@LastFootnote this is true. I might have bought Resident Evil 1/4/5/6 and Revelations 1/2 all Digital. Same with Devil May Cry 1/2/3. But the total I've spent is probably less than a single day one Phisical Purchase.
@UpsideDownRowlet yeah that's my biggest complain. As an examples, I also like Other M A LOT because it leaned 100% in what it wanted to be.
Prime 4 at that point should have just kept the original plans probably, it would have been a very different kind of Metroid, but at least it would have been some kind of experience worth by itself. Now it feels like something else trying to cosplay as a Metroid Prime.
Best 3D Mario and I'll die on this hill.
Except the stage where they throw you around, and the casino, and the flipper bonus stage, and getting to the lone Island with Yoshi, and the watermelon festifal, and the sandbird stage, and the blue coins and... And I'm sure there's more.
Glad it's doing well.
I do think the praise is a bit too much overall, as it nowhere near as THAT level of good as people make it out to be.
In fact there's room for an insane amount of improvement on every single aspect of the game.
But it's still a an extremely fun time and I can't wait to get home from work to play it every day, so I'm glad it's doing well regardless.
I give it a 7.5. everything more than that is too much IMHO.
While the gameplay loop is extemely fun, the entire game feels like a 10 hours experience stretched to be 20/30 hours long (I have yet to play it that much, but I'm surely gonna go over the 20 hours mark going by how much content I still have left).
The entire game is pretty much the same. It's EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY FUN and the gameplay loop rewarding and addicting... But the entire game is the same. 5 hours in you'll have seen already everything the game has to offer and it will only be more and more of that.
Lack of missions variety, lack of locations variety, Level Design almost absent (almost all location are just random terrain without much thought put into it and connected by straight paths).
It's a really good game but with a lot of wasted potential, definitely lacking for the first fully single player Splatoon.
Really curious to try this. Octo Expansions and Side Order were both 9/10 experiences for me, the series always had great potential for a full single player game, so I'm ready for it.
@Alcea we were robbed of the Tempest remake.
The Director of the series left after Innocence R and Zestiria. I guess he was the one pushing for the remake of the DS trio.
It would have been really cool to see a "Full" TotT. It never felt like a finished game, especially since the game teases an entire world but only let you visit a couple of continents of it. It always felt like the first half of a bigger game to me.
I honestly couldn't care less.
Remake all the old games you want, there's so many older games I have yet to play, that I could go on for the rest of my lifespan without a new game announced and I would still have enough to play.
@DennisReynolds I find more odds that he think Arise is better compared to Granblue because of the story, when that it's pretty much the worst part of the game.
I much rather have a simple and straight forward story instead of wathever that thing was in Arise.
Perfectly modern game. Fluid Gameplay. Excellent 2D art. Already available on every modern console and usually available for 10€.
Origins would have made much more sense (I know it's included in this remake, but it's only port).
Any news on being able to buy Origins by itself? I really couldn't care less of this remake. Already bought it twice (Vita and SWITCH), I really don't want to buy it a third time only because it have Origins hostage...
I have to play this someday. As someone who played a bunch of Atelier games... They're all basically the same game gameplay wise and seeing one finally trying out new things actually Intrigues me.
I also find kind of odd how bad it was received by the fanbase due to being "Too different". There's a new atelier about once a year, it's not like you have to wait a lot for a new game anyway in the case you didn't like this One.
@FX29 I remember being barely able to hear the Battle music in the first Xenoblade, the Battle voice clip for some reason were sooooo unneccesary loud. The same for the sound effect.
