@Xaessya Visually at least, XX doesn't even standout after playing Monster Hunter 3U (the pic is from the Wii U version naturally).
Look how much more detailed the Rathalos model looks, and how much deeper the environment is. It really sucks they couldn't use the better models fro 3U on 3DS, look at those talons. Graphics aren't everything of course, but this is a game about watching monsters move and aiming strikes at their bodies. And I really liked Tri's assets and 3D models.
How could these be content removed before launch if their names were only added in one of the patches? Why does this published article contain such contradictory speculation?
Also, RNA is a pretty good joke on the developers' part.
There was no last time, it was some moron's misinterpretation on NeoGAF. Do your research before you throw your half hour of typing up so you're not blatantly lying and misinforming your readership.
@SDF This game is announced with nothing shown and not even a release window. Persona games tend to come out late in the generation, so by the time this game's out there will be a lot more active Switch users and a lot less ones on 3DS. Especially people who are avid enough to play PS4 games as well.
@NinjaWaddleDee Remember when Persona 5 was only on PS3 but Atlas started developing a current gen version because the release was taking so long? Just wait.
@Grudgebearer For starters, you're lying. Capcom didn't say no, it was a mistranslated interview that then got spread around by terrible reporting that they had to correct. Monster Hunter XX is on Switch in one territory, Dauntless isn't anywhere. Capcom is objectively supporting the platform with more action games. Maybe you should try to be wiser than your username.
@Grudgebearer Dauntless isn't announced for the platform either. Monster Hunter XX is nearly released in Japanese, meaning work has been put into its development. Your comments are illogical.
I'm most interested in World or another fifth gen Monster Hunter with new monsters coming to Switch. And World seems pretty doable on the platform, especially since it's still using MT Framework, the engine Capcom ported to Switch in a couple of months.
Really scraping the bottom of the barrel for other ways to play this limited game. Or one could just go play the Master Mode that no one played because it was offensively unbalanced from the start.
No, it launched two months in, right before the start of the fiscal year. Nonetheless, selling nearly 5 million Switches in 4 months is very good and puts them on pace to meet their 10 million goal, especially with the fall sales season yet to come
@RainbowGazelle Well I mean that doesn't make much sense. The Switch launch line year in terms of first parties was probably decided in 2014 or 2015, and Iwata would have had a large hand in that. Video game development is like trying to hit a target you can't see yet, and it's certainly not decided by just one person.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Why would you make a fuss about the release of a previously unavailable game? This is one of the biggest landmarks in game preservation in its history.
Nintendo funded an exhibit about the history of indie games at the Museum of Popular Culture in Seattle. They had a bunch of weird Wii U indies playable, as well as a really near history scroll chronicling indie games from the 80s to Journey and on.
@Lord You're so dramatic. Gonna look real silly when — surprise — a series made by multiple teams that sells well on portable comes to the only current gen handheld in a year or so.
Why don't people see open world games about freedom and metroidvania games about locked doors as polar opposites, lol? I'd love to have more set piece moments, but it's hard to see how flying into the atmosphere will have any practical application in a game partly about platforming.
Have Intelligent Systems make a new IP (not Fire Emblem for the love of god) that's essentially just a new Paper Mario game with a new battle style and completely original cast.
Ah yes, because the Wii U infographic worked out so well... Anyway it's interesting, I didn't know Lego Worlds was releasing, or that June was 'Spring.'
This E3 was basically just a great Mario trailer and a bunch of insubstantial announcements. A Yoshi and Kirby game without titles, yes, yes, I heard that song and dance with the Wii U. A direct sequel / successor to Prime 3 is great news for Metroid, but that trailer wasn't even a 'reveal' it was just a promise.
The Pokemon announcement wasn't even that, as everyone with half an ounce of hindsight knew Pokemon would be coming to Switch eventually.
@Sakhasm Several Ubisoft games and a neat port from Bethesda, but losing Monster Hunter is a huge blow for Nintendo. The modern series will probably make its way back onto Switch in a year or two, but it sucks that the Switch doesn't get Monster Hunter: World.
@JaxonH @Hordak @StephenYap3 Skyrim is obviously not competing with Breath of the Wild in terms of polish, combat, or physics + chemistry. Its combat system is designed around a first-person perspective to the benefit of immersion, and that's the canon way to play it IMO. Its got climbing though: It's called a jump button and a will, haha.
It's a very atmospheric game with tons of dungeons and natural locations to discover. There is a lot more to the world than Breath in that many of the dungeons tell a story of some sort and there are tons of books in the world to read and a deep lore underpinning the series and a lot of character dialogue. Generally you'll find a lot more quests, unique items/locations, and NPCs out in the world. I think it occupies its own space of immersive, environmental storytelling-focused open world game that nothing this gen has really committed to (besides Life is Strange, weirdly enough).

This game isn't doing anything the Switch can't handle if the devs are talented enough.

It wasn't even worth starting Breath of the Meh for this.

Re: Talking Point: Capcom, the Nintendo Switch and Gaming Business Realities
Information missing from this article:
1) It's still the Switch's launch year.
2) Monster Hunter: World, despite the title, is not open world. Just look at its map.
3) The Japanese XX singleplayer demo comes out on the 10th and the Switch is region free.

The self-serious entitlement in these comments is laughable.

XX and Monster Hunter Portable 2018 are likely releasing to Switch (as well as subsequent entries), but World looks like the Monster Hunter I want.

But seriously a real move from Sony. They don't need and shouldn't want to have all the games on their platform.
