If Nintendo were to sell the N64 games alone, it would be for 10€ each. Now, for 20€ (I already had the base service and in Europe is 40€ for base + Expansion) I got to play every single N64 game that it's on the service.
I personally would have bought: Ocarina of Time Majora's Mask Banjo-Kazooie F-Zero X Mario Kart 64 Yoshi Story Mario Golf
10€ each is 70€.
I'm literally paying 20 for something that otherwise would costs me 70.
And this is just if we count the games that are already on the service or announced. Surely they're gonna add Banjo-Tooie, DK64 and other games, wich I would also buy
@JonEnumber5 same here. Just completed everything yesterday and had a ton of fun with it; honestly if people online didn't pass the last 2 weeks criticizing the input lag and the lack of fog I wouldn't have notice a thing.
@HungryHungryHomer if someone sub to the service it means that it's worth for them. So that argument has really no bearing on their decisions.
I did and I don't see why I should feel bad for people who don't. Nintendo offer a service and you can choose to either accept it and pay, or not. Is that simple. And people shouldn't be so entitled to tell others how to spend their money.
One of the reasons why recent Pokémon game were extremely easy is because you can change the moveset how you want in any moment.
I loved when I had to actually think about wich moves were the best and I had to keep for my Pokémon.
Honestly, focusing so much on the competitive scene was the biggest error of the series, as long as I'm concerned.
A question from someone who last played FIFA on N64 (FIFA98 I think)
Even if this FIFA was up to date with the version on PS and XBOX, what new features would have? I'm not trolling, I really have no idea what different could you have in a new Football game other than updating the roster and the graphics.
I occasionally played newer FIFA with friends (and with newer I mean 2006 and 2012 lol) and they all seems like the same game but with better graphic.
People are freaking out over nothing. Smash Bros Melee and Brawl had a similar thing to get trophies with in-game currencies (that you could get by playing matches). Would people being freaking out over that too if it had the possibilities to also spend real money to get the trophies?
@ATaco yeah, but after 45 hours into Tales of Arise (on Hard mode too) I can confirm that the balancing is perfect and they didn't try to make the game artifically difficult to make people spend money on the boosters DLC.
I don't really know how it is on western game usually, as I don't play many of them, but on japanese one, it never felt like I had to grind or buy levels.
@DK-Fan I personally dislike every single soundtrack of every single Dragon Quest.
I'm a huge fan of the series, but I never could get into the music. It really sounds like generic MIDI music you would hear in an editor like RPG MAKER or something, as soulless as music can be.
The worst part of the soundtracks is when you're playing a 100+ hours game and you hear the same 5 tunes always whenever you go.
And most of the time it even ruins the atmosphere of the game. Like, who thought that using the happy and adventurous overworld theme of DQ11 was fitting for the second part of the story? It's totally off.
At this point anyone complaining about the Pay to win is probably a troll.
It's been explained countless time, by many people who actually play the game, that is not Pay to win at all in every single comment section of every news about the game.
People in the comments completely ignoring anything written by others, and coming just to insult the game for being P2W when it's clearly not for anyone who has played for more than a bunch of matches...
Anyway, discussions about the microtransaction aside, this game can be a lot of fun and that's is what matters.
I don't even understand the points about having to grind, it's not like you go around killing the same enemies over and over again to level up like in an RPG, here you obtain everything you need by doing matches, wich is what the entire game is all about. It's not time wasted by any means if you like it (and if you don't, what even the point in playing it).
@Ralizah
Defining a genre by the country of origin of the developers doesn't even make any sense to begin with. Simply because knowing that a game has been made by a Japanese doesn't say anything about the game itself.
Except for RPG. I mean, there's a reason if "JFPS" or "Jplatform" is not a thing. Because Japanese FPS and platform don't have features that would make you immediately think about a game made in Japan.
In the end what you think is right or wrong doesn't matter. The term JRPG is being used that way and it took that meaning.
You can accept that or not, but you refusing to do it is not gonna change the meaning the word took.
I personally think the word "Metroidvania" is really silly, as it means nothing and it was used to refer to the Castlevanias that played like a Metroid.
But my opinion is not gonna change how people are gonna use that word.
In the end everyone already knows what kind of game they are about to play if you call it a JRPG or a Metroidvania. And that is what matters.
@Ralizah
It's really easy to understand when an RPG is made with the intention of being like a japanese one.
Just look at games like Edge of Eternity, Cosmic Star Heroine, Crimson Gem Saga or Magna Carta.
It's just more useful to define how an RPG is this way, instead of using that word just for the country it's made.
What you just said is a good example of what I'm talking about.
Nobody, when asked about what JRPG he should play, would be interested in Dark Souls because, developer aside, it plays and looks nothing like one.
@Cia
Someone on Twitter spread a rumor about a Zelda show in the works.
Some time after that he said the show was probably cancelled because it leaked.
So yeah, people are now treating this as if it was official, when It was just a "leaker" cancelling his own "leak" because he knew it wasn't the truth.
A message to everyone interested in this but worried about the lenght.
Every Disgaea is totally enjoyable even if you only do the main story, wich take about 35-45 hours (still have to play the 5 tough, so I don't know for that one).
I really agree with this.
The only Shantae game that has the same refined dungeons is Pirate's Curse.
Half Genie Hero is totally different (and not in a good way), while Seven Sirens only have one good dungeon and to actually had fun I had to keep myself from not upgrading my hearts and not use any Magic (until the vert Last Battle, at least). The Gameplay is that broken.
So they hyped an announcement that ended up being pretty much nothing. I mean.... Good for them. But I would prefer if they announce stuff like this without giving us a date to look forward too.
I had plenty of friends (both online and real Life) who used to be pirates and didn't buy anything. They usually ended up playing a bunch of games all at once, not beat a single one, and then abbandon them all because they always had another game ready that they wanted to try. Having always everything available immediately and without paying makes it feel like it has less values.
@PBandSmelly The worst part is that gamers forgot everything that happened the moment they announced Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2, despite the fact that they obviously did it to cover that incident.

