A great trailer but not as exciting as the Switch 1 trailer with Imagine Dragon’s “Believer”.

Day 1 for me for sure despite the fact I own the OG arcade cabinets. Absolutely love old school MK. New MK not so much. I use to compete in many MK tournaments in the 90’s and won several of them. I had about a 2 year win streak once till one unfortunate day when I was working in the local arcade. Remind me to tell you the story sometime…

Off topic, for those lacking a Yunobo amiibo in the States, I got a preorder in yesterday with Books-A-Million and just got notification that it shipped.

I beat the game but it's doubtful I will return to it any time soon even with the updates.

Pretty much a needless article just to be able to brag? "Nintendo Gaming Site Got a Switch 2 Unit"....Whaaaaaaaaat? Nooooooo..you don't say! Well, I for one am SHOCKED, I tell you!

I put in many hours on this game on Steam and honestly I'm not sure why. I think it was one of those games that I really wanted it to be great so I kept playing waiting for it to shine but at the end of the day its just a space crafting game with a little bit of flight simulation and a very watered down online "multiplayer". Of course I haven't played it in about a year so it could have changed...

No analog triggers are what’s holding me back. To not have that in 2025 is akin to using a CRT TV.

It' a no-go for launch from me....I don't care how "good" it is. A tech demo should be just that...a demo. In the corporate world when I have to give a demo we don't charge the customer for it. We don't charge the customer after they bought our product and we are giving them a training session. I'm not feeding the greed on this one. Kudos to those who will get some enjoyment out of it though.

I'm going to have to agree with @Smithicus on this one; the Switch 2 launch lineup is highly disappointing. This seems to be the sentiment with my friends and everyone at work as well. Some skipped preorders just because the games are seriously lacking and the ones who do have preorders, myself included, are just incredibly "meh" when it comes to hype/excitement for it.

As for Silksong...I was looking forward to playing this a few years ago but having to wait so long for a 2D platformer has kinda just killed that excitement. You can only maintain hype for a 2D game for so long, ya know? I'll play it, yes, when/if it ever releases.

@SirLink where did you see rumble and motion won’t be supported for the Ultimate 2 on Switch 2?

Still have my OG copy but it’s in the attic lol. Definitely looking forward to getting into this again especially with online functionality. Gonna have to dust off my skills with my boy Cervantes. Fair warning for those who didn’t play it back in the day, don’t “main” Kilik unless you’re ready to be ridiculed. He is pretty much a button masher character.

I respect the original. I have fond memories playing it but after playing the Link’s Awakening remake I couldn’t go back to it. The remake is just perfection IMO.

Shenmue 3 should have wrapped up the story.18 years we waited for some sorta closure and did the third one deliver?!! NO! I’m pretty much done with the series after that but I do have fond memories of the first game on Dreamcast, especially collecting the games you could play in Ryo’s house, the games you could play in the arcade, and all the other collectibles. I also liked how Yokosuka would change depending on the real life season you were playing the game in. Christmas time was magical.

@obijuankanoobie definitely not looking forward to very much on this list and honestly I’m just feeling very “meh” about it. This has got to be one of the most boring console launches of all time and that’s including N64 that launched with a few games but Mario 64 in itself was way more exciting than this.

This isn’t going to go far. As many have said already Jones signed over the right for Disney to use his voice for future Darth Vader dialog. SAG AFTRA sees the writing on the wall and they are grasping at straws. I don’t agree with AI voices but the man, rest his soul, gave them permission. His family even gave their blessing on this collab as the article states (https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/darth-vader-fortnite-disney-epic/). Yeah it says “replace the work of human performers with A.I. technology” but honestly that’s their prerogative. I don’t support use of AI as I have mentioned but there is no law stating a game has to use real voice actors. That’s like suing a film company for using CGI characters instead of real people who could have filled the role who actually need a job (* cough * Snow White * cough *). SAG can go touch grass.

@kalosn I really liked Nintendo Land. I really wish they would do something like that again. Mario Chase was a HUGE hit with my family.

