I don’t like GameStop because they often open physical games and sell as “new”

New 3D Mario will be the big holiday release, that’s a good docked game. Animal Crossing will be next year’s big release (again likely at the start of summer because it’s a good travel/handheld game). Then we start getting into new Splatoon, Zelda territory late 2026/2027

My switch works fine but I’ve worn all the rubber off the left joystick and the right is almost there. Still works just fine. Occasional drift from joycons and dropouts but those were there from day 1. You learn to work around those issues anyway. If it’s a game that requires tight precision and controls (like Celeste for example) I use pro controller.

But I hate GameStop. They open all of their physical games and put stickers on the box. If I’m buying a new physical game at full price it better be in its shrink wrap

I know so many people in America that are preparing like they are going for Taylor Swift tickets on Ticketmaster. They have already saved all their billing info on pre order sites, they are gonna try through multiple retailers using multiple screens, and they are having their friends and family try.

I’m surprised they never released a Mario Kart 8 Super Deluxe a year or two ago with all the complete DLC on one cartridge. I think they will do that with Smash Ultimate on Switch 2

Just wait until they announce Dark Souls 4 is Switch 2 exclusive. That would really bring the melts!

The amount of people online telling others that they DON’T plan to buy something is pretty comical. Not really this game as much as Switch 2 and Mario Kart. One video on YouTube from a guy that clearly hates Nintendo trying to convince people not to buy Switch 2 has millions of views. Millions will be having a blast enjoying a brand new Mario Kart years and years in the making, when everyone is new to it and on the same skill level…. And that guy will still be yelling into the void acting like he doesn’t have FOMO.

As for this game? I don’t think I’d really play it even if it were free. As many have said, it’s not required for anything, like every video game ever created.

$10 is the cost of a single fast food meal now. Thats the same as this game, or the extra cost of Mario Kart. One unhealthy meal. One less soda a day for a week. Eat a PBJ, some pasta, some vegetables, rice and beans once or twice a week instead of having McDonald’s delivered and you will have enough to buy the entire Mario Kart bundle by June. And you will feel much better!

I noticed there is a Smash Bros. Gamecube controller for Switch 1. Does that work with any games besides Super Smash?

I’ve never played a Fire Emblem game. What game that is available on Switch (in any form, whether the new one for Switch or archival release), is a good one to start with?

Great to see the Digital Foundry guys have been generally positive about Switch 2. That’s all I really need. I’m just not picky about frame rates and cutting edge specs. Nintendo has always and should always strive to make the best GAMES, not movies. Physics and gameplay stressed foremost, with adequate modern visuals.

I would rank them - 1,3,4,2 but it’s very hard after 1 and they are all 10s imo. I think my ranking of 3 is a bit controversial but something about that music and screen at the end of each day as you turn your fruit into juice. 1 is just an incredible vibe all around. Desolate beauty. Never overstays it’s welcome, as that is my only complaint about 2 and 4… there’s too much to do!

I’m down for improvements here for sure. I use loose joy con primarily and the rumble always seemed kinda… lacking at best. Not really in the “amount” of it, but the “quality” if that makes sense. Just felt cheap

I prefer 1 player offline experiences

I think we saw the FromSoftware exclusive because more companies are realizing that specs have just become too expensive to max out. The cost and time to develop games that max out PC/PS5 specs these days are insane. And most people can hardly tell the difference once you get past a certain point. The entire industry needs to examine how Nintendo has always dominated and been the best: by prioritizing GAMEPLAY over specs

Loading times is probably my biggest thing. Nintendo proves over and over that gameplay is so much more important than specs. But recently I’ve been disappointed with a few load times on Switch. The battle screen for Brothership most recently. If they could have reduced that by just 1 second it would have made that game feel so much more “Nintendo quality”

@Paddle1 same with my joy cons. I sit just a few feet away from console. If I recline so that my legs are kinda in between the joy con and console the connection drops out (ignores button inputs) all the time. I think it’s an issue with Bluetooth and living things. I think I read once that Bluetooth doesn’t go through water well and that’s what we are mostly made up of.

The hardware had ten years to improve. It’s really not that amazing of a jump imo

I think $80 is okay for MarioKart since the last MarioKart lasted 11 years on the top 10

I always found with my OG joy on that drop out and ghost button pushes were more frequent than the joystick drift

I prefer to play with loose joy con, and I am 6’2 so my hands aren’t small. I’ve always loved having my arms resting at my sides. I think it’s one of the best things about Switch.

Arms at side so my cat can sit in my lap without my hands together holding a classic style video game controller over top of him.

I’m a little worried about the joy con automatically going into mouse mode if you turn them? Hope you can turn that off

Patches and upgrades are overrated. I’ve played every major release on switch without ever connecting the console to the internet. I’ve played about every game in the Nintendo life Top 50 Switch games. Never updated or patched a single one. They all worked just fine.

I love that it takes like 3 seconds to turn on my Switch and pick up right where I left off. That’s all I need to do. That’s all I’ve ever done. Shoot, get rid of the Home Screen entirely for all I care!
