I really hope I’m wrong but I have a bad feeling about this movie. Something just isn’t sitting right with me and I can’t pinpoint it.

"best opening day so far this year" - a couple things:
1. Given the crap that Hollywood has spit out lately that’s not hard to do.
2. Glad it’s doing well. This world deserves more good movies without ulterior motives. Means we will get more.
3. Enjoy it while it lasts…July is right around the corner and Spider-Man is going to clean house. I have to admit though I really hope Mario wins the box office war for 2026. Much bigger fan of Mario than Spider-Man.

If I can’t be at my PC then I certainly prefer NMS on my Switch 2 over my Steam Deck. It’s the game that keeps on giving.

It was aight. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn’t had work on my mind…..my job is burdensome here lately. I would like to see it again but just for me, my wife, and our two kids it was $80 so I think I’m gonna have to wait to see it when it releases on disc (yes, I still soak up physical media).

Not even sure why this poll was put up honestly. I went against the grain though with Jill Valentine although Leon in RE2 was pretty memorable.

Why not just play them in the order of release? 🤯

@NolandC my Wii U disagrees. I’ve gone through 3 batteries on the Gamepad. I’ve gone through 2 on my New Nintendo 3DS. Luckily those were easy to replace. While theoretically they should last that long the truth is not all batteries are created equally. You either get lucky or you don’t. I’ve had other products not last very long as well that are much newer than those two examples.

Honestly I think all electronics need to have the ability to easily replace the battery without having to break it down like you’re performing surgery.

I wouldn’t bother honestly. I played 1 & 2 when they released on Dreamcast….waited something like 18 years after the cliffhanger in 2 and was severely let down by 3 when it eventually released and I still have no closure with the likelihood of 4 never being made…

I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I was born early 80’s and my parents even got my name from Star Wars. I have a huge collection that spills across a couple rooms in my house (my wife hates it). Star Wars is dead. Kennedy and the story group killed it. Filoni has an uphill battle on a slippery slope to right the ship and I’m not too confident he can do it. All that to say I probably won’t get this. Not a huge fan of Monopoly 😂

I gave the demo a try and it never caught my interest. The repetitive smashing things quickly became boring and if we are being honest, somewhat irritating.

The water/sweat on skin effects still haven’t gotten any better after all these years. Other than that the game looks great on both platforms. Still though I’m glad I purchased on Steam. The game is pretty phenomenal on my PC.

I got like two right. Pokemon has never been my jam despite trying to force myself to like it.

People are gonna “people” and ruin it for others no matter what. Humanity has a long history of doing awful things. Asking them to stop isn’t going to have an impact. Some people just love being jerks.

As an owner of the actual VB that’s not the score I would have given it. That’s being a little too “nice”.

I was there for it when it released. I remember having a good time with it. I really didn’t start appreciating the series though till A Link to the Past.

Here’s the thing I would like someone to make sense of: a set of these joycon are $100….a piece of plastic resembling a Virtual Boy is the same price. Why?

The colors on them aren’t noticeable at all. Nintendo kinda shot themselves in the foot with that. For those who like minimalistic color accents I guess this is good news but that’s not me.

@kurtasbestos there was some hokey stuff in TOS but it’s got some really good episodes and was generally great sci-fi for it’s time. After TNG it’s my fav. Voyager though ranks 4th with me right behind DS9.

As a lifelong Trekkie this game is probably the closest thing to actual Star Trek we’ve gotten in ages. Everything else recently has been parody or agenda experiments (with the exception of Picard season 3 …but even that show has some major issues) and sometimes a combination of both. I played the demo in Steam. It’s entertaining but plays like a mobile game.

Even if I didn’t have the actual VB, $100 for some plastic is a little nuts in this economy and the cardboard is……well, cardboard. Cool that a generation that never experienced the real thing is getting to do that though but honestly after having Meta Quest, PlayStation VR and all the other VR headsets in the wild for awhile now I’ll be shocked if anyone actually walks away thoroughly impressed.

I have the Switch version (now Switch 2) and have it on Steam. I guess I’ve played it so much on Steam that it doesn’t seem like an improvement to me but I’ve rarely touched my Switch copy 😬

I have no expectations. I have no high hopes either. Expect mediocre and you can’t be disappointed. I would kinda like to see EA College Football on S2 though…. I have a meeting with them next week so perhaps I’ll bring up the subject then…

This game wasn’t great when it released a year ago. I played a game on Steam (I was part of the early access) and went back to Civ 6 immediately. Over the year they have been steadily making updates improving this game and it’s gotten so so much better. You can tell they are trying to right the ship. I recently even picked up a second copy on Switch 2 just for the seamless mouse mode which honestly is better implemented on the S2 than on my Steam Deck (my PC still reigns supreme though). This game is shaping up to be pretty good and the huge Test of Time release is gonna be a game changer. Love this game. Couldn’t say that a year ago.

