I have no idea how you can play RPG with others. I could never get into the world, atmosphere and the right mood with other people around commenting and doing stuff. Beside pretty much everyone has different way of playing this kind of games.
Reverie under the Moonlight was amazing, I can't wait for this one. Already preordered in the eshop and ready to play the moment I get back from work tomorrow.
Also Waiting 6-8 months for the Phisical Copy from LRG...
Everything takes ages. In the same time of a 30 turns game in Mario Party 1-2-3 I can only do 15 turns in this one. Unlocking other boards is the worst and I don't want to waste time doing pointless tasks just to get the necessary points to upgrade my rank.
And over half of the mini-games are not even playable in a regular board game with my Friends.
Good. I have a lot of fun with my friends with the opening of the daily packs. If we could just exchange everything easily half of the fun would be gone (I personally wouldn't even have added this feature in the first place).
@Splash_Woman yeah I always felt like this games is absolutely not intended to be played co-op and it was added in at the end just as a bonus. There's so many stages where it just work horribly. Tropical Freeze was better designed around it.
I honestly have no idea how could anyone complain about the lack of easy options for this game when it tries it best to not ever gives you any trouble.
At this point you might as well directly put cheat in the game, is the only remaining thing.
I do admit that it's silly to lock difficult modes on characters tough.
@Qwiff I actually think it's quite more difficult. In Tropical Freeze you can use Dixie and pretty much cheese most platforming section with her personal skill. In Country Returns you at most have Diddy skill with his limited hover with the jetpack. Especially if you're going for 100% and playing the Hard Mode the difference is massive, using DK instead of Dixie is like playing on extremely Hard Mode.
I'll be honest, this is the best platformer ever made for me, and this version has both good controls (hated the motion on Wii) and with a decent grip with the controller (playing on 3DS give me cramps, too small and uncomfortable).
So this is the perfect version in my eyes, a must have and I'll gladly triple dip.
@NicolausCamp Ys Memories of Celceta was the best mix of both style IMHO.
Dialogues were short but intriguing, the game lasts about 20-25 hours (I almost had 100% in 24 hours of gameplay) so it didn't last too much but still enough to not feel too short, and it's still was mainly gameplay without too many interruptions. VII and IX defininetely have too many dialogues.
@GravyThief Hope you have a good time with it. I had a blast in the 15 hours it took me to do it almost 100% (could't find a Jiggy).
The starting area is the most untouched, but the more you go into the game the more it changes. The amount of easter eggs, funny dialogues, cameo from other Nintendo games, smart and fun gameplay ideas, reference and music is just so perfect for me. There was not a single moment of boredom; it has an insane amount of secrets and some puzzles actually got me to take out pen and paper to write down stuff.
It's probably looks like I'm exaggerating, but I would honestly give to this guy a lead role in a hypothetical Banjo-Threeie if I could.
Banjo-Kazooie Jiggies of Time was a masterpiece, and I'm not exaggerating, he really nailed the original gameplay, and the whole world of OOT was so drastically modified than it felt almost like a completely new map. Looking forward to this one as well.
Glad they did. As Brothership was a blast except for the rather slow intro. My favourite in the series just below Super Star Saga.
Finally almost no strange gimmicks, no extreme linearity that made the world of the last Mario & Luigi feel like glorified corridors, and actual original characters with development and personality.
Please stop this whole "it got criticism because the reviewer was a woman".
99% of people don't even look at who is the author of a review, and even if they did, that would have been not the reason. It's really bad when someone gaslight himself into thinking that half the world is made of misogynistic people, and it also throw in the garbage any chance of having an actual discourse over a certain topic.
Btw the criticism of "too much water" always was and always will be bad, because it give for granted that you are supposed to automatically dislike that, but there's other people, like me, who actually appreciate it.
Also, the locations on ground were already enough so that the region was as big as any other region in the series, it's not like the presence of the sea made the region fell smaller.
If the problem were the random encounters, just buy a bunch of repellents.
@Serpenterror sort of. The level design is still different, so it's still a different game with different levels, even if it reuses soundtrack, map and enviroments.
@Elbow Yooka-Laylee 2 has been in development for about 2/3 years now. The music is probably already done I think. Tough I'm not really an expert on how this stuff work.
@Erigen came here to say exactly that. It's even probably why Star Fox Zero was a flop in the first place. I'm not going to spend 60€ for the fifth version of StarFox.
It's honestly wild to complain about the monetization, considering that in real life I should spend 7+€ for every pack I open up, while here I have 2 of them for free every day.
@N00BiSH I'll be honest. It's so strange to see so many people talking about how he still need to nail the voice properly, because I honestly can't tell the difference.
@GameName they definitely changed a lot over the years. Ys Origin to 6 are pretty much hack and slash, from 7 onward they became 100% action JRPG with builds, skill, team managing etc...
I personally loved both styles, but I can see how someone would not dig the new direction.
Man F-Zero is a series that I love but I can't for the life of me become good at it.
I was never able to win a single race at Hard in F-Zero X. Never beat story mode in F-Zero GX, and never got far with Maximum Velocity. Never hit first place on F-Zero 99 either.
@PikaPhantom Something I notice when playing the game is that the performance issues get more and more bad the more time you play without never turning it off. If you do it from time to time it gets a lot better.

