Considering I'm just now jumping into Hollow Knight for the first time, I'm just going to take people's word for it that this is an upgrade. Side note, I just fought Hornet. Can't say I appreciate her opening with "I know what you are," not exactly the most friendly way to start a conversation, but her fight is pretty fun... Even if she kicked my butt a few times, sending me back to a bench in an obnoxiously vertical room.
Maybe I'll go back to Splatoon 3 at some point, because I do miss Salmon Run most of all (never really cared for PVP outside of splatfests). I have at least one gold badge for Jammin' Salmon Junction, and what a grind that was, but I'm glad I was able to experience Hazard Level MAX, and I would do it again!
Finally took the plunge. Aside from an annoyingly hard boss that spawns you back at a bench at the bottom of a tall vertical area if you die, I'm having a lot of fun with this game so far! Even then, bench placement aside, it's been a while since a search action challenged me like this. I've never been more happy to get my thorax handed to me.
Me and my brothers played this together with a multiplayer mod on PC (not sure why multiplayer needed to be a mod in the first place in a series where co-op is typically its strongest selling point, but I digress). We agreed that it was the weakest Tales game we've played so far, and not because it wasn't designed for multiplayer, it feels just as designed for it as Zestiria, buggy camera and all. No, this game had an underwhelming story, non compelling world exploration, bland party members, and just my least favorite combat in the series. At the very least, I hope this release will add multiplayer because it makes no sense for that to be absent whatsoever.
@N00BiSH I'm guessing Koei Tecmo wanted to sell it on multiple systems, not just let people play it on one as part of a subscription service. Not sure how well third-party companies are getting compensated for putting their games in Nintendo Classics libraries.
Announcer: "Next is our last announcement."
Todd Howard: "Hey, everybody—"
Me: "@#$&!"
I'm glad that Fallout is finally getting a switch release that isn't a mobile game, though I really would prefer Fallout 3 and New Vegas to get a modern console release.
This was probably the most exciting announcement for me today. Only other thing that comes close is Console Archives, moreso for the potential that it holds then the games they announced; this could be how we get games that Nintendo won't put on Nintendo Classics, like Snowboard Kids or Mischief Makers. Aside from that, I'm super excited for the Super Bomberman collection!
I hope this rebranding does bring about some positive changes, even if I'm not in that fanbase myself. I still think Overwatch fans should be treated right by Acti-Blizz.
Wait a minute, have I been able to use the labo VR with games that supported it when playing on a switch 2 this whole time?
I guess it's too late to cancel that pre-order for the cardboard Virtual Boy huh?
Switch 2 has games? I seriously don't mean to sound like a grifting YouTuber that just takes every opportunity to dunk on Nintendo, but I am disappointed that outside of Mario Tennis Fever and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, we really don't have much info on upcoming Nintendo releases. We still don't even know what kind of game Splatoon Raiders is going to be, and I just had to go back and edit this comment because I completely forgot that we have a new Fire Emblem in the works. As I am currently typing this, I seriously don't remember a thing about this game's announcement. Heck, Nintendo could be pushing out more Nintendo Switch 2 Editions, but right now, the only one we know about that's coming up is Super Mario Bros. Wonder. So far, the lineup of first party releases from Nintendo for 2026 seems about on par with what it was in 2024, worse than that if we're not including games for the original Switch. 2024 brought us the remakes of Trace Memory/Another Code, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Paper Mario TTYD, new entries in series that had been dormant for quite some time, like Endless Ocean, Mario & Luigi, and Famicom Detective Club, and then we had a couple more experimental titles with Peach and Zelda as the protagonists in their own respective games... And also Nintendo World Championships NES and Super Mario Party Jamboree.
I say all this because 2024 was the last year before Nintendo would introduce the Switch 2. I consider this to be the last year of the Nintendo switch, or at least the last year where it had the spotlight to itself. Meanwhile, if you look at the Switch 2, the lineup of first party offerings in its first year isn't as strong as it was for the switch during its first year, or even in 2024, when people were clamoring for a new system!
In short, Nintendo really needs to step up their game and actually have a direct planned for next week and not a partner showcase!
