Re: Switch 2 Units Are Allegedly Out In The Wild, But You Might Need An Update To Play Games

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

@Solid_Python
I admit I read into this too quickly. My guess is this will not apply to physical Switch 2 games on or after launch day

If it does require internet connection for physical games, and they don’t make it clear that an internet connection is required, I’m sorry but that is bad form

Sure internet is ubiquitous in this day and age IN MOST DEVELOPED AREAS. But what about some other countries, or people in very rural areas?

Re: US Retailers Are Reportedly Starting To Receive Switch 2 Stock

@Misima
Patches and updates are not required for physical games or consoles to work.

Again, I have played about 50 physical games on my Switch and it has NEVER been connected to the internet. I have yet to come across a game that didn’t work start to finish. I’m buying games sometimes from 2017. I did buy my console in 2021.

I see nowhere it says connecting your Switch 2 online will be required for anything if the full game is on the carts you buy

Re: How Well Do You Remember Super Mario Galaxy 2?

@jake1421 mouse would definitely be better than Switch motion controls for star bit collecting. But you also need to waggle that right-hand remote.

Hopefully they release a sensor bar and Wii remote whenever they start doing Wii virtual console. World of Goo and games like this just aren’t anywhere faithful

Really enjoying Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Thought it was gonna be too easy thus boring, but it’s not at all if you go for 100% as you go along. Getting the time trial check mark on the bonus levels is a nice little challenge.

I find the value and fun of most first party Nintendo games these days lies in going for 100%

Re: Video: Nintendo Demonstrates How To Sync Original Joy-Con With Switch 2

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I’ll try out the Switch 2 joy con for a bit, and maybe use them with first party games that really take advantage of the new rumble or design, then probably keep wearing down my old trusty Switch 1 Joy cons, if it doesn’t change the “feel” of gameplay too much, for third party games where the difference may be moot

If you play a lot if Mario Kart LOCAL multiplayer, this is very good news you can all use you old switch controllers. I imagine most people that have MK8 will easily already have 2,3,4 sets of controllers now for MK World. That helps justify the higher price a bit imo

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Open To Sequel, But Admits Updates Are "Much Easier"

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I’m all for that. I had my fun with Stardew Valley. He should do what he wants. I for one am much more excited that The Chocolatier is not a Stardew sequel.

I played sooooo much Stardew last year (my first time playing it). But I don’t think I ever will again, and that is no knock at all. Oddly it’s the opposite. It was so memorable I just don’t need to repeat it. Listening to the soundtrack from time to time when I want that huge nostalgia hit will be great. Some absolute transcendental tunes there. It’s a 10/10, unforgettable game. And I have lots of games Ive played multiple times and plan to revisit, but not Stardew.

Can’t wait for Haunted Chocolatier

Re: Former Rockstar Dev Throws Shade At Mario Kart World, Says New GTA Will Be Worth The Price

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

Not a video game. It’s yet another interactive movie.

Nintendo should respond: while we do have exciting new ventures in the film industry (shameless plug for Zelda and Mario movies) we are a video game company first and foremost, not a movie company.

I’m guessing GTA VI will have tons of extra paid “DLC” and end up way more than MK World when actually “complete”

Re: Talking Point: With Prices Rising, Are Your Gaming Habits Changing?

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

@PharoneTheGnome I was mostly saying that you don’t have to eat unhealthy, pre-prepared food that costs 3-4x more than if you were to make your own. If you do eat out or eat fast food daily, you could save probably $50-100 per week. Start cooking your own simple foods now, only drink water and you would have enough for a Switch 2 in a month
