It's funny I wake up to an article about the Alarmo, because this morning, when my alarm went off with Minigame: Bird-Man Research Study, I was on the opposite end of the bed, and didn't want to move over to press the snooze button, but my cat ended up pushing it and I went back to sleep with The Great Plateau playing for a short while. Good boy.
@Rhaoulos Why anyone would research a game to such an extent that it consumes their lives is a fair question to ask, but to answer that, we need to talk about parallel universes.
I hope the game starts with 12 cups like MK8DX, and I also hope that this game offers a broad selection of battle stages, because I feel like that's where its predecessor came up short, especially after BCP added more stages for races, but not battles.
Man, as much as I'm enjoying it, this release is so messy, and $60 really doesn't seem like a good price for something that doesn't seem to have a whole lot of care put into it. This may as well have kept its $20 Nintendo Selects price on Wii and 3DS; Metroid Prime got a much better remaster, and it only cost $40. This is just embarrassing for Nintendo.
Not a bad list, and I definitely recommend The Messenger to anyone who's played Sea of Stars and wants more lore from that world, and I also encourage anyone who played The Messenger to give Sea of Stars a try. And if you haven't played either, pick up both; Sabotage Studios is an insanely talented group of devs!
I got a $50 eShop card on my birthday during the weekend, and ended up picking up Dead Cells, which isn't on this list, but currently you can get the base game and its DLC for slightly less than the regular price of the former.
I managed to pick up both that bundle and Cult of the Lamb at regular price, and with my gold points, didn't spend any money of my own!
I knew it was a matter of time before they started rehashing old themes, but at least it means they'll probably support Splatfests for a while... Even if I stopped playing after the Grand Fest
Even if I didn't live in one of the 47 states where the event isn't being held, I wouldn't apply for the fact that it would probably be at a location I would have to drive out to anyway, only to deal with an enormous crowd of gamers (which probably doesn't smell any different from an EVO convention), when I could just enjoy the Switch 2 from the comfort of home when it releases, and not be restricted to a set time limit.
Last night I defeated Ansem in my level 1 playthrough of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. All that's left is to defeat Sephiroth (God help me...), then I can grind my way to level 100, then bag a few other achievements.
EDIT: Well I streamed for 6 hours and managed to make it to Sephiroth's final phase one time very early on, mostly because I was using elixirs more often than I should have, and didn't have any left when I reached that point. But I at least got a strategy down for phase 1. Really hope I can figure something out for the other phases, because right now I'm too committed to want to give up.
If your smartphone has Google Lens, I suggest taking a picture of the menu and translating it through that. The quality of the translation is probably about what you'd expect from Google translate, but it'll get the job done.
This is the first time hearing about OFF coming to switch. I'll definitely be picking this one up, especially if there's a physical version through Fangamer!
I almost had a heart attack, because I thought we were getting a Satellaview game...
Still, I didn't know Sutte Hakkun got a cartridge release. The more you know.
I think Grant forgets what the last Banjo-Kazooie game was. I think as long as the game is better than Nuts & Bolts and Yooka-Laylee, I'm fairly certain even the most diehard fans will be pleased.
Okay, for real, this is how it should have been from the beginning. Why on earth do you even ask people to sign up to the newsletter in the first place? They're only doing it because they want the skin, so just give them the skin! Or don't. I would rather pay $0.99 for this novelty skin than sign up to a damn newsletter I would otherwise not give a toss about!
I don't know if Monster Games is included in the credits, I'm guessing not, despite the 3DS version being the basis for this port. If Metroid Prime Remastered is anything to go by, they're not going to do anything about it.
I've only played Return of the King on GameCube, and I remember it being a great time, especially in co-op. It would be nice if EA remastered that and Two Towers.
@RupeeClock Oh I understand the reasoning behind it, but it's not going to stop me from poking fun at these things for how silly they look. I'll take any excuse to talk smack about McDonald's!
I know McDonald's isn't a paragon of quality or anything, but damn! They brought down the quality of their toys to a point where it almost matches the quality of their food now!
I've been playing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix on LV1 Proud Mode, and before I have a little chat with Riku which may or may not cause Heartless to universally have higher stats, I'm working on farming for synthesis items, because I am going for the Ultima keyblade, and possibly Jiminy's Journal if I can.