Honestly, this sucks. I want to see more first party offerings than just Yoshi and Rhythm Heaven. We still don't even know what Splatoon Raiders is supposed to be in terms of genre, and even beyond that we need info on games that are coming out besides those three. My fingers are crossed for a proper direct, because the momentum for switch 2 has basically grinded to a halt.
Riiiiiight. Nintendo just made an oopsie, like they did with the Nintendo Classics: Nintendo 64 video that showed 5 blurred box art images of N64 games that hadn't been released on the service yet, two of which have since been added to the service. Whatever you say Nintendo.
This trailer made me somewhat interested in at least streaming the game for a bit, if only so I could get some ideas for islanders from chat and watch as the most ambitious crossover since Infinity War unfolds. And it's partially because I would love to just fiddle around with the Mii Creator over and over again. They only said that the game is compatible with switch 2 though, so we don't have confirmation that this game is getting mouse controls yet, which is disappointing since you can draw in this game, and that seems like the perfect opportunity to advertise mouse controls on the new system.
This is ridiculous. You just made people have to remove their SD card. Just means there are more steps to sharing clips/screenshots, so why bother implementing such restrictions at that point? May as well have removed the ability to capture screenshots outside of PhotoTomo.
@Fizza I'm positive, given Capcom's recent dedication to updating old collections, that PS4/Xbox owners won't be left out.
In my household, we respect Ginny!
@KingMike oop. Can you tell how well I know these Ren & Stimpy games? Point still stands though. Doesn't make sense for them to exclude the Genesis games.
@KingMike Maybe it's because it would require a separate emulator they decided to do SNES games only? I guess that wouldn't make sense considering Nickelodeon was okay with putting out the Cowabunga Collection... Which had more games now that I think about it... Yeah, what the heck was going on in their heads when they were making this?!
I'm guessing the two games that are missing were published by a different company than the rest back in the day? It's a shame they aren't part of this collection, but at least we know why none of these games were included with the Nickelodeon Splat Pack now.
This seems like a weird feature to not include on day one. At first, I thought this must be in response to the backlash when everyone saw that it was still just red in the last trailer we got, but seeing how they had the foresight to make the red lens removable on the $100 piece of plastic, I don't know now...
They're supposed to be sending out physical copies around this time, yeah? I ordered it with Shantae: Risky Revolution, and they're supposed to ship both games to me by the 31st... But Limited Run Games also has a dirty habit of delaying things at the eleventh hour, so we'll see I guess.
We didn't get Kirby Planet Robobot Deluxe like Nate said, but we did get Kirby Air Riders, so I'm happy he was wrong... Although, it would be nice to see Planet Robobot get a re-release anyway.
I'm going to show my ignorance when it comes to Ubisoft products when I say this, but what the heck do you mean they have a Just Dance subscription service?! Is it not enough that they release those games on an annual basis?!
I'm kind of wishing this included Mega Party Game$ as well, but maybe Nintendo will add that soundtrack if it comes to Nintendo Classics (god PLEASE let that come to Nintendo Classics!).
I actually dig the art style here! I'll be keeping an eye on this one for sure! Leave it to Indies to pick up the slack for Nintendo to bring us something that reminds us of the franchises that Nintendo is constantly ignoring.
Unless Pikmin 2 has none of its textures changed to remove Duracell, Kiwi, 7-Up, etc., I don't see a point in re-releasing a game that's already on the system. Remember that Nintendo aren't against changing information on the iso for Nintendo Classics, since the Pikmin trailer was removed from Luigi's Mansion.
Still excited to replay Metroid Prime 2 though, even if it's not a remaster like the first one got. It does make me wonder if we're going to get a Metroid Prime 3 Remastered, seeing how we don't have Wii games on Nintendo Classics, and I don't think Nintendo's willing to add that to a subscription tier that's already starting to earn its price tag.
The 3DS game wasn't my cup of tea unless I was watching someone else play it, like Vinesauce Vinny. I really hope a proper Nintendo Direct announcement isn't too far off, because I'm more interested in games like Splatoon Raiders and possibly Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and I'm very curious to see what else Nintendo has planned for this year, especially because the Switch 2 doesn't seem to have the strong momentum that it's predecessor had during its first year.
