Glad I picked up the cartridge dumper when I did. I still haven't used it, but if I ever want to play Smash Ultimate with mods, I'd rather dump the game and emulate it rather than pay someone to hard mod my old switch.
Pretty weak overall. Third party support has been great, but a lot of the games that I would have bought a physical copy of can be bought for cheaper and in an actual physical format on other systems.
After Shadow Labyrinth and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, I'm expecting this game to have an upgrade for people who buy the Switch 1 version, and it really sucks that Bandai Namco is only one of very few companies offering a free upgrade for cross-gen titles.
What a novel concept, charging more for a physical version to make up for the manufacturing costs, but actually having the game on the dang card! Capcom, Square-Enix, Bandai Namco, and SEGA should all be taking notes here!
I honestly don't know what to expect when I eventually play this game, but I did want to buy it to show my support because CDPR put this game on a proper game card and not a game key card like so many third parties are doing with their games.
I finally saw some Switch 2 units out in the wild a couple days ago. When I got mine, I arrived at just the right time for employees to bring the systems out of storage early in the morning. Hopefully more people who want one won't have to actively hunt it down like I did.
I already have the physical edition pre-ordered! I'm not sure who's doing the music this time around, but I hope it's Anamanaguchi! Whoever it is, I'm liking what I'm hearing in this trailer!
So glad I don't have to do the research tasks to get from 40 to 50 now, especially since I am always too busy to catch 200 Pokémon in a single day just to get to level 41. RIP to everyone that put up with those research tasks to get to 50, and now have even MORE tasks to complete!
Tried the mobile version. An APK isn't too hard to find thankfully, but download at your own discretion, Android users. This is oddly satisfying. It feels like a stress toy, but the novelty wears out quickly if you're an adult. My son might get good mileage out of it though.
I've done almost everything there is to do in Breath of the Wild. All that remains is the Trial of the Sword. I'm not going to do that just yet, as I want to study up on it, and I'll most likely be playing it during the week after work. Until then, I'll probably try getting all the amiibo exclusive weapons.
Heck yeah! Now Hollow Knight fans can wait forever for Silksong DLC! They might even end up waiting longer than Bloodstained fans did for Ritual of the Night to get its final DLC!
Breath of the Wild has given me a good glimpse and how a Switch 2 Edition can greatly improve a game, and I hope we see more of these announced, like Kirby Star Allies and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which still only run at 30 FPS during gameplay.
I would love to get into this series, but if the first two games aren't coming to Nintendo systems as well, then I may as well just get them on PS5 or steam...
My TLoZ: BotW S2E 100% Master Mode journey continues. I beat Monk Maz Koshia and got my dirt bike. Afterwards, I unlocked the final memory. Zelda keeps telling me I'm ready to defeat Calamity Ganon, but that's just plain poppycock! I still have 226 seeds and 19 shrines to find before I even consider going back to Hyrule Castle! Hang in there, Princess... I'll save you, eventually!
I already got a collection for one mouthy platforming mascot, and I'm sorry Bub, but Gex is just infinitely better in 2D and especially 3D!
There will be no Bubsy night!
My 100% playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Switch 2 Edition continues. I decided to only prioritize regions with a Divine Beast so I could enjoy the rest of my time exploring the other regions while riding on my Ducati. That said, I finished Zora's Domain, and I made a critical error: I forgot to snap a photo of the only Red-Maned Lynel spawn in Master Mode, meaning at some point, I need to allow a Blood Moon to happen so I can get the Zora Greaves. I was ready to leave the Lanayru region, when I stumbled upon a side quest, "Special Delivery." ...Where's Chris Hansen when you need him?
In addition to Mina the Hollower, I'm kind of hoping for Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX to make an appearance, with a release date and confirmation that all the crossover content with God of War, battletoads, and Arby's will be included.
@AverageGamer Well, it was a critical success at least, just not a financial one I guess. I'm guessing a lot of people who bought the first game and weren't impressed probably skipped TIL...
OMG YES! PW64 is one of my all-time favorite soundtracks! Dan Hess did an amazing job, and it's a shame only the original Pilotwings and Resort got musical representation in Smash!
@neil9000 If it was a budgetary decision, then I feel like someone is mismanaging funds, because the kickstarter was a massive success, and The Impossible Lair was a banger follow-up, so to cheap out and reuse a bunch of content that is still fairly fresh for a remaster I don't think anyone asked for... idk, I'm worried that Playtonic isn't doing so well, and this game isn't going to help with that.