@mikegamer well this year a complete remake of the first one comes out, if you're interested.
Re: Japanese Charts: Donkey Kong Is Still The King Despite Diminishing Sales
@DwaynesGames let's hope for that. Because we don't get a new one since Tropical Freeze.

Re: Super Mario Party Jamboree Is The Fastest-Selling Entry In Franchise History
Don't get the love for this entry.

Re: Momodora: Moonlit Farewell Brings More Pixel-Art Metroidvania Action To Switch
@RupeeClock I really dislike LRG, but I really want to support this developers as much as possible, thanks for the info, I didn't know that.

Momodora Reverie under the Moonlight is Amazing, played it 4 times. I can't wait for this one.

Re: Bananas Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Platforming Problem Is Ruining The Co-Op Fun
@LastFootnote you can unlock an Hard Mode where you can use any character you like, but you have no checkpoint and die in 1 hit.

Re: Review: Tales Of Graces f Remastered (Switch) - The Characters Steal The Show In This JRPG Classic
Still the Tales of with the best, complex and engaging Battle system of all. Probably the most difficult one as well.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Donkey Kong's Redesign In Mario Kart 9?
@RenanKJ it's honestly look more like a grown up DK Jr. than anything else to me.
Maybe it will ends up being DK, but I think people are jumping to conclusion here.

Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Has Been Nominated For Another Award
@nintendophilia the dungeons are so simple and straightforward it's almost insulting (minus the dungeon of the Deku Woods, that was really good)

Re: Best Of 2024: Why Play Final Fantasy VII Remake When You Could Play FFVII 'Demake'?
Almost nobody has ever heard about it. But this remind me that there is a chinese bootleg of Golden Sun as well.

I'll be honest, 1500 is not even that much to get every card. The guy must have been really lucky with his packs.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Library With Another Classic
Wish more people realized this is a 100% different game than DKC.
I love DCL and I can't wait to replay It.

Re: Exclusive: Croc Remaster Gets A Release Window And A Swanky Collector's Edition
Man 29,99€ for a PS1 game with some tweaking it's certanly a bit too much for me.
I'll probably wait for a sale.
Re: Video: Yooka-Replaylee Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Original & Remaster)
@The_Trooper49 Switch version was actually known to be and excellent port remade from scratch.
Of course the lighting and some texture were worse, but the final result was really good.
Btw I agree with you on the pause when hitting an enemy, It's so janky looking.
Re: Video: Yooka-Replaylee Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Original & Remaster)
Can we have the new content in the older versione? Because the graphic looks 100% worse.
Re: Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed (Switch) - Pleasingly Ambitious But Bloated
@AlienX maybe it's just me, but every new TMNT show has a look more childish than the one before.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Super Mario Party Jamboree?
@Lizuka Modern Mario Party really lack that sense of danger of the GameCube and N64 Games.
There's just too many way to win things and not enough to lose them. Even if you have fun it feels kind of bland.
Re: Video: Super Mario Party Jamboree - Every Minigame Included
Why even remove minigames when the engine is the same and you could just port them over to the new game and have more content with no effort?
Sometimes Nintendo's action are so odds.
Re: Random: Mario's New Voice Actor Says It's "Surreal" To Hear His Voice In Mario Party
@batmanbud2 I can't talk about that as I didn't saw the film in english.

@N00BiSH I'll be honest. It's so strange to see so many people talking about how he still need to nail the voice properly, because I honestly can't tell the difference.
Re: Review: Super Mario Party Jamboree (Switch) - Only The Best Game In The Series
That's really good to hear.
Now let's just hope they don't go back to a 10 characters roster and 4 Boards in the next installments.
They should go the Smash Bros route and just become bigger and bigger by building up on the previous game content.
Re: Review: Ys X: Nordics (Switch) - Another Great Entry, Though We're Not Sold On The Sailing
@Astropez I feel 8 had a good balance after the First 5-6 hours. But yes, Ys 9 took so long to take off it's ridiculous.

Re: No, Tomonobu Itagaki's Game Studio Hasn't Shut Down, It's Just Had A Name Change

It would be cool to have a switch Port.
Re: Bakeru Switch Physical Release Announced, Out February 2025
@PikaPhantom Something I notice when playing the game is that the performance issues get more and more bad the more time you play without never turning it off.

Re: Bakeru Switch Physical Release Announced, Out February 2025
This is so bad tough. There's no way they didn't already have this planned when they announced the digital version.
But they wanted idiot like me to double dip.
Re: Random: Fans Discover A Hidden Credits Screen In Zelda: Majora's Mask
@RupeeClock oh I just checked online and you're actually right. It just talk about the sounds issues, my bad.
Re: Random: Fans Discover A Hidden Credits Screen In Zelda: Majora's Mask
@Jack_Goetz Was about to say that.
Majora was emulated so badly that they literally made a disclaimer when you opened the game saying that it could freeze and there was audio problems.
Re: Video: Here's Absolutely Everything You Need To Know About Super Mario Party Jamboree
I have a lot of hope for this. It really feels like we are finally back to having A LOT of content like the N64 and GameCube Mario Party.
