Following the Kingdom Hearts 25th anniversary celebrations at Disney's D23 fan event last week, a very sad announcement has been made. Hayden Panettiere, who voiced Kairi in the first two Kingdom Hearts games, has died at the age of 36.
As reported by the BBC, The Greenville County Coroner's Office said crews treated a woman in "cardiac arrest" on Sunday, but her autopsy showed "no signs of trauma". Her father announced the tragic news, with the family asking for privacy during this difficult period:

This is horrible news. She was a gifted actress and seemed like a lovely human being offscreen as well. Rest in power, Hayden. You were a shining star in an endless star ocean.
Condolences to the family and friends of Hayden. I hope they are able to make it through this hard and difficult time.
Was really awful hearing about this, especially given her family also just lost her brother three years ago. Must be especially rough for them right now.
For what it's worth Alyson Stoner (the current voice of Kairi) put out a really emotional video with their thoughts on her passing, tough watch but can tell it's really tearing them up.
I remember she had a breakout role in "Remember the Titans" as just a little kid...a shame what Hollyweird does to so many actresses...
Damn, definitely gone way too soon...Hoping her family and daughter can at least find some peace, love and comfort in these difficult, senseless times.
God… obviously, a death is tragic no matter the age, but losing someone at that young of an age is especially heartbreaking. RIP
That's way too young man...
I saw this earlier today and was heartbroken. Way too young to go. Such a talented actress portraying so many fun roles. Many prayers for her family and friends.
Gone way too soon! She was a lovely person on screen and off screen. Sending love to her family and friends ❤️
I'm sorry, Kairi. I told you I'd always protect you...
At least we have this time capsule.