Having a side character or the main character himself reminding the player of anything or keep on talking non stop is one of the worst sin of modern gaming.
God I wish I could have shut Pauline voice in Bananza. I don't know what wrong with modern developers thinking people need someone to keep talking over the gameplay at all times.
@N00BiSH Oh I already let go of the dream. I don't remember who exactly, I think Gregg Mayles himself, but a couple of years ago they said that he wasn't interested at all at revisiting any of the older RARE franchise.
In any case I highly doubt the current RARE would be able to create anything particolarly interesting anyway, I'm not a big fan of they're late games at all outside of Nuts and Bolts.
(I still find insane they didn't pay another developer to do the remakes tough, you don't need good new ideas to do that).
Rare seeing the absolute hype with the Smash Bros reveal (it's the most viewed Smash Reveal) and the hype with Banjo-Kazooie added to the NSO... And then decided to do absolutely nothing with it will forever be mindblowing to me...
The desire for a new game is clearly there, the same goes for a remake of Kazooie and Tooie. We were in the full "Let's remake all the classic platformer" period a couple of years ago too.
@JR150 I'm really expecting a big DK DLC for MK World at some point.
Pauline and DK have too few skins compared to all the other of the main cast and it's odd, there's also some strangely missing characters, like Diddy Kong and Funky (and to a lesser extent, Dixie too since she was in Tour).
Maybe we even get Bananza Villains or something like that.
@garfreek i really wish we would get some of those Nintendo games that everyone tends to forget.
Mario Party GBA (it had a story Mode with a lot of dialogue and Puzzle Solving), Donkey Kong Jungle Climber, Yoshi Universal Gravitation or Mario Pinball Land are good examples. While they're not amazing games but only good, they're still odd experiment that are worth playing for their unique Gameplay and I wish more people would try them out.
@HeadPirate thank you to be rational for once. Too many people get immediately worked up without thinking logically.
Xbox didn't do anything crazy here. There's too many people working in these companies and they said it themselves, too many layers of management and everything take ages to be decided.
Also to respond to some people above, you definitely don't need studios made of 2000/3000/4000 people to make a good game. There's a point where that create more confusion and less cohesion in the project you're trying to create.
And another thing. Where in the world can you except to release nothing of value for 6- 7 years and expect to keep your job?
Some of these company has only made games that were not successfull or no games at all over that period of time.
@MegaVel91 i have no idea what you're talking about or where your animosity is coming from. There's not a single line in that post where I spoke ill of the Megaman X games or expressed the thought of not wanting a new X game.
@StewdaMegaManNerd X6-7-8 aren't even canon to begin with. Zero 1 can happen only if the X series ends with X5. This to Say... If they wanted to continue with the X series they could do it, they clearly didn't care about the continuity when making the last 3 X games.
Maybe stop making new game for the original series and finally start a new one?
I'm sorry but I'm a huge Megaman fan, and X and Zero are so much better in every single way, I'm not interested in playing yet again a new game of the first series.
I didn't even buy Megaman 10 despite having every other Megaman.
Glad they're adding more content for free. As someone who already love the base game and thinks is the best MK since MK DS, I'm happy to see more content coming.
Let's hope they add them really fast, like 1 a month, altough this is something that should have come 6 months max after the game released, to keep the fanbase hyped and keep playing.
@KayFiOS I feel like Shovel Knight was in Smash only for the extremely lucky timing.
The character was new, everyone loved him, he became sort of a symbol for indie for a good while, and the new Smash Bros was just around the corner.
I feel it's similar to Sans too.
I don't think we're going to see him the next time, they didn't do much with the IP except milking the character and making new versions of the game and it kinda got forgotten.

