Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Demo Now Available At Switch 2 Kiosks (US)

KayFiOS

Really wish Nintendo would release these demos on the eShop. I know there's more incentive to introduce a game to people who don't already have a system so that they can consider buying one, maybe during that same shopping trip even, but us Metroid fans have been waiting 8 years for this. They can throw us a little bone...

Re: Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble DLC Is Getting Delisted A Year After Release

KayFiOS

These are skins. To my knowledge, they do not alter the gameplay in any meaningful way, and each one is sold for $5. If you were to get all of the DLC for the game, it would cost $60, but you get a $5 discount with the Sega character pack, so $55. That's still more expensive than the game currently is on the eShop, even if it weren't on sale right now. The only way I'd be interested in buying these limited time skins is if they were no more than $2 each. Really, $1 would make the most sense, maybe $2 for all the licensed characters.
So yeah, not getting these, because they're way too pointless for the price that Sega is asking for.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The New Kirby Air Riders amiibo?

KayFiOS

I wasn't going to get one, but during my playthrough of road trip, which I started as Meta Knight, I kept using the Shadow Star, which kind of made me want to get the amiibo of those two.
It's a good thing then that only Kirby and Waddle Dee are out, and by the time Meta Knight is released, I'll have changed my mind probably.

Re: PokéPark Kanto Includes A Major Area Those With Limited Mobility Can't Access

KayFiOS

@Gen4Fan Probably not for the majority of people, but if you are one of those people with limited mobility, you're still paying full price to go to the park despite not being able to access a significant portion of it. Just seems like BS to me, and It's not like they're going to change anything to make accommodations for people with disabilities, because they don't actually care. Nintendo will make a game about disabled people playing basketball, but when it comes to actually giving a damn about people with disabilities, they're nowhere to be found.

Re: Video: We've Played Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition On Switch 2 - Here's 18 Minutes Of Gameplay

KayFiOS

@KevinP At least for now, I've been enjoying the added performance boost for games that really needed it like Another Code: Recollection, but then you have games that aren't even out yet that were announced for modern consoles from Sony and Microsoft... and the Switch 1, like the most recently announced Tales of Berseria Remastered. The trailer showed 60 FPS gameplay, but I'm positive the switch version is going to be locked to 30, regardless of which Switch you're using...

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Kirby Air Riders

KayFiOS

@Wakkawipeout If accelerating was done with analog triggers, then at least you'd get the feeling of pressing on the gas and brake pedals, but holding a button to move forward is kind of pointless in a game where you are moving forward at all times. Might as well just make a game where you have to hold a button to keep your character awake...

Re: The Game Awards Nominees Announced, Donkey Kong Bananza Up For GOTY

KayFiOS

Neither Donkey Kong Bananza nor Mario Kart World deserve to be nominated for Game of the Year in my opinion. Whether it's removing post game content and locking it behind a paywall, or increasing the appearance rate of the intermission tracks that nearly everyone dislikes before undoing that change because of all the backlash that it justifiably received, Nintendo made too many stupid decisions surrounding the 2 largest debut games for the Switch 2. I am rooting for them to win absolutely zero awards at this ceremony. I am excited for next year, when Metroid Prime 4 and Kirby Air Riders can be part of the Game Awards discussion, but this year has been rough for Nintendo, IMO.

Re: Best Zelda Games Of All Time

KayFiOS

@SirLink Seriously, they should just condense the remasters into one slot with the original release. Am I really supposed to believe that the original GameCube version of Wind Waker is better than the one that gives us an easier Triforce Quest, a Swift Sail, first person strafing, and the ability to submit 12 photos at once in the Nintendo Gallery instead of just one per day? I think not.

Re: Nintendo Launches Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility Search Page

KayFiOS

@Spider-Kev Maybe that false advertising should be used as a grounds to have them removed from the eShop. Then again, it would probably be a Hydra situation, where you cut off one head and two more take its place because moderation and quality control are things that the Nintendo eShop laughs at...

