It’s kind of a Switch Pro. But if they called it that sales would be minuscule in comparison.

@Don I think it’s pretty safe to say that Nintendo is at its best when it’s back is against the wall. That’s kind of how nature works. Fight or flight puts organisms into superstrength overdrive.

My hope and prediction is that they are going to make the next major Mario title truly innovative. Since they didn’t do that with the hardware this time. Do it with the flagship series instead. Plus, I think there isn’t much left to do with the 3D Mario formula. I have no idea how they push it to a new level, but if they can I will have a lot of faith restored.

In about 3-5 years, Sony is going to magically discover that the PS2 actual sold a few more million units

My backlog is still too substantial to replay any games. But Witcher 3 is on it so I will be playing that on Switch 2

The new voice just lacks much character imo. It’s just kinda, weak and thin

Great piece! I definitely went in blind to Xenoblade Chronicles and the fact the game/planet surface is a fallen creature was very interesting. And then you kinda spend all game trying to conceptualize what “part” of the body you are on in the back of your mind.

Have played 1-3. All great big games. But 2 and 3, especially, just didn’t do it as much for me as 1. I’m currently playing and 60 hours into XCX Remaster and it’s won me back over. Love the combat and able to clearly/easily follow the story far. LOVE the world/map and exploration aspect.

My big question is am I really on the surface of a planet, or is it another fallen giant? Excited to find out

Sorry but I hope they get all these “updated Switch 1” games out of the way pretty quick. I at least hope they aren’t devoting much manpower to them. For a company that already relies heavily on remakes over and over, releasing games 2-5 years after the original with pretty (IMO) minimal updates just doesn’t interest me at all. But I know a lot of others care more than me about frame rate, resolution, etc

Actually, I’ve completely worn the rubber off my left joy con stick, but the right not nearly as much. So this isn’t completely useless info/idea. Don’t think I’d ever mix and match, but since you can buy joy con separately it’s not a bad feature to have

Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch 1

I enjoyed XC 1. XC 2 and 3 not so much mostly for the over the top and hard to follow story and unnecessary changes to combat. Xenoblade X is much more like 1 to me. Simpler story and better combat. Really enjoying it.

God also intended you to play with detached joycons, so docked is the only way!!!

I never use GameStop because so often if you buy a “new” game there at full price they have already removed the shrink wrap and stuck a sticker RIGHT ON THE BOX.

Sorry but I think they are terrible and this was no surprise at all. I will walk into a store and buy my Switch 2 where I can inspect the box has nothing applied to it or been opened

And there is stock at all the big stores around me. I knew this and it’s why I didn’t pre-order. Because pre orders often get “sticker star’d”

The stickers are pretty lame tbh. I could see those starting to peel many years down the road

I loved Hot Shots back on the PS1 or 2 can’t recall. Golf is one sports video game I may play every few years. If reviews aren’t really high for this I’ll just wait for new Mario Golf

Exact same here. I enjoyed it. But it just wasn’t memorable at all. Hardly remember playing it tbh and it was just last fall. No desire to replay it either.

I deeply regret selling consoles and games in the past. And I hear this from almost everyone. I’m in a better financial spot which helps but if you can, I advise you to try your hardest to hold onto your old games and consoles. It’s not worth it. Try to save money in other ways. Put off getting the Switch 2 for a while. Do whatever you can because it’s one of my biggest regrets selling my Gamecube, Advance, etc

All the Switch 2 games will still be there for you to buy a year from now. If you are older than a teenager you should not experience FOMO anymore, either

Switch 2 only has 3 games Ive added to my log. Mk, DK, and Elden Ring. I still have about 15 on my log on Switch. I will wait a while.

I still won’t care that much about this movie. Every Zelda game is different and movie should do it’s own thing too. Can’t go into this hoping it will fit YOUR expectations of what Zelda is.

I know, first world problems. I absolutely love that it takes like 2 clicks and 3 seconds to jump back into my game whenever I power my switch on. So I’m fine if Switch 2 keeps everything the same there

Just give us option to get rid of Home Screen anyway. I turn on my switch and immediately open whatever game I’m playing. I spend 1 second on menu

Sure internet is ubiquitous in this day and age IN MOST DEVELOPED AREAS. But what about some other countries, or people in very rural areas?

I’ve owned my Switch for 5 years and played 50 physical games just fine without ever connecting it online

I would think this does not apply to physical Switch 2 games

I just buy case for the actual console itself. That’s all that needs to be super snug and protected anyway. I have a sweet neon green glow in the dark super mushroom case for my Switch. The controllers, games, dock, cords, etc I just throw into regular travel bags

Patches and updates are not required for physical games or consoles to work.

Again, I have played about 50 physical games on my Switch and it has NEVER been connected to the internet. I have yet to come across a game that didn’t work start to finish. I’m buying games sometimes from 2017. I did buy my console in 2021.

I see nowhere it says connecting your Switch 2 online will be required for anything if the full game is on the carts you buy

For Zelda they could do a couple small rides. An Epona Merry Go Round, a Red Dragon ship (Wind Waker) that rocks back and forth and goes upside down. Maybe an interactive walk through where you have a sword and walk through lost woods and a dungeon. If it’s a coaster a Death Mountain theme. Zora water ride.