Re: Rumour: Ganondorf Actor For The Zelda Movie May Have Been Leaked
Looked him up online, and I say he would be a nice pick. I can see him be a good Ganondorf.

Re: Talking Point: So, What Did You Think Of The Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Nintendo Direct?
3 Houses is absolutely everything the series should not be, as far as I'm concerned, so 3Houses 2 doesn't tempt me in the slightlest.
Might be the first FE game I don't buy on day one.
Re: UK Charts: Master Chief Knocks Splatoon Raiders Off The Top Spot
@nomither6 it's insane that, after 3 mediocre games, 343 hasn't already been all laid off, or at the very least completely change the developer team.
They managed to turn Halo from one of the biggest franchise in gaming into something completely forgettable.

Side Order and Octo Expansions are both the best Splatoon Experience to me.
Wild they're both in the last place. 💀
Re: Kingdom Hearts Collection Switch 2 Local Box Art Reportedly Updated
@Kiz3000 they must have realized it themselves. As KH stopped getting side games and spinoff completely.

Still best Mario 3D. 🙏
Re: Japanese Charts: Booyah! Splatoon Raiders Puts Up Some Huge Week-One Numbers
@GreenFlash yean it's the reason why, despite finding it absolutely a blast and super fun, I still feel like it's a really small and low budget game.
I hope they can greenlight a proper really big and ambitious game if they're doing another one.
Re: Japanese Charts: Booyah! Splatoon Raiders Puts Up Some Huge Week-One Numbers
Let's hope this convince them to make more Single Player focused Splatoon.
I love the multiplayer, but I have too much to play already to spend hundreds of hours into another infinite Multiplayer game.
Re: Feature: "He Was Like, 'No, I Don't Want That, I Want This One'" - LEGO Pokémon Designers Talk Kids & Prototype Pikachus
Do kids actually play with Legos still? I honestly see them only as collectibles for adults by now.
Re: Clair Obscur Dev Still Interested In Switch 2 Port, But Admits It Would Be A "Big Technical Challenge"
Would gladly buy this again if it comes, I'm not going to play it on a PlayStation anymore.

Wait so we're getting the skits!? They were removed on the PSP version I played.
Also hoping they add more translations like they did with Graces, it was never translated in italian before the remaster.
Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's Soundtrack Has Been Added To Nintendo Music This Week
Never liked this OST that much.
It has a bunch of bangers here and there, but overall I found pretty dull and boring.

Re: Pokémon Unite Officially Dropped From 2027 Pokémon World Championships
@Judal27 I remember trying to get back into the game, and was ASSAULTED by dozen of pop up of any kind.
Most of them where "BUY THIS SUPER EXPENSIVE SKIN/CURRENCY".
Half were FOMO events all being held at the same time.
I had red dots everywhere and passed about 30 minutes unchecking everything.
This would repeat every single day for an entire week.
It completely killed my interest in going back into it.

Still, that post was more talking about Microsoft Studios as a whole tough.
Re: Toys For Bob Reiterates Its Desire To Make A New Banjo-Kazooie Game

Dr.Mario + Puzzle League!? 😭
The GBA app must be the most forgotten, so many cool games and yet almost nothing for months.
Re: It's Official, Shantae's Seventh Game Will Arrive In 2027

They never made anything even close to it's quality IMHO.

Re: How Star Fox amiibo Unlocks Work On Switch 2

@N00BiSH yeah everyone always wanted realism from a Space shooter with Furries after all.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews For Star Fox On Switch 2 Are In
@StorminNorman eh while the game is supposed to be played multiple times, I can see how someone would find that a turn off.
If I wasn't already a fan of the original I would probably not buy it myself.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews For Star Fox On Switch 2 Are In
I'm sure the internet will be full of "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M ALREADY AT THE END CREDITS AFTER LESS THAN 2 HOURS!?" in a couple of days.
Re: Review: Star Fox (Switch 2) - Stays On The Rails, But Absolutely Hits The Target
@WheresWaveRace about that. I still find insane that there was no "Link story" as a bonus in Echoes of Wisdom.
I don't expect anything new here.

@larryisaman Sonic fans always seems to hype up everything that is not outright bad but only decent.
They are too used to mediocre games.
Re: Sonic Frontiers Has Sold Just Shy Of 5 Million Copies
Didn't Sega said Sonic is underperfoming or something?
The new Sonic is 5M.
A low budget 2D Sonic almost 3M.
And a Remaster with a tiny bit of added content is 3M.
Are they nuts? This is really good