As much as I liked Sonic 3, My mind is immediately jumping to what I didn't like about it, a lot of Sonic's dialogue. I feel like they would write in a "Konnichi-whaaaaat?!" style quip like "Tingle, Tingle, kooloo-lim-PUH-LEASE!"
I think Plasm Wraith was more terrifying. Trying to juggle between three captains to lure it away from the other two while they solve puzzles and clear the way, all while the music gets more intense as it gets closer to Olimar... I'll say it, the series peaked with the third entry, and Plasm Wraith was a much better final boss than Emperor Bulblax, Titan Dweevil, and even Ancient Sirehound!
If they're going to do a subscription service, it needs games for the Genesis, 32x, Saturn, CD, and Dreamcast. Hell, put in some oddities like the Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast, or Knuckles Chaotix for the 32x, maybe even the CD version of Mega Man 8 and Symphony of the Night; stuff that hasn't seen the light of day since it released on those old systems!
I really want to play Tales of the Abyss in multiplayer. I've only played it on the 3DS, and it's become one of my favorite 3DS games, despite how crusty it is sometimes. For my next playthrough, I'm definitely avoiding Luke as much as I can, probably in favor of Anise or Jade.
@nessisonett I feel like any Zelda fan can recognize the artwork for Skyward Sword, especially when the headline eliminates all but 4~ mainline entries that haven't been added yet. If you saw the thumbnail and clicked the article thinking Nintendo was adding music from Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land, then I dunno what to tell ya. 🤷
Well if I could say something positive about it, the gameplay looks interesting. Maybe this will be good. It's not a Re-Pac of any of the other PMW games, but I might pick it up.
Ubisoft just doesn't know what to do with this series. Based on Jade and Pey'j's appearance in Captain Laserhawk, I'm pretty sure they don't even know who those characters are, otherwise we wouldn't have seen Jade in a dress or Pey'j giving a ridiculously awkward confession of love. I'd rather have an up and coming indie developer create a spiritual successor for this series, or have Ubisoft go under and have to sell their IPs to companies that will actually respect them.
"Nate has been linked to various other Switch rumours this generation including Game Boy support for Switch Online and more recently its "successor" system supporting backwards compatibility."
As if neither of those sound like the safest assumptions one could have made about the Switch or its successor...
This is such a bizarre decision. It's not like these tracks being available in the app really hurt anything; it was just a nice little secret for people to find if they wanted to. And then they have the chutzpah to say "Thank you for understanding." I can't understand. The only way I'll understand is if they fixed the Splatoon 2 soundtrack to include them.
I thought maybe these tracks were removed because they don't appear in game, but that defense fell apart quickly after I realized Breath of the Wild's E3 2014/Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 trailer music isn't just on the app; it's actually in the soundtrack, so you don't have to search for it and download it to be able to listen to it!
Just a reminder that Switch 2's eShop is going to have Switch 1 games too. I think Nintendo needs to take action so that this slop isn't included in that catalog.
I'm surprised you haven't made an article on the new one where there's actual combat. I would think that you'd be praising that one for not being "boring," but I guess after this article, it's probably best you lay low.
I finally 100% completed Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days, and now I'm going to be streaming a LV1 Proud playthrough of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix (not the cloud version, but that was the only version of KH1 I could vote for).
@Darkri74345 That's what I'm thinking. A lot of these tracks would be over in a minute if they only looped once, but they've been extended to over 5 minutes for some reason, so the 35-minute run time of the entire album feels overblown. At least give us the Brain Age 2 and Devilish Training soundtracks as well.

Re: Capcom's Best-Selling Mega Man Game Reaches Another Sales Milestone
@canaryfarmer Charmingly bad English dubbing does nothing to stop me from hearing "JUMP! JUMP!" and "SLIDE! SLIDE!" every time I think of MM8.
Re: Capcom's Best-Selling Mega Man Game Reaches Another Sales Milestone
@canaryfarmer Third worst. It's easy to forget Mega Man & Bass, but I'm surprised you forgot Mega Man 8 as well.

Re: Square Enix Revives Super Mario RPG Soundtrack With Three New Music Products
Definitely adding this to my collection of vinyl records! Now if only I could find Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 for a reasonable price.