I like Mario Kart but honestly I’m kinda disappointed we don’t have a better launch title. MK has never held my attention long and for me it gets boring after a while. I don’t think I’ve ever logged more than 50 hours on a MK title. Maybe a little more possibly (like 60) for MK7 on 3DS but I think that was more due to the fact that I was addicted to my 3DS and carried it with me everywhere due to its compactness.

I’m holding off for Switch 2 release.

I’m playing Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass! I’m curious to know who the other person is that voted for it. All these game keycard/code in a box dilemmas has driven me to cherish my physical collection even more so I’m giving it some attention starting with Phantom Hourglass.

@speed_loafer I got the same email! I already have a preorder through Walmart but I’m still hoping to land one from Nintendo for a friend.

Its actually pushed me to my other consoles/PC. Been playing my PC and Steam Deck quite a bit and in a weird twist its turned me towards my 3DS. I decided to do another playthrough of Phantom Hourglass (which is a DS game LOL). I don't think Mario Kart World is going to be enough to hold my attention on June 5th...Once Donkey Kong and Metroid Prime 4 releases though people are probably going to put out a missing person report on me.

@Nua holy flying ferrets Batman! You’re right! I just looked at the site and I was totally wrong! I guess I was thinking the product listing for the original Ultimate but this is fantastic! This definitely make my decision for me…plus it has that charging station for it. Win win. Thanks! I appreciate the correction!

I know I'm eventually gonna pull the trigger on one of these but haven't as of yet. That sticker price is cray cray and I was about to go with a 8BitDo Ultimate 2 but then realized the other day while playing Splatoon 3 that I actually use the gyros more than I thought I did and figured I would miss that if playing on the Ultimate 2 that doesn't have gyros....so yeah, I'll probably eventually get one but for now I'm still pouting I suppose about a $90 controller...

I honestly can’t wait. Been waiting for this for quite awhile now. Fantasy Life on my 3DS still remains my most played game just after Animal Crossing of course. Oddly enough I’ve been playing my 3DS a ton lately. I gotta say, I miss that form factor it had.

The Pikmin series is just fantastic! I absolutely adore it and why there isn't going to be a Switch 2 version defies all logic. That's not to say that they aren't planning on it though and just keeping it under their hats for the moment. I would jump all over a Pikmin collection of games remastered/remade for the Switch 2.

I’ll probably be picking this up. Just not sure which platform. I’ve been playing VF since the day it released.

Busting out the Sega CD this weekend for some fun on Sewer Shark.

It’s about time! I remember sitting in my RA’s apartment at the basement of our building with all our friends on weekends eating junk food, partying and playing the heck out of Goldeneye. Those were the golden years (no pun intended).

I have my Switch 2 preordered but I’m really hoping game sales plummet due to stupid decisions like this. I know the higher prices and code in a box thing are definitely going to make me more selective about the Switch games I buy.

Don’t care. Give me a proper port of WW HD. Can’t go back to this one after having played HD.

Personally I think an “open world” kart game is kinda weird and bound to not have enough to actually “do” to justify the price tag. GTA6 will surely be the opposite of that and offer tons of content for the entry fee. As a guy who doesn’t particularly care for the GTA games even I can see that. I really think Nintendo has lost their hanafuda cards about this whole dynamic pricing thing.

I’m a little intrigued actually. Might pick one of these up at some point.

@Jack_Goetz yeah I'm really thinking that now is the right time to start focusing on adding to my "retro" gaming collections and filling out my libraries on SNES, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, DS/3DS, Gamecube, etc...

I'm definitely going to be more selective about the games I buy, especially from Nintendo. I usually buy everything they put out but with these parasitic prices I'm going to have to pick and choose which ones I own. This in effect is going to make me primarily a PC/Handheld PC gamer with the Switch 2 being my secondary console whereas before I was a Nintendo first kinda guy with everything else falling in behind. The prices and sales on Steam can't be beat anywhere else...

A company that it isn't giving the consumer the proverbial middle finger....mad respect from me! More companies need to think like this one. They "get it". For Nintendo being in a land that is all about honor and respect, you think they would have the same for their customers.

As if we could forget with the countdown in our face every time we visit this site…
