Re: Forget The Retail Delay, Nintendo's Tucking Alarmo In At Japanese Hotels

KayFiOS

It's funny I wake up to an article about the Alarmo, because this morning, when my alarm went off with Minigame: Bird-Man Research Study, I was on the opposite end of the bed, and didn't want to move over to press the snooze button, but my cat ended up pushing it and I went back to sleep with The Great Plateau playing for a short while. Good boy.

Re: 69 Games You Should Pick Up In Nintendo's 'Supercharge' eShop Sale (North America)

KayFiOS

Not a bad list, and I definitely recommend The Messenger to anyone who's played Sea of Stars and wants more lore from that world, and I also encourage anyone who played The Messenger to give Sea of Stars a try. And if you haven't played either, pick up both; Sabotage Studios is an insanely talented group of devs!
I got a $50 eShop card on my birthday during the weekend, and ended up picking up Dead Cells, which isn't on this list, but currently you can get the base game and its DLC for slightly less than the regular price of the former.
I managed to pick up both that bundle and Cult of the Lamb at regular price, and with my gold points, didn't spend any money of my own!

Re: Poll: So, Were You Accepted For The Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-On Event?

KayFiOS

Even if I didn't live in one of the 47 states where the event isn't being held, I wouldn't apply for the fact that it would probably be at a location I would have to drive out to anyway, only to deal with an enormous crowd of gamers (which probably doesn't smell any different from an EVO convention), when I could just enjoy the Switch 2 from the comfort of home when it releases, and not be restricted to a set time limit.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th January)

KayFiOS

Last night I defeated Ansem in my level 1 playthrough of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. All that's left is to defeat Sephiroth (God help me...), then I can grind my way to level 100, then bag a few other achievements.
EDIT: Well I streamed for 6 hours and managed to make it to Sephiroth's final phase one time very early on, mostly because I was using elixirs more often than I should have, and didn't have any left when I reached that point. But I at least got a strategy down for phase 1. Really hope I can figure something out for the other phases, because right now I'm too committed to want to give up.

Re: 'Sonic Jam' Skin Is Now Free For All Owners Of Sonic X Shadow Generations

KayFiOS

Okay, for real, this is how it should have been from the beginning. Why on earth do you even ask people to sign up to the newsletter in the first place? They're only doing it because they want the skin, so just give them the skin! Or don't. I would rather pay $0.99 for this novelty skin than sign up to a damn newsletter I would otherwise not give a toss about!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th January)

I've been playing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix on LV1 Proud Mode, and before I have a little chat with Riku which may or may not cause Heartless to universally have higher stats, I'm working on farming for synthesis items, because I am going for the Ultima keyblade, and possibly Jiminy's Journal if I can.

Re: Best Of 2024: 20 Years On, Pikmin 2's Waterwraith Remains Nintendo's Scariest Moment

KayFiOS

I think Plasm Wraith was more terrifying. Trying to juggle between three captains to lure it away from the other two while they solve puzzles and clear the way, all while the music gets more intense as it gets closer to Olimar... I'll say it, the series peaked with the third entry, and Plasm Wraith was a much better final boss than Emperor Bulblax, Titan Dweevil, and even Ancient Sirehound!

Re: Sega Is "Evaluating" Its Own Netflix-Style Subscription Service

KayFiOS

If they're going to do a subscription service, it needs games for the Genesis, 32x, Saturn, CD, and Dreamcast. Hell, put in some oddities like the Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast, or Knuckles Chaotix for the 32x, maybe even the CD version of Mega Man 8 and Symphony of the Night; stuff that hasn't seen the light of day since it released on those old systems!

Re: 'Nintendo Music' Adds A Huge Zelda Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included

KayFiOS

@nessisonett I feel like any Zelda fan can recognize the artwork for Skyward Sword, especially when the headline eliminates all but 4~ mainline entries that haven't been added yet. If you saw the thumbnail and clicked the article thinking Nintendo was adding music from Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land, then I dunno what to tell ya. 🤷

Re: Michel Ancel Says Beyond Good & Evil 2 Development Issues Due To "Problems Between Managers"

KayFiOS

Ubisoft just doesn't know what to do with this series. Based on Jade and Pey'j's appearance in Captain Laserhawk, I'm pretty sure they don't even know who those characters are, otherwise we wouldn't have seen Jade in a dress or Pey'j giving a ridiculously awkward confession of love. I'd rather have an up and coming indie developer create a spiritual successor for this series, or have Ubisoft go under and have to sell their IPs to companies that will actually respect them.

Re: A Handful Of "Hidden" Splatoon 2 Tracks Have Been Removed From Nintendo Music

KayFiOS

This is such a bizarre decision. It's not like these tracks being available in the app really hurt anything; it was just a nice little secret for people to find if they wanted to. And then they have the chutzpah to say "Thank you for understanding." I can't understand. The only way I'll understand is if they fixed the Splatoon 2 soundtrack to include them.
I thought maybe these tracks were removed because they don't appear in game, but that defense fell apart quickly after I realized Breath of the Wild's E3 2014/Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 trailer music isn't just on the app; it's actually in the soundtrack, so you don't have to search for it and download it to be able to listen to it!