@neil9000 Agreed. I want to see this team spread their wings, because I know that they can do more... Heck, a lot of people on the team are responsible for some of my favorite childhood games, like Diddy Kong Racing, and my heart yearns for them to make a spiritual successor to that game, but instead, they're going back to remaking a game that isn't even old enough to warrant getting a remake. Well, at the very least, I hope this version of the game is a lot more enjoyable. The original didn't really click with me, and that might have been partially due to me playing it on the Switch, but hopefully I have a better time on Switch 2.
As ambivalent as I am toward fortnite, their trailers usually go hard, and this is no exception! But where the heck are the pink, black, and green/white rangers? I'm guessing the other half of the team will be added later down the line, but it's so weird only seeing three rangers coming in to save the day lol
Well, the Hollow Knight fans didn't have to wait long to put on that clown makeup again... EDIT: I suppose I'll put my hopes/predictions here as well.
Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX release date, maybe even confirmation of the inclusion of all crossover content, including God of War, Battletoads, and Arby's (That last one is extremely important. If Arby's isn't represented, I will riot!).
Mina the Hollower release date/physical edition confirmation.
Yooka-Replaylee announcement/free Switch 2 update for Impossible Lair.
Inti-Creates. I'm not sure what, but it feels like it's been a while since they've released a game (and when I tried looking up what their most recent game was, I found out that apparently according to Reddit, a trailer was leaked a few weeks ago for a Switch 1/2 game, before quickly being removed, so I might have actually predicted something accurately here)
That's pretty much all I can really predict, because I feel like these indie presentations are more of a wild card, and you don't know what to expect.
I had a busy week so I wasn't able to make much progress on it since last week, but I just collected my 450th Korok seed in Breath of the Wild S2E, meaning I'm halfway done Korok hunting. It was around the 400 mark that I finally progressed the story a little bit by conquering my first Divine Beast. Revali's Gale is too useful to ignore any longer, especially since after I'm done spelunking in Hebra Mountains, I plan on rummaging through Gerudo Canyon, and I'll need to be able to climb the walls with ease. I'll probably go straight for the Eldin and Lanayru regions after clearing the highlands and knock out the other Divine beasts so I can get my cool motorcycle and enjoy using it for the rest of my completion run!
Again, I must praise the Zelda Notes app for making this 100% run feasible for someone like me who would have otherwise never considered completing BotW or TotK. I'm making steady progress in my Master Mode playthrough, and as someone who wasn't incredibly fond of either of these open world Zelda games, I'm starting to grow a newfound appreciation for them!
I think a lot of people (myself included) have already decided that they're getting DQ I&II HD-2D for Switch 1 and not Switch 2 for the sake of actually owning their physical game, but I appreciate that once I'm done playing through those games, DQ III will be enhanced and feel like I'm actually playing the third game, even if it came out before the other two games this time around.
I already have P3R on PS5, and the 1.0 version of the game is on the disc, no download required. I may have to download updates and DLC, but at least it's better than the Game Key Card.
I wish the Partner Showcase was more upfront about which games were going to get a Game Key Card release and which ones would get a proper physical release. As it stands though, I'll probably pick up the Switch 1 version, since it will look good next to PMW Re-Pac on my shelf. Hopefully if they Re-Pac PMW3, it will still be available on Switch 1 and not exclusive to its successor, otherwise I won't have a choice between a proper physical release and a Game Key Card.
I'm calling it now: We're not getting Persona 3 Reload, but instead SEGA/Atlus will release a 60fps version of Persona 5 Royal on Switch 2, and just like the PS5 version, there will be no upgrade path for people who own the last gen version.
This will most certainly be my last purchase from Limited Run, and only because I already own every other Shantae game physically on Switch. Really wish WayForward would find a different publisher, but there's probably a contract in place or something.
Edit: Oh wait, I do want that new Scott Pilgrim game physically...
I started The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition about 9 days ago, and I've been working towards 100% completion on my first Master Mode playthrough (thankfully, Trial of the Sword is not counted towards this goal). I'm currently at 32% so far, and I haven't set foot in any of the regions that have a Divine Beast yet. Zelda Notes has been a big help!

"Celebrates," as if Ubisoft did more than release some JPEGs they've been sitting on for god knows how long...
Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

Yeah, I'll put this next to BG&E2 on my list of Ubisoft games to look forward to... It's a small list.