Re: PSA: SNES Controller For Switch Online Is Finally Back In Stock (UK)

KayFiOS

@Pillowpants This is probably why Nintendo made the Switch 2 Pro Controller and GameCube controller exceedingly difficult to use on a PC. Thankfully, it seems like a driver is on its way, and should be released soon; I've been waiting to use my GameCube controller in Dolphin since I picked one up before I even got my Switch 2.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th November)

KayFiOS

I'm not allowing myself to play anything else until I finish Tears of the Completionist. Aside from boss rematches, I've cleared out the depths and most of the sky, I just got to get cracking on Hyrule itself. Just awakened my third sage, so I'll probably finish up the sky and hunt some Koroks before moving on to the next sage.
Side note, since I've been playing Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom over the past few months, I ended up picking up the Great Deku Tree Lego set, and I've been chipping away at that over the past couple of days. It's a massive set, and I have to work on it in the few hours that I have between coming home from work and going to sleep, but I'm enjoying the build. Last night I got to the point where the instructions ask you which tree you want to build, Ocarina of Time, or Breath of the Wild. Since the Era of the Wilds games have been living rent free in my head for a long time now, and because it leaves the fewest leftover bricks, I decided to go with the Breath of the Wild version. Too bad there isn't a third option for the Wind Waker, but considering how tall that one would be, it's probably for the best.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Zelda & Splatoon Villagers - All Compatible amiibo

KayFiOS

If it weren't for the fact that we got more Sanrio crossover characters than characters from both Zelda and Splatoon combined, I'd say I wasn't too bothered by the absence of Epona, Wolf Link, Medli, Ganon, Felyne, and Inkwell. If nothing else, there were other characters I would have liked to see added to Animal Crossing, like Kass as an eagle. It's also a little bit of a missed opportunity to not redesign Inkwell to look more like Big Man in the same way Cece and Viché were redesigned to look more like Shiver and Frye.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake?

KayFiOS

I still haven't played either of these games yet, but I am going to knock a point off of whatever score I end up giving either of them, because there should be an option to upgrade the Switch 1 version for Switch 2, if only for people who bought the game before buying the new hardware. This clearly wasn't an issue for them with DQ3 or Final Fantasy Tactics, so I don't understand why this collection can't have a similar patch available for Switch 2 owners.

Re: Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against 'Pirate' Streamer Who Taunted Company Online

KayFiOS

Does Nintendo deserve some pushback for their more recent decisions? Absolutely. Does that mean you go telling everyone to pirate their most current software? Not a chance! Vote with your wallets, but don't try to have your cake and eat it too by playing games from the company you're boycotting, especially if it involves a chargeable offense, and ffs, don't go parading around the fact that you're doing such illegal things! You may as well just wear a bright neon shirt that says "sue me!"

Re: Retro Nintendo Games Are Returning To Animal Crossing (Sort Of)

KayFiOS

No one else seems to be pointing this out, but you can actually tell what almost all of the systems can play. In the shot where the player boots up Ice climber on the NES, you can see the Famicom with Clu Clu Land, the Super Famicom with Panel de Pon, the Super NES with F-ZERO, and while you can't see the game inserted into the Game Boy because it's laying on its back, we do see Dr. Mario running on the Game Boy just seconds later. That just leaves the Famicom Disk System. Judging by the fact that all of the games I listed are great for short bursts of play, and by the list of games currently available on NSO, I'm guessing it will be VS. Excitebike.

Re: Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake Gets Day One Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

KayFiOS

On top of looking good next to DQIII, I bought the Switch 1 version because It's actually on the card, smooth frame rates be damned. I don't understand why Square-Enix can't just include an upgrade path, or update the switch 1 version to run at 60 FPS on a switch 2, like they did with DQIII, but at least after I'm done playing the first two games, the third game will feel like an upgrade.

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Playable Characters - Every Fighter Revealed So Far

KayFiOS

@Dang_69 Yeah, the cast in these Hyrule Warriors games has been getting progressively weaker. Not surprising when the first game started with a strong cast of fan favorites from across the entire series, and Age of Calamity was able to pull from Breath of the Wild's cast because of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, but that apparently isn't the case here. The best we can get is a construct that looks like Link, four sages who didn't even qualify as characters in Tears of the Kingdom, a few familiar faces we can actually give a damn about, and then some new faces that we can't.
