Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate Nintendo's 2021?

The video game industry as a whole was down big time this year (as far as my interests are concerned). With that said, Metroid Dread was absolutely fantastic and by far the most memorable gaming experience of the year for me.

I’ve been stuck trying to beat Raven Beak for seven days and I’m simply going to give up. This boss is impossible for me to beat and has completely ruined my enjoyment of the game. After four hours worth of attempts today alone, I’m done. The higher tier valkyries in God of War were the same and made me quit that game too.

I feel like Other M is only "bad" because of the echo chamber effect of the internet. If we weren't all reading each others comments, I would guess that a significantly larger number of people would have enjoyed it more not knowing a few loudly negative options about it existed.

In all honestly, I played it before I ever read comments about anything and found it largely enjoyable at the time. It is, however, definitely not the Halloween III: Season of the Witch that many try to make it out to be.

I still contend that the Wii U Gamepad was the best controller ever released. It was incredibly comfortable (for me) and I liked the placement of the analog sticks.

Also, I really wish Nintendo would release a dedicated home console again. I don't care if it's portable or not.

I do recognize I'm in the minority with these opinions.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo And The Industry Needs To Get Serious About Game Preservation

I seem to remember the push for everything to go digital the past decade or more and physical media being blasted as no longer viable, wanted, or needed by a large segment of gamers. Well, here we are, realizing exactly how monotone that narrative has been. Games as a service is going to ruin gaming when viewed with even a little foresight. When developers start releasing complete games again, we will start to see the light at the end of this “rental” tunnel we are in with digital distribution.