I am not about to buy a Ubisoft product so willingly. I'll wait for a review, and if it runs well, and is on a proper physical release, then it's a maybe.
Maybe. It would be a good excuse to revisit the game with my brothers, who I played the entire game with locally. My thoughts on the camera during the final level aside, we did have a good time overall.
How hard would it be for them to just have the classic classic cover art on the reversible side? They could be doing this with all NS2Es that come with an expansion, but nah, let's just make them ugly to look at instead.
@Nintendo_Thumb I never said your opinion was invalid. You're allowed to feel that way, but just like how you're allowed to have an opinion, I'm allowed to have an opinion of that opinion. And if you don't like getting pushback for having an unpopular opinion, stay off the internet. This is common sense, bucko.
I also didn't make you talk about how bad you think this game is. I didn't hold a gun up to your head and say "Compare a game that people enjoy to rushed licensed garbage from a quarter century ago that everyone universally hates! Do it NOW!" Who's making up stories here? You chose to do that. I wasn't even talking to you at first, I was replying to someone else who said the game is terrible. You didn't have to insert yourself into our convo, but you did it anyway. Stop trying to blame others for what you did. It's very embarrassing.
Anyway, I grow tired of reading your immature prattle. You can't accept that not liking a game doesn't automatically mean it's a bad game, just a game you don't like. There's nothing wrong with disliking a game, but when you act like it's objectively bad, going so far as to compare it to Superman 64, then you are just being disrespectful. It devalues the emotions of the fans who genuinely were happy to see this series return and love this game for what it is, and it's disrespectful as all hell to the team who clearly put passion into creating it, unlike the people who were just trying to make a paycheck under stressful conditions because Warner Bros. gave them a strict deadline. I have nothing more to say to you, except that I will not see whatever you have to respond with, as I am ignoring you. Good day sir!
While I'm definitely glad to have mine this early on into its life cycle, if only because it basically acts like a Switch Pro, playing most games for the original Switch better than its predecessor could, I do think that Nintendo needs to step up their first party offerings for the new system this year, especially if they have any intentions of keeping this momentum going.
It took a while, but Bubsy may actually finally have a good game. I was not expecting to see this kind of character growth from Mr. Bobcat of all people!
I'm really happy to see Captain Toad finally get his own amiibo! It would be nice if Captain Toad Treasure Tracker got a Switch 2 update/edition that adds more levels, maybe based on Super Mario Bros. Wonder, with talking flowers placed throughout each level... And also brings back the 3D World levels!
@Nintendo_Thumb I'm sorry. I was a teenager when this game came out, and my little brothers hadn't even reached double digits by then. Nothing about your behavior indicated to me that you are older than me or my brothers. Of course you're allowed to say a game is bad, but other people are also allowed to correct you. And if your age and source of income are the only discrepancies you could correct me on, then it seems like I was pretty much right on the money about everything else! You spent money on this game twice and got burned both times because you didn't like it the first time and then you chose to buy it again, and now you're bitter about it. Fool me once, yada yada yada.
By the way, the Metroid series has a history of not selling nearly as well as Mario or Zelda, especially in Japan. Is Super Metroid bad by that metric? Absolutely not.
Let's turn the tables though. Look at the Pokémon series. That series always sells incredibly well. It is the most lucrative IP in existence, but does that mean that every game is good? Obviously, that's going to be subjective because some people are okay with spending over $90 to get everything in a single game, but it is this user's opinion that the game is bad by virtue of engaging in horribly predatory anti-consumer practices.
Using sales to determine whether a game is good or not is just shallow. Air Riders is not bad, you're just bad at it, just like you're bad at justifying your opinion, or your childishly disrespectful mindset. Move on.
