It feels good to know that your money is going into an actual product, not a company's profit margins.

The interface is like a strictly better version of PS4's — screenshots and the store navigation especially — they just need to add more stuff to it and build it out.

Factory farming is the substantive issue here. Animals being born, living, and dying in their own waste in pens where they can't move or lie down for the sake of cramming in more creatures beside them.

I like the irony. Plus, naming a leak-plugging program after a popular franchise would be pretty counter-intuitive.

It's just kind of a bright-colored mess at melee range and the animations and effects are all so fast that I can't tell what I'm doing, how the other kid killed me, or what I could have done better.

And as a twofold 3DS owner, I'm not happy about that being called out for E3. Hopefully it's just for show floor demos and not much space in their presentation, as development for 3DS directly damages their pitch for the Switch being a hybrid console and host to all of Nintendo's current games.

@CharlieSmile Exactly. Conservatives like to pretend that only their free speech is protected. However, if the law is fair, they should be allowed to hold their Nazi parades, and everyone opposed in town should be able to shout at them from the sidewalk. It always goes both ways, unless the enforcement is punching downwards (against minorities, non-cis male genders, etc).

And on boycotts or individual choice not to purchase the game, that's not free speech, that's just free-dom. People who are angry at those (honestly pretty subtle) forces and the eagerness of certain corporations to appeal to everyone regardless of identity are really just angry at mass market economics and an economy that gives everyone free will. Not that I'm much of a libertarian myself.

Well it's not like third parties haven't been enforcing a console duopoly since the end of the Wii's lifecycle. Too many media outlets mistakenly put the onus on Nintendo to obtain third party support when this is all happening in a free market system, for better and worse. Simply, if no extra developers choose to make games for the Switch, then none will.

I'm fine with just Nintendo and Capcom games for now.

That doesn't look like a 2017 game, and those animations don't look like any kind of modern game.

You can download it on the US Switch shop as far as I understand. I clicked on the eShop link from the lock screen and Splatoon 2 was in the recent games on the first page. It errored out once, but I repeated the process and downloaded it just fine.

This was exactly how people played Skyrim, sharing stories and such.

No other AAA devs make splitscreen games anymore, let alone ones of a comparable quality.

I mean, it was great in Twilight Princess — just do that again. It translates fine to HD, not to mention how useful having a built-in windsock in Breath of the Wild would have been.

Are they talking about the uninstall reroll trick? You'd think they'd just make an app that prevents that exploit rather than complain at gamers for breaking their system ever so slightly.

@Nik-Davies The backwards wrist strap is certainly scary, but fixable without any damage to the controllers. I think that at least is just part of learning a new system.

A little bit PR-y responses, but I'd be happy to try out the HD rumble with this interesting smaller game. It seems like they've checked all the boxes, even if Neo looked a little clinical in terms of the environment design.

How the heck did Overwatch win 'action game?' They should really have a shooter category, because Monster Hunter Cross is the clear 2016 action game winner.

That's pretty good. Especially after the Xbox One's sleep mode failed (already lax) energy efficiency standards, game systems need to run efficiently.

That shared wallet is promising and more than I was expecting. It bodes well for virtual console transferability.

I love pretty pixel art games and this one could be interesting. I just hope the levels look more naturalistic in the release version and that Towerfall itself comes to Switch. That sounds like a perfect kind of local co-op game for the system.

I just hope it gets rid of the weird extra yellow sunrises and sunsets. Besides those, both versions of the game look great.

I would be really excited for this if it had a game like Metroid Prime behind it. I don't mind a bit of pixilation if the actual game is excellent.

The Switch heating up in such close proximity to your face might be a problem, though. It could fog up glasses and even injure people if it's not done just right.

@ottospooky Lol, when has a Nintendo system not lasted through a nuclear winter? Cartridges' inherent flaws aside? I started with the Gamecube — a Gamecube I still have that works flawlessly. The only Nintendo systems that have ever broken on my are my DS and DS Lite hinges, when I dropped them.

I'd be glad to buy World of Goo or Little Inferno again for my fancy new tablet — and maybe even Human Resource Machine — after I play Zelda ;P

That's a terribly dishonest headline. Your attributing a quote paraphrased by someone else to 'Nintendo' vaguely as opposed to any human being who actually said it.

That's the problem with indie games on Switch — they are forced to be digital for financial reasons. The download speeds better be decent and there better be larger storage chips than 100-some gigs.

I would be simultaneously very disappointed and very intrigued if Retro was working on a horror game (that wasn't Metroid Prime).

Don't get too self-righteous, Wind Waker fans — Breath of the Wild is already The Wind Waker 2. And I'm not talking about the timeline.