I pulled my VB from the attic not long ago, dusted it off, and played a bit then immediately questioned why I ever bought it so many years ago. I’ll just stick to my Quest 3 and soon to be my Steam Frame when it releases.

Sadly not much. I don’t like the current state of the gaming industry. If I had to pick any of them I guess it would be Professor Layton and maybe Legacy of the Dark Knight but honestly I’ll probably end up getting both on Steam.

Love my PC and Steam Deck. My Switch 2 is basically a dust collector at this point. It seriously needs more/better games. Civ 7 is about the only game I play on it simply because I like the mouse features it has. My Steam copy has it too but its a bit more involved when playing it on my Steam Deck docked on my tv and the Switch mouse mode is a tad more seamless otherwise I usually just play it on PC.

I’m not surprised one bit to see the Steam Deck above the Switch 2 though. Sure S2 is slightly more powerful but most devs develop for PC so really they are already good to go on the SD unless they are so heavy on the requirements to run it that the SD can’t handle it at all but there aren’t many games like that. The user can also just tweak the settings on the SD. In terms of games the SD, at least for the time being, is superior.

I won’t be getting it. I’d rather pass 20 kidney stones…. I’ll stick to my 3DS.

I’m still finding it hard to call this an “arcade controller” when it doesn’t have a proper joystick.

That’s great and all but enhancing old games isn’t why people buy new consoles. Refocus your efforts on new games, Nintendo. If things keep at this rate this will be the last Nintendo console I own….that is if the industry survives this slump they currently find themselves in. The system was in development for quite some time. To say something like "just give them time..the console hasn't even been out a year" is just giving them a free pass. There is no excuse and the fact that they didn't get dev kits out (and still haven't in some cases) just boggles my mind. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

@Ganner thanks! I really appreciate that! I’m gonna have to check out The Brian Setzer Orchestra. I play guitar as well just not nearly as well as I do my trumpet but I’m a lover of all music.

I’d like to play some more Civ 7 this weekend but alas I have an orchestral performance Sunday that I’ve been preparing for all week/weekend. I can’t feel my face (I play trumpet). It’s a long weekend though (got Monday off) so I’ll be diving in as soon as the performance is over.

Despite the fact that I think they should have came out of the gate with an OLED model, that I so desperately wanted at the time, if they release one now I will not buy it. Having owned the S2 since launch, there is nothing I’ve played so far that makes me feel I need to throw hundreds of more dollars at Nintendo for an upgraded S2. I haven’t been impressed so far. If anything this is, as someone else stated, a different sku that has alternate color joycons, or a less expensive “lite” version to try to attract more buyers given the current state of the gaming industry.

I’d rather Nintendo focus their efforts on creating new games than giving us slightly upgraded versions of games we have been playing for years.

I’m playing some more Civ 7. There’s a nasty little city state that’s been a thorn in my side for quite awhile now and despite my efforts to play nice with them they are still “hostile” so I think I’m finally just gonna wipe them off the map. They are about to find out the true power of FAFO.

This game was only “barely” Metroid. It doesn’t “feel” like the other Prime games. Sadly I like MP3 better than this “effort” and that is really saying something.

I’ve decided to go back to Civ 7 after almost a year having played it. I was disgusted by it when it first released having bought it Day 1 on Steam (haven’t touched it since my first game on it) and after the many updates they’ve provided since, I can say it’s on track to be a decent game. Civ 6 is still lightyears better though.

I have the game on Steam. It’s okay-ish but Rise is better but unless they seriously gimp the S2 edition of Wilds it’s going to run like garbage.

Does anyone actually ever win these things? I’ve entered so many over the years.

You can’t really properly play a fighting game without traditional D-pad. Sure you can use the stick but it’s annoying putting in combos and not it’s usually as fast. For anything else I’m fine with how the joycon are now but yeah I agree, we need a real D-pad.

Yeah I'm bothered by it. Games shouldn't lose their human element. AI is lazy and looks worse than if an actual person did it themselves. If large corporations are going to insist on using this garbage then they need to get used to not getting my money....that or decrease the price of games greatly since they aren't having to pay a human to do the job for them and even then I probably still won't buy it. AI as a tool for asking questions, cleaning up an email, etc....sure..that's fine. Using as a creative source to sell to others..absolutely not and this is coming from a guy that works in tech.
