Nintendo has always had it right here. Always focus on the gameplay first. Anyone can make a really pretty and cutting edge (graphically) game with enough resources and artists.

It’s similar to all these super technical guitarists on YouTube. Thousands of players out there that can play the most complex prog or shred guitar. But most of them can’t write a truly great song or play a note by itself with distinct feel and emotion. And that’s what makes good music imo. All about feel

That was always why I never bought games at GameStop. They always ruined the physical game boxes with their stickers. I think they would even do it with new games. For some stupid reason they would open new games and stash the disc or cartridge away. And sell at full new price. I get that it was for theft prevention, but that is no longer a “new copy” if they unsealed it.

I’m a physical fan but I think a game like Mario Kart World is one rare type of game where I would prefer digital. I usually play one game at a time until completion then move to the next. But Mario Kart is a game I play when friends or family are around, so it’s nice to always be accessible on my Switch despite which cartridge I have in. Not a Pokémon player but Pokopia seems like a similar game in that regard. Bananza is more of a game I want physical because I would play to completion then into the next game.

@Waluigi451 How much do Walmart and Amazon make when someone buys from the EShop? I think that’s the bottom line. Not a huge fan of those companies but good for them for standing up for physical in a way here. They clearly see the trend away from physical and are wise to fight against it. Nintendo needs to stay in good graces with them because they need them to sell their hardware. It’s definitely an interesting dance.

Great news for the Let’s Stay Physical movement. If people stop buying physical, they will stop offering. Price differences make sense, but not $10. That feels like they want to push us physical fans into submission. A $3 “physical tax” would be more appropriate to cover the added manufacturing/export costs. This is even better. After 5 games you have saved the same amount as the hardware increase.

I think more than ever now that they should release an extremely budget, console only (no screen/no handheld option) Switch 1. That certainly has a robust library. And they could grab that record over PS2.

Most importantly, so many people are priced out of modern console gaming. Especially kids (no income). If they want to keep building a lifelong customer base like they have always done, they need to be careful in this regard right now. Definitely should cut the price of Switch Lites and the big classic S1 games.

I don’t think I’d have spent so much on Nintendo throughout my life without those core Nintendo experiences as a kid.

My Switch backlog is still so big AND I just started Skyrim a month ago and it looks like that is gonna hold me down for a long time…. So I’ll likely wait for the first updated hardware or collector’s Switch 2

The movie design wouldn’t fit in with the other characters in the game version. Plus the pointy ears are dumb. Game version looks more like a star fighter, movie version looks like a stuffed animal

I don’t like tons of control options. Nintendo used to offer 1 controller scheme perfectly matched to their hardware and that’s what made their games so polished and high quality feeling. I like games that don’t give me any control options, as crazy as it sounds. Similarly, I don’t like changing any settings and choose default difficulty. I always want to play a game exactly as developers intended. Metroid Prime 4 making me select a scheme right off the bat gave me stress.

Plan to eventually. Physical ALWAYS if available. I’m just glad we are finally starting to exit “Switch 2 Edition” era. Reboots/remasters/remakes of old games… now that’s the Nintendo I know!

I prefer new games of big IPs and new IPs, however they are announced. Pokémon and Switch 2 Editions do nothing for me, but that’s just my opinion

Fox looks so wimpy and harmless in the movie compared to his classic look.

Skyrim. Didn’t realize it was such a point and click game, but that might be the most fun part (searching rooms for good items and useful books to read). Getting deep into it either way. Combat is a bit generic and lacking but I can see why it was so heralded overall. There is a glaring audio bug I’m getting that I see is common, so that’s a bit of a bummer. Every now and then there will be an audio crackle.

On one hand the Switch 1 user base is so massive it would be smart for them to continue to release games like Tomodachi and Rhythm Heaven just as Switch 1 games if they don’t require the hardware boost. On the other hand they obviously want to make Switch 2 more enticing and that is their new focus. So it will be interesting to see how long and how much they continue to release Switch 1 games.

I wonder if this will be the last big release for Switch 1. I will play on Switch 1 just like I did Prime 4, because that’s what it was originally designed for.

This would be something they start to intentionally, but secretly, “leak.” Not only does a soft leak lessen the reaction and outrage by easing us into the news, it can also compel people on the fence to go ahead and buy a unit

My sleeper prediction is the next announced Nintendo movie will be The Animal Crossing Movie. Set to release 2028 with the next game in the franchise.

More likely is The Donkey Kong or The Luigi Mansion Movie.

Pikmin are awesome. Sone of my favorite Nintendo games. They make a nice additional tiny protagonist character for the Mario universe.

And you are also telling us that a new Mario is due in the next year or two, considering it’s been almost ten years since the last one. NO WAY!

Still need to watch the first movie but I do own it. Will buy Galaxy when it comes out too. Galaxy looks better just based on previews and what I know of reviews for the first one. Looks more action packed and I’m of course a big Galaxy fan in general. I also really love SMB2, so those characters are cool to see included.

Would love a movie focused on all the Koopalings. I think they have more character in design than almost all characters of the Mario universe. Happy they were a focus of Wonder DLC.

Free unsubscribed YouTube is all I need for all of my music listening and picture viewing. There is an endless amount of content between music and video on YouTube. And combined with the free tv website with every station (tv app/pass) I don’t pay anything and have no problems watching everything I ever want.

Nintendo Switch is all I need for video gaming. Now that Elden Ring is coming to Switch the only game I feel I’m missing out on is AstroBot. Otherwise my Switch 1 backlog is still 2-3 years full

I have a 3DS XL with all the virtual console games they gave us free for ambassador program. It is spotless because I take good care of my stuff. Didn’t play it a ton either. I’d call it like new.

If you get truly “upset” over spoilers you probably haven’t been through much in life. It’s all just fiction. I would never spoil anything, that’s jerk behavior don’t get me wrong here. But I also don’t get freaking out over it. The sun will still rise tomorrow even if you prematurely find out what happens in the movie or game you are about to enjoy.

I’m a lifelong Nintendo fan and gamer and I’ve never played a Pokémon game. Always thought I should start with the OG. So I will add these to my backlog
