed mine feeling pretty warm, but don't think at a point where I'd outright describe it as hot. But then I've also been running my air conditioner pretty much nonstop the whole time I've had it, and I certainly have no trouble believing other people are having worse experiences.
They really need to either make the NA and PAL downloads separate or let you toggle what Gamecube games to have installed because adding like 3 GB worth of files every time they update the thing is going to dramatically bloat it out very quickly.
Funny enough I just did runthroughs of both games (and also Zero Mission) over the course of a weekend like two weeks ago. Personally Fusion is probably my favorite Metroid game but Super's probably second place, both very good.
Funny enough other day I found myself thinking of a random song trying to remember what it was and eventually realized it was the NSMBU desert music.
That said I can't imagine actually sitting down and listening to the NSMB games' soundtracks. The incessant, "Dah!" sounds are annoying enough in-game. I kind of like NSMBU more than Wonder if I'm being honest but that game's soundtrack is not a highlight.
Outfit's decent, and I do appreciate them being upfront about when it'll no longer be available instead of suddenly springing it on people, but I'll probably pass. They charge too much for individual outfits in SF6 to make them worth bothering with.
I actually wouldn't have grouped PAL and Japan on this one since they are different enough that I do have an opinion on it and it's that the PAL one is better because the Krauser shot is really overly large and draws too much attention away from the actual main characters and also they have two touching pictures of Leon for no apparent reason.
Although while I think it's easily the worst of the lot in execution I do think the NA one deserves credit for being the only one that actually understood the title.
Not a game I'd particularly recommend. Like, it's fun to play, not much mechanically wrong with it and it'll certainly work if you're in the mood for a wrestling game, but a lot of aspects of the game this year feel really slapdash and thrown-together and lazy, and it seems like every time they patch one thing they break something else.
Then you have the aggressive hyper-monetization of it (especially with how recently MyFaction's suddenly way dried up on being able to win free packs while over doubling the cost of them), stuff like them just patching out Elite Cody the other day while not bothering to mention it to anyone in the patch notes, and the ongoing fiasco that is the first DLC pack still not being finished releasing even after the second's already come out. Game's just kind of a mess.
I did a run of Odyssey the other day. It's definitely not the glowup that Scarlet and Violet is, didn't notice a gigantic difference, but it was certainly nice.
Part of me feels curious to check if the Arcadia Bay Collection is less of a disaster on the Switch 2 but given those remasters were also terrible on more powerful hardware I'm guessing at most it improves the load times. The first game is okayish (though when I did a run of it on the Switch I had an issue toward the very end of the game where it kept crashing until I waited around in a room for a background radio broadcast to finish) but the Before the Storm port is a complete mess.
I've been watching for Buried Stars to be on sale for like two years so I'll probably pick that up, maybe Tomba or Anonymous;Code. In terms of the Nintendo-published stuff I've got everything I'd particularly want. Keep wondering about checking out Unicorn Overlord but I think I'll wait until it's cheaper.
It's only a 10% discount but kind of surprised there's no mention of the fact Hundred Line is on sale. Super, super recommend that, especially after all the recent quality of life improvements.
I picked up a 256 GB, which has been fine but has definitely felt like a step back from 1.5 TB one I have for my OLED. Isn't too big a hassle to shuffle games in and out for now but I probably will pick up bigger at some point down the line.
Only exposure I've ever had to Strikers was playing the demo for the Switch one and not enjoying it. Generally hear this one is much better so I'll probably give it a look.

Oh, wow, a Level-5 game not releasing on time, I am shocked.

I never really spent a huge amount of time with Crash back in the day and even I thought the remake's jumping felt super weird and awkward.

The first time around I basically played it like twice then stopped bothering to check in, really just not at all my thing.

Re: Review: No Sleep For Kaname Date - From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES (Switch 2) - Fun Cast, Weak Twists In This Satisfying Spin-Off
Super eager for it, definitely a, "Drop everything when it comes out and focus on getting through this," game for me.
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th July (North America)
Just waiting for No Sleep for Kaname Date at the moment.
