@fenlix i know this comment is a month old. But I really wanted to share this.
I've been pretty much been buying every new Shantae game in the hope that it will reach Pirate Curse quality. But so far they really are simply "nice games" and nothing more, sometimes even almost mediocre imho (Seven Pirate wasn't anything special to be honest).
Luckily the charm of the world and characters still keeps me coming back, but it's always a bummer to never see that level of quality again.
@RoboCube nah. The Switch 1 version was flawless (I played both the PC and Switch version). It was a bit graphical downgraded but it was completely remade from scratch, wich was the reason why it took a long time to release it on the Switch.
Still buying it here since I have the original and I get a discount. It is sad tough. Wait to actually play it to say anything but, it doesn't really feel like it's a game that should struggle with 60FPS.
@MyMemory gosh they could have put so many cool Sonic characters. But instead they went the route of commercially famous characters for money and attentions.
@SpaceboyScreams yeah I think so too. Many people get stuck without ever trying to change playstyle and obviously get stuck banging the wall with their head until somehow they win, thinking that the game is "unfair" so they don't take in consideration that maybe it's their approach to the Boss that it's wrong.
Silksong is definitely not that kind of game. It has so many different ways to approach Bosses that's it's insane. You can basically have any playstyle in existence.
@theberrage While I understand your frustration, I think the problem is at the base of your thinking
"The reward" is the enjoiyment you get out of perfecting the game mechanics, learning the Boss and having an awesome fight that it's perfectly balanced to keep you on your toes constantly but at the same time being perfectly doable if you put the effort to learn the pattern.
People complaining about the pricing of current Nintendo, but they forget stuff like a tech demo sold for 40€ over 20 years ago.
With that said, I still enjoyed it as a kid. The novelty of the touch and double screen at the time made me play this far more than I should have and I got hooked into doing better high scores in the minigames.
25 hours in and if it keeps going like this is simply the best Metroidvania ever made.
Definitely not for you if you don't want to put A LOT of effort into learning how to play it properly, but man I really can't find anything to complain about as someone who enjoys hardcore difficulties.
@RadioHedgeFund my 100% wrong headcanon is that this take place even before Skyward Sword.
And that TotK Ganondorf would have become Demise after going full demonic power with the other stones power.
This didn't happen tough because Zelda travelling into the past changed history and stopped him by helping Raul and Sonia.
This would be a cool way to explain the lack of triforce, reincarnation cycle and spirit of the Hero.
@mariomaster96 yeah I wanted it but I just spent 20€ for a new entire game. Not spending it for 3 hours of content (the new world even look absolutely smaller than the average Bananza level)
Man, Park Patrol was such a nice small game. A HD remaster remade with Chibi-Robo GameCube graphics would be really nice, but it's definitely never happening.
@MyMemory yeah I'm only just a newbie to this series, but from 7 onward I really feel like they try too hard. I don't know how to explain the feeling.
They take themself too seriously when both RE1 and 4 (the ones I played for now) always are a bit surreal and even goofy at times.
I don't want to play as a teenage girl who scream for help and start crying while having a mental breakdown in a Resident Evil (talking about the latest trailer for RE9).
@WhiteUmbrella well I would be completely fine just playing the OG RE2/3 honestly. They just came out on PSN, so I'm expecting to have them released on the eshop at some point in the future; I'm not playing the remake as my first experience with them anyway so... Either that or nothing.
While I'll probably buy this day one, and love it like I did when it came out both on PC and Switch, I can't stress enough how bad of an idea this entire project is.
I've already talked about it enough in other news, but the mood surrouding this remake is really a bad sign for it's sales.
I hope everything goes well for Playtonic Games as I want them to be successfull so we can finally have a brand new Yooka-Laylee, because I feel like this will flop badly.
@Suketoudara gosh the last sentence is so true for both DK and Wonder.
I felt like the developers treated me like a toddler with bad attention span for the entirely of both games.
Just a lot of sounds, effects and colors but without real substance.
And the worst part is how most of the people online seems to have fallen for that; the developers were like:"Here get your dopamine rush every 10 seconds please don't drop our game"
@Gabe250 Nintendo is completely random on this. They still have to give us DK64, wich is one of the most iconic N64 games, but they already put Chibi Robo on GameCube, wich is one of the most niche Nintendo games.
@anoyonmus yeah I started playing this series for the first time this month and I instantly bought every RE game on the eshop except for RE2/3 after I realize how much I was loving the first game. I really want 2 and 3. Or a new remake more in the style of RE1 Remake. Not too much interested in the new remakes that change pretty much the entire game from the ground up.
@PtM yeah the whole genocide thing the Metroid fanbase keep bringing up for making up how the Metroid II Story is more deep and meaningfull than people realize is actually funny. The entire Metroid II is always gassed up as something far more than what is it to be honest.
You are a baddass girl Warrior in a suit who is out to kill bad evil alien creatures and that's it.
The DLC for Kirby seems a bit boring and too much recicling from the original game, so I don't really know about that.
The only 100% purchase for me is Shantae. I'm still buying every single entry hoping that it will be as good as Pirate Curse, but for now they never achieved that level of quality again.
Genuinely happy for everyone that has been enjoying this game so much.
I'm just really confused because I just can't seem to get what so amazing about Roaming around mindlessly destroying everything until you have 300 banana and 400 fossils...
I feel like there's almost no level design in this game whatsoever. Hoping it will get more interesting later. For now it's not bad but it simply enjoyable.
I'm just randomly smashing trough stuff for the last 3 hours. Basically doing the same thing over and over. Just smashing stuff around until you find a banana or a fossil.
I just don't get where is the fun here. I really feel like I'm missing something because I have no idea how such a ripetitive and uninspired (from a Gameplay perspective) game could get such amazing scores.
@ottoecamn can you elaborate more on that? I'm really curious as I've always been a huge fan of Guilty Gear (even tough I play it really casually and not as an hardcore gamer AT ALL).
Because judging simply from an outsider perspective, it doesn't really seems that much different at all.

