Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying

I still contend that the Wii U Gamepad was the best controller ever released. It was incredibly comfortable (for me) and I liked the placement of the analog sticks.

Also, I really wish Nintendo would release a dedicated home console again. I don't care if it's portable or not.

I do recognize I'm in the minority with these opinions.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo And The Industry Needs To Get Serious About Game Preservation

I seem to remember the push for everything to go digital the past decade or more and physical media being blasted as no longer viable, wanted, or needed by a large segment of gamers. Well, here we are, realizing exactly how monotone that narrative has been. Games as a service is going to ruin gaming when viewed with even a little foresight. When developers start releasing complete games again, we will start to see the light at the end of this “rental” tunnel we are in with digital distribution.

Re: UK Charts: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Launch Sales Are 190% More Than The Wii U Version

What this tells me is...it's too bad all of those people whined and cried about the Wii U and it's name, and blah blah blah. It was a really good system with some incredible games. People just bailed on it for some crazy reason and are only now realizing what some of us have known for years. The Wii U Gamepad was extremely comfortable to use, and I had an absolute blast playing it from when I bought it on release day until even today when I was playing some Virtual Console games.

Wii U warriors...unite!

Re: Soapbox: Grinding Is Poor Gameplay Design That Doesn’t Respect Your Time

I've never been into grinding for experience or for turn based RPGs. I understand the strategy component but I dislike giving a command and not actually having control over the outcome. In Mario games, pushing the jump button always results in what I intended. Any errors are my own fault and not that of what the computer code decides.

This makes me want a Switch Home Pro console that doesn’t have joy-cons or a tablet. I’d love for Nintendo to make a home-only console again that allows me to plug in my Switch cartridges and play with a pro controller. They already took away the “switching” option with the Switch Lite so why not make a traditional console again? I realize I’m in a vast majority, but I never take mine out of the dock anyway.

Re: Bloodstained's Latest Update Is Finally Available On Switch - Adds A New Mode And Character

I have been playing the physical copy of this game on Switch since launch. The controls initially had some very noticeable lag, but once you are able to speed your character up, the lag disappears. It did crash on me a few times, but I have not had a single hiccup in 40-50 hours of play since then. I guess I'm not noticing all of the major flaws everyone keeps shouting about, but I have been having an absolute blast with this game for almost a year. Too bad for those who refused to give it a shot!

It's crazy to think that I have two copies of the Mike Tyson's Punchout!! 5-screw version sitting on a shelf: one I got for my birthday and one my friend gave me when he didn't want all of his video game stuff anymore when we got to high school because it "wasn't cool" to play video games anymore at that age.