There it is. I knew these guys wouldn't resist. They wanted the Beyond Good & Evil fans to make free assets for them for BG&E2, and rightfully got backlash for suggesting such a thing! They've been trying to weasel their way out of paying artists to help make their games for a long time now, and now they have a means to do so. It's also not surprising at all to see them jump on a bandwagon, not after they tried doing it with NFTs. Tell me Ubisoft... How's the return on investment for that Captain Laserhawk game?
@Dev-N I don't even hate Mario Kart World, I'm just disappointed by it. But they are improving the game by fixing the intermissions, and I'm excited to revisit the game later down the line when they're done patching it. I didn't like Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U at first, but now it's my favorite Mario Kart game... The deluxe version, not the original Wii U version. That one still has a laughably bad battle mode.
@Nintendo_Thumb I think you told me enough about your personal experiences there. Your parents probably bought it for you back in the day on the GameCube, or you spent your own allowance, doesn't matter. You didn't like it. Years pass, new game comes out for $70, you buy it (without waiting for a sale, and mind you, I just found the game on sale for $50), thinking this time will be different. You still don't like it, but now it's personal because you bought the game with your own money (possibly for a second time), and now you're just irate at the game for still not being to your liking, so you'll just tell everyone the game is bad, not that you didn't like it. I shed a tear for you.
Anyway, I bought Street Fighter a few times, and never got any better at it. I don't say that the game is bad, I just acknowledge that it's not for me, because I don't want to invest time into getting good. I still respect the fans who do enjoy the game, and I still enjoy watching people play it! It's not too hard to be respectful to the people who enjoy something you don't. It's called letting people enjoy things.
@Strawblaze That's actually very fair to say. Nintendo does have a tendency to learn from their own mistakes, and not follow what everyone else is doing, sometimes to their detriment, other times to their benefit (they only dabbled in VR, and look where that trend is headed). In this case, they're probably paying attention to what people are saying about ACNH - NS2E, and hopefully they'll learn to not tie game behavior to frame rates in the future, but that does unfortunately mean that this is going to underwhelm players who were hoping for 60 FPS on Switch 2. If they can avoid doing it this generation, then maybe for the Switch 3, they'll make upgrade packs for games to run at 120 FPS. By the time that happens, 60 FPS will be unplayable to people, and 120 FPS will be the new bar to clear.

Re: All Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 Games With Analogue Trigger Compatibility (That Work With The GameCube NSO Controller)
Sadly, Cyberpunk 2077 isn't on this list.
Re: Switch 2 Remains The Fastest-Selling Console In The US At 4.4 Million Units
While I'm definitely glad to have mine this early on into its life cycle, if only because it basically acts like a Switch Pro, playing most games for the original Switch better than its predecessor could, I do think that Nintendo needs to step up their first party offerings for the new system this year, especially if they have any intentions of keeping this momentum going.
Re: Bubsy 4D Launches In May, Physical Release Confirmed For Switch & Switch 2
It took a while, but Bubsy may actually finally have a good game. I was not expecting to see this kind of character growth from Mr. Bobcat of all people!
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Is Getting A Trio Of New amiibo

Re: Kirby Air Riders Is Getting Its First Update Of 2026 "Soon"
Move on.
Re: Ubisoft Cancels 6 Games In Major Organisation Restructure
There it is. I knew these guys wouldn't resist. They wanted the Beyond Good & Evil fans to make free assets for them for BG&E2, and rightfully got backlash for suggesting such a thing! They've been trying to weasel their way out of paying artists to help make their games for a long time now, and now they have a means to do so.
It's also not surprising at all to see them jump on a bandwagon, not after they tried doing it with NFTs. Tell me Ubisoft... How's the return on investment for that Captain Laserhawk game?
Re: Kirby Air Riders Is Getting Its First Update Of 2026 "Soon"
@Dev-N I don't even hate Mario Kart World, I'm just disappointed by it. But they are improving the game by fixing the intermissions, and I'm excited to revisit the game later down the line when they're done patching it. I didn't like Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U at first, but now it's my favorite Mario Kart game... The deluxe version, not the original Wii U version. That one still has a laughably bad battle mode.
Re: Kirby Air Riders Is Getting Its First Update Of 2026 "Soon"
Re: Video: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch 2 & Switch)
