Re: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition Is Getting A Physical Switch Release

They managed to ruin a collection of 5 rom of 25 years old game. Big gaming company are always the best.

Also the Soundtrack was the main reason to replay this game on the PS1 version, they're crazy if they changed it.

@EarthboundBenjy "Thank you for showing us that a basic game feature doesn't work, unfortanately it's none of our business"

This game intrigues me so much and it looks so amazingly good, but then I remember that I played Stories 2 and I think it has the most boring, unappealing and worst Battle System I've ever seen in a JRPG.

It's basically a Paper, Rock Scissors game where you have to remember the sequence of enemy attacks. And it's always the same for the entire fight.

No planning, no strategy, no skills.
Just remember the order of attacks.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sales Have Got Off To A Slow Start

GoldenSunRM

@Cathalm it's probably going to sell less anyway, at least going by logic.

I mean, Age of Imprisonment is a spin-off of a sequel that sold less that the predecessor, I don't think the spin-off has a chance to beat the sales of its spin-off predecessor as well.

Also this is much more on a niche games aimed at the most dedicated Zelda fans, most sales will come regardless of how many Millions units the switch 2 has sold, as most of the die hard fans already got a switch 2.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations

@Metazoxan yeah this is a thing that many developers or publisher don't understand.

I like Spongebob, but I don't care about playing him in Sonic.

I like 2B, but I don't care about playing as her in a Fighting game of another series.

I like Persona 5, but I don't care about playing as Joker in Smash.

I don't remember a single time when I bought something for a special Guest character.

It's only a nice plus if I'm already interested in the base game.

Re: Mario Tennis On Switch 2 Has 38 Playable Characters – "The Most In Series History"

GoldenSunRM

@Itsashame I agree with you on the franchise quality. It's kind of been a meme to criticize them without even playing them, but except for a couple of entries (Tennis Open was a bit barebones and Ultra Smash was pretty much a demo for what I've seen online) the series has always been high quality.

Anyway, back on my original post, it's exactly because I already spent so long playing this games, that I wish they would change things up.
The story mode hyped me at the beginning (now this is probably going to sound like a silly complaint) but I can't stress enough how much I dislike the idea of playing as a toddler.
It just put me off.

Re: Mario Tennis On Switch 2 Has 38 Playable Characters – "The Most In Series History"

GoldenSunRM

@Itsashame I've been playing Mario Tennis since the N64 and GBC. Only one missed was Ultra Smash (pretty much the same for Mario Golf but for Super Rush).
I probably have multiple thousands of hours on the whole series.

This franchise has been pretty much stale since the GameCube/GBA games (tough Aces base gameplay was good, but the mechanics to be able to counter the balls from anywhere killed my enjoyment).

Re: Nintendo Suggests Metroid Prime 4's Tortured Development Meant It Was "Divorced From The Changing Of Times"

GoldenSunRM

@Yoshi3 thank you
So many people clearly misunderstanding on purpose, because they don't want to actually deal with a conversation of how bad the design of the locations is.

The problem is not the linearity by itself.
Most places are just corridors connecting square/circular rooms. Just finished replaying Prime 1 and it's so boring the rooms design in Prime 4. Most of the time you're going straight one way without looking back (or you go straight to the end and then get back, like Ice Area).

The Mines being the most egregious example of it.

I said it before in another news. The only reason why I accept this mess is because it was clearly a troubled project that tried to merge the original Metroid Prime 4 and the vision Retro had for the game, it's a mix of half baked ideas and they tried to glue them togheter and create something.
It's still an enjoyable game at the end of the day, but please let's not accept this as a baseline of what a good Metroid game is.

Btw I have no idea why some people are saying that with time people will like this game more, if anything, after the "being the new thing" passed, more and more people are going to see the mediocrity of it