Re: Mario Party Superstars Leaks Online Ahead Of Next Week's Official Launch
@Arawn93
Yes, it's ridiculous, I'm not even criticizing them for being ok with pirating the game.
But if you're gonna do it, at least don't try to come up with stupid excuses as to why you have the rights to pirate it.
Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes
I see no problem with the asking price.
So I'll gladly pay and play most of the N64 games.
Honestly I can't wait to play F-Zero X, Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing online with my friends.

That's a wonderful news.
I still have to play and Open World with good balancing.
There's a reason if most of the them make the enemy level up with you.

Re: Japanese Charts: Dragon Ball Z Debuts In Second As Switch Takes Seven Of The Top Ten
@Specter_of-the_OLED
How is that a port if it released simultaneously?
It has less sales simply because there's a lot less people who have it.
Personally, if I had a PS5, I would have gladly bought it on that. But for now I see no reason to spend so much money on that thing.

Re: Talking Point: A Nintendo Direct With Something For Everyone, And Quite A Few Surprises
I wouldn't say that Nintendo kept the content a secret.
Bayonetta 3, Kirby and the N64 Online were all leaked before the presentation.
Literally anything new Nintendo was going to show was leaked.
Re: Review: WarioWare: Get It Together! - More Magnificent Microgame Mayhem

To be fair, Yooka-Laylee was reviewed with the Switch version, wich already has all the patches included.
Re: Review: Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1 - Cult Classic Tactics RPGs, But Undeniably Dated
I have absolutely no idea were the 5/10 is coming from after reading the review.
I didn't even play these games so I'm not defending them.
All of the problems listed are trivial at best and the reviewer praise the Battle system and the story.
Re: Elements, A Breath Of The Wild-Style Open-World Adventure, Aims For Switch In 2022
@Purgatorium
Oh sorry, I just saw so many people actually serious about it to completely lose the ability to tell when someone is being sarcastic.
I feel like many people here just have fun saying the opposite of the newser.
Like if the news don't say anything about being similar to BotW, the comment section will be full of "OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS SOOOOO RIPPING OF BOTW".
But if the newser talk about it, there's full of comments like:"WTF WHY DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT EVERY OPEN WORLD IS A BOTW COPY".
Re: Elements, A Breath Of The Wild-Style Open-World Adventure, Aims For Switch In 2022
@Purgatorium
Because of the climbing and gliding mechanics that those Open World games you mentioned don't have.
Re: Review: The Silver Case 2425 - Style Over Substance In This Pair Of Early Suda51 Epics
Seems like the usual SUDA game.
An unplayable mess (gameplay wise) that get good score because it has style, strange characters and cool presentation.
His games reminds me of those "so bad it's so good" films... The difference here is that a game is also supposed to be nice to play.

Re: Feature: Zelda: Spirit Tracks Finally Gave The Princess A Crucial Role To Play

Only Zelda wich I played through just once for this sole reason.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #81 - The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
I find funny how Americans boxart always have the characters angry or pissed of in the cover.
Re: Best Game Boy Advance RPGs
Really happy to see both Riviera and Yggdra Union on the list. They are as awesome as they are strange.
Re: Best Nintendo DS RPGs
I absolutely disagree on Sonic. That game was as mediocre as a JRPG can be.
And Sands of Destruction, while being interesting, has a Battle system and a overall balance that are a complete mess.
Nostalgia has a great idea, but the game itself is the epitome of everything that is generic in a JRPG.
Was not expecting Luninous Arc 2 tough. Glad to see it on the list.

I don't want to sound rude. As this guy probably put a lot of effort in what he creates.
