I like Mario Kart but honestly I’m kinda disappointed we don’t have a better launch title. MK has never held my attention long and for me it gets boring after a while. I don’t think I’ve ever logged more than 50 hours on a MK title. Maybe a little more possibly (like 60) for MK7 on 3DS but I think that was more due to the fact that I was addicted to my 3DS and carried it with me everywhere due to its compactness.

I’m holding off for Switch 2 release.

I’m playing Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass! I’m curious to know who the other person is that voted for it. All these game keycard/code in a box dilemmas has driven me to cherish my physical collection even more so I’m giving it some attention starting with Phantom Hourglass.

@speed_loafer I got the same email! I already have a preorder through Walmart but I’m still hoping to land one from Nintendo for a friend.

Its actually pushed me to my other consoles/PC. Been playing my PC and Steam Deck quite a bit and in a weird twist its turned me towards my 3DS. I decided to do another playthrough of Phantom Hourglass (which is a DS game LOL). I don't think Mario Kart World is going to be enough to hold my attention on June 5th...Once Donkey Kong and Metroid Prime 4 releases though people are probably going to put out a missing person report on me.

@Nua holy flying ferrets Batman! You’re right! I just looked at the site and I was totally wrong! I guess I was thinking the product listing for the original Ultimate but this is fantastic! This definitely make my decision for me…plus it has that charging station for it. Win win. Thanks! I appreciate the correction!

I know I'm eventually gonna pull the trigger on one of these but haven't as of yet. That sticker price is cray cray and I was about to go with a 8BitDo Ultimate 2 but then realized the other day while playing Splatoon 3 that I actually use the gyros more than I thought I did and figured I would miss that if playing on the Ultimate 2 that doesn't have gyros....so yeah, I'll probably eventually get one but for now I'm still pouting I suppose about a $90 controller...

I honestly can’t wait. Been waiting for this for quite awhile now. Fantasy Life on my 3DS still remains my most played game just after Animal Crossing of course. Oddly enough I’ve been playing my 3DS a ton lately. I gotta say, I miss that form factor it had.

The Pikmin series is just fantastic! I absolutely adore it and why there isn't going to be a Switch 2 version defies all logic. That's not to say that they aren't planning on it though and just keeping it under their hats for the moment. I would jump all over a Pikmin collection of games remastered/remade for the Switch 2.

I’ll probably be picking this up. Just not sure which platform. I’ve been playing VF since the day it released.

Busting out the Sega CD this weekend for some fun on Sewer Shark.

It’s about time! I remember sitting in my RA’s apartment at the basement of our building with all our friends on weekends eating junk food, partying and playing the heck out of Goldeneye. Those were the golden years (no pun intended).

I have my Switch 2 preordered but I’m really hoping game sales plummet due to stupid decisions like this. I know the higher prices and code in a box thing are definitely going to make me more selective about the Switch games I buy.

Don’t care. Give me a proper port of WW HD. Can’t go back to this one after having played HD.

Personally I think an “open world” kart game is kinda weird and bound to not have enough to actually “do” to justify the price tag. GTA6 will surely be the opposite of that and offer tons of content for the entry fee. As a guy who doesn’t particularly care for the GTA games even I can see that. I really think Nintendo has lost their hanafuda cards about this whole dynamic pricing thing.

I’m a little intrigued actually. Might pick one of these up at some point.

@Jack_Goetz yeah I'm really thinking that now is the right time to start focusing on adding to my "retro" gaming collections and filling out my libraries on SNES, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, DS/3DS, Gamecube, etc...

I'm definitely going to be more selective about the games I buy, especially from Nintendo. I usually buy everything they put out but with these parasitic prices I'm going to have to pick and choose which ones I own. This in effect is going to make me primarily a PC/Handheld PC gamer with the Switch 2 being my secondary console whereas before I was a Nintendo first kinda guy with everything else falling in behind. The prices and sales on Steam can't be beat anywhere else...

A company that it isn't giving the consumer the proverbial middle finger....mad respect from me! More companies need to think like this one. They "get it". For Nintendo being in a land that is all about honor and respect, you think they would have the same for their customers.

As if we could forget with the countdown in our face every time we visit this site…

All the more reason not to buy it…..not that we needed any more reasons.

Fun fact: I was a Sega fanboy long before I was a Nintendo fanboy. I’m absolutely thrilled Ecco is finally getting a new entry and remasters.

I love Star Wars. Been a fan since the 80’s but it doesn’t matter what platform they put this on, I’m still not getting it. Trash is trash no matter what it’s on.

Personally I’ve never cared for GTA which would stand to reason I’ve never “anticipated” any of its releases. Elder Scrolls on the other hand….

Not trying to be insensitive, people lost their jobs and that sucks but Polygon reaped what they sowed and I’ll leave it at that.

None. I have plenty of micro sd express cards I can repurpose thanks to my photography hobby and my OG Switch pro controllers will suffice for a little bit.

@kal_el_07241 as former Magic the Gathering collector and a current player of Star Wars Unlimited I would have to say that’s a tad different. We aren’t sitting there making mechanical peripherals out of our cards that will eventually break down and not work properly and tying it to some watered down mobile app-like games. 🫠

I’ll never forgive Nintendo for selling us cardboard.

@KayFiOS just curious does the FiOS in your name stand for fiber optic service as in the Verizon service?

I love this game. It’s probably my favorite Zelda of all time honestly. It got me through a rough time when I was in the military. However, now that I’ve experienced the HD version on Wii U I would rather much have a portable version of that. I was really holding out hope for it on the OG Switch after we got Skyward Sword HD.

I'm pretty sure I'm not buying anything gaming related for awhile after dropping near $700 USD for the Switch 2 and amiibo/games the other night...

I was able to secure the other three but really disappointed I can't find Yunobo anywhere...I'll import if I have to. Unfortunately I'm a completionist when it comes to my Zelda amiibo. I have all of them so when they announced these 4 and the fifth for later this year I was highly disappointed that I'm going to have to buy more amiibo. Nintendo apparently knows my weaknesses.

Are you guys seeing Yunobo across the pond over there? All of them but that one seems to be available here. I’m kinda wondering if it’s due to the tariff thing and they are considering jacking the price up a little more since Yunobo is kind of a bigger amiibo compared to the rest…or it could just be I’m trying to concoct a conspiracy theory but every major retailer seems to not have put it on preorder.

This looks like if you took Sea of Thieves and crossed it with Legend of Zelda.....but done cheaply. It totally looks like they ripped off albeit a watered down, third person version of Sea of Thieves though. Also...can we get rid of the intrusive, annoying McDonald's ads that keep popping up? They make me want to throw my computer/phone.

Walmart let me queue in line about 2 minutes before "go live" last night. It was my last resort. I tried Best Buy and Target...both were $***shows. Walmart let me in my 10 minute window 6 minutes after "go live" and got it in. Subsequently I checked Walmart today about 6 different times and about 5 of those I could have checked out with more preorders but A) I don't think you can get anymore than 1...I might be wrong on that and B) I don't need that many Switch 2s and C) I'm not a bloodsucking scalper.

@Scarmucci RIGHT?!! I got the other three preordered via Best Buy but I'll be darned if I can find Yunobo anywhere...

@Burning_Spear yep it was for shipping but even then they might be sending the units to the closest store and having someone deliver them on the morning of launch, kinda like when you do a regular online order for delivery and someone from your local store delivers it. I think this is how Walmart is able to tell people it will be at your door no later than 9 a.m. on launch day.