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Celebrates 1st Anniversary With DLC Announcement
I can't wait to play this, but I would also love for them to Just rerelease all the Budokai DB. I would love to replay them just for nostalgia sake.
Re: Review: Disgaea 7 Complete (Switch 2) - A Definitive Return For This Tactical RPG Giant
So I can without worry buy the original at half the price, since I stopped caring about the post game of this series after Disgaea 3?
Re: Yooka-Replaylee Physical Confirmed For December, Includes Extra Goodies
I'll probably pick it digital, as it will only costs 30€ since I have the original.
Tough it would be nice to have it physical, I already bought it two times in DD on PC and Switch.
Re: Review: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (Switch) - Cracking Karting, But Struggles To Keep Up On Switch
Looked it up on the eshop.
It already has 25€ of DLC or something available.
I'm not buying this.
Re: Review: Fire Emblem Shadows (Mobile) - Flat F2P Folly With Simplistic Strategy & Social Deduction
Such a shame. FE Heroes became unplayable at this point and I was hoping for a fresh starts for a new FE mobile.
Also, that kind of presentation in 2025 is unacceptable for a mobile game. At least make the characters portrait move and have a talk animation.
There's nothing appealing about this and it has nothing to do with being a mobile game in itself.
Re: Review: Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Switch) - Still Out Of This World
I would love to instantly replay Galaxy 2, didn't do that since day one on the Wii.
But God I'm so tired of accepting Nintendo absurd pricing.
I'll skip it until a sale happens.
Re: Dynasty Warriors: Origins Will Run At A "Fixed" 30fps On Switch 2
So glad I'm not one of the people obsessed with FPS and I just play wathever I find interesting without being bothered by these technical stuff.

@MyMemory gosh they could have put so many cool Sonic characters. But instead they went the route of commercially famous characters for money and attentions.
That totally killed the vibe of the game for me.
Re: Surprise! A New "Free-To-Start" Fire Emblem Game Is Out On Mobile Devices Today
@KayFiOS still waiting for that Zelda mobile game they announced like 7 years ago and pretended they never did.
Re: Surprise! A New "Free-To-Start" Fire Emblem Game Is Out On Mobile Devices Today
Gosh I tried it for a bit, but this seems straight up out from 2010 mobile game.
It looks so cheap.
I was hoping for a more modern FE mobile, since Heroes really became unplayable.

Re: Why Remake 'Dragon Quest VII' Before The Zenithian Trilogy? Yuji Horii Comments
@catchdamouse I'm so scared about knowing more of the gameplay, after they said they were taking into consideration making it an action JRPG...
Please Square don't make DQ go the FF route, it's fine as it is.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Checking Out Switch Online's Virtual Boy Service?
Really want to play that Wario Land. But unless you can do it without buying additional devices, it's a no for me.
Re: Why Remake 'Dragon Quest VII' Before The Zenithian Trilogy? Yuji Horii Comments
@Telcontyr people are not capable of comprehending that once you accept censorship it never ends, that's all.
Everyone it's fine with censorship until it take something they like, and then complain.
Re: Why Remake 'Dragon Quest VII' Before The Zenithian Trilogy? Yuji Horii Comments
Please do it in glorious HD and not 2D HD. I would buy them either way, but that would be so much better to me.
Re: The First Review For Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & The White Guardian Is In
@Andee yeah. I keep thinking about getting into the series, but every time I feel like doing it, 2 more games are out already.
I have bought 12 and played 4 or something.

Please I want the originals RE2-3...
Re: Opinion: No One Told Me 'Chibi-Robo' Is Traumatising
Always loved Chibi-Robo. Glad that more people are discovering this gem now that is more easily accessible to everyone.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Chibi-Robo!: Park Patrol
Man, Park Patrol was such a nice small game. A HD remaster remade with Chibi-Robo GameCube graphics would be really nice, but it's definitely never happening.

Well it's almost surely coming on NSO so...
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Dig Button Placement Is All Thanks To Miyamoto
Tried to play it for an hour but just could't do it, swpped the jump button.
And looking from this comment section, Miyamoto was wrong and almost everyone found it not intuitive at all.

@Kingy yeah that reads more like a 4/5 lol
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Drag x Drive
@boxyguy a game literally lives or die by it's vibes.
There's no classic game still considered a masterpiece that doesn't already hit off the moment you see a couple of screenshots, characters, or style.
It doesn't even matter if everything else is perfect if you can't get the vibes right.
Re: Review: Drag x Drive (Switch 2) - A Real Baller With Friends, But Is There Enough To Do?
Make this free for NSO+ subscribers and maybe it have a chance of not disappearing in a month.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?
I have no idea what Nintendo was thinking with this.
It seems like it wanted to be the Splatoon/Arms of the Switch 2 but everything about it looks so generic and boring to an almost comical degree.
I would expect this to be some kind of extremely low budget indie project you see on Steam for 5€ when full price.

Re: Feature: "Never In My Wildest Dreams Would I Have Expected This" - Falcom President Talks 20 Years Of 'Trails' In Our Big Interview
@xenobladexfan yeah I'm holding off on buying anything related to the series until they port Cold Steel 2 on Switch.
I already played the first one but never the second.
Re: Trails Beyond The Horizon Lifts Off With New Switch 1 & 2 Release Date
I want to catch up on this series. But waiting until we get the Sky games and Cold Steel 2

Been playing for a good 3 hours. And for now I'm not really feeling it.
I feel like I'm a mindless robot who just go around using the sonar and go towards anything that shines.
It kind of boring honestly.
