Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (10th May)

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

Really enjoying Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Thought it was gonna be too easy thus boring, but it’s not at all if you go for 100% as you go along. Getting the time trial check mark on the bonus levels is a nice little challenge.

I find the value and fun of most first party Nintendo games these days lies in going for 100%

Re: Video: Nintendo Demonstrates How To Sync Original Joy-Con With Switch 2

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I’ll try out the Switch 2 joy con for a bit, and maybe use them with first party games that really take advantage of the new rumble or design, then probably keep wearing down my old trusty Switch 1 Joy cons, if it doesn’t change the “feel” of gameplay too much, for third party games where the difference may be moot

If you play a lot if Mario Kart LOCAL multiplayer, this is very good news you can all use you old switch controllers. I imagine most people that have MK8 will easily already have 2,3,4 sets of controllers now for MK World. That helps justify the higher price a bit imo

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Open To Sequel, But Admits Updates Are "Much Easier"

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I’m all for that. I had my fun with Stardew Valley. He should do what he wants. I for one am much more excited that The Chocolatier is not a Stardew sequel.

I played sooooo much Stardew last year (my first time playing it). But I don’t think I ever will again, and that is no knock at all. Oddly it’s the opposite. It was so memorable I just don’t need to repeat it. Listening to the soundtrack from time to time when I want that huge nostalgia hit will be great. Some absolute transcendental tunes there. It’s a 10/10, unforgettable game. And I have lots of games Ive played multiple times and plan to revisit, but not Stardew.

Can’t wait for Haunted Chocolatier

Re: Former Rockstar Dev Throws Shade At Mario Kart World, Says New GTA Will Be Worth The Price

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

Not a video game. It’s yet another interactive movie.

Nintendo should respond: while we do have exciting new ventures in the film industry (shameless plug for Zelda and Mario movies) we are a video game company first and foremost, not a movie company.

I’m guessing GTA VI will have tons of extra paid “DLC” and end up way more than MK World when actually “complete”

Re: Talking Point: With Prices Rising, Are Your Gaming Habits Changing?

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

@PharoneTheGnome I was mostly saying that you don’t have to eat unhealthy, pre-prepared food that costs 3-4x more than if you were to make your own. If you do eat out or eat fast food daily, you could save probably $50-100 per week. Start cooking your own simple foods now, only drink water and you would have enough for a Switch 2 in a month

Re: The Company That "Leaked" Switch 2 Is Being Sued By Nintendo

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

The hardware was just a steady and slow leak over the last year until we knew pretty much everything

The software was kept under complete wraps. They must have sone really scary NDA they make all their employees and software partners sign

Hardware is different because it’s obviously being produced in factories all over and so many different pieces and companies at work on it

Re: Oops, Yuji Horii Might May Not Have Leaked Massive Remake News After All

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

If they do a remake, would it really hurt or take much energy to throw a faithful port in as well? I can’t imagine it would take up ANY space. We need this original game on Switch. I always get a little annoyed when they do these remakes but don’t throw in the original game. I’d be MUCH more willing to buy a physical version of the remake if they did so. And I’d have both options on one cartridge.

Re: Rumour: Ubisoft Might Already Be Teasing More Switch 2 Games

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

@Chlocean the physical version of Lost Crown is only around $20 last I checked. I do really enjoy Metroidvanias, but I think it’s just a terrific game in general. There is a lot of great 2D platforming. Solid story and cutscenes, and satisfying combat along with the Metroidvania searching/backtracking and progression.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I bought my Switch in 2021 and have never connected it to the internet. I’ve played about every game on NL’s 50 Best Switch games list in physical form. Have never updated my console, never updated or patched a single game. They all ran just fine to completion.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO UPDATE YOUR CONSOLE OR GAMES

For Switch 2 I will likely buy the MK bundle, so I will connect online and that will be my first digital game. If Elden Ring doesn’t come complete on a cart I will buy that digitally as well. Will not but the key card games as of this moment.

Re: Yes, You Can Adjust The Camera In Mario Kart World

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

My biggest complaint with MK 8 is that your character feels way too big/camera too zoomed in. I’d rather be able to zoom out but I at least like that the camera is a little more zoomed out from what I’ve seen in World so far. With 24 racers we need that along with wider feeling roads

Re: Limited Run's Atlus Switch 2 Collector's Edition Is A 'Game-Key Card' Release

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I knew when Nintendo started doing paid DLC it would eventually get to this point.

The main idea is to maximize continuous and ongoing revenue. One way to do this is paid DLC. Next is controlling “ownership” and reserving the rights to the tangible product they have sold.

I’ll never forget an interview with Miyamoto in the Wii or so era. He was totally against DLC. He said a game should be complete when shipped out and that’s the end of it.

Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I like playing games and consoles exactly as intended. So I use joycons even when playing in docked mode. Don’t need any extras!

Also don’t care for the grip anyway. I LOVE having my arms and individual joy cons resting comfortably at my sides. I’m 6’3” and I never thought Joy cons were too small. Nintendo always has the best controllers. I know it’s not the most popular opinion amongst gamers but IMO joy cons loose at my sides are much better than classic gaming controllers where you have to hold both hands together in front of you.

Re: GameStop Apparently Investigating New York Store Over Sus Switch 2 Bundle Sales

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

@Anti-Matter GameStop often removes shrink wrap and uses the box for store display. Or keeps the boxes and game cartridges in separate drawers for some reason. So you often buy a new game that has been opened. Worst of all they put stickers on the box itself, so you have a permanent sticker or goo if you try to remove. And really you have no idea if the game is even unused. I get they need to use boxes for display only for theft purposes. But those box/games should be sold at a slight discount.

Re: Elden Ring Has Now Shipped Over 30 Million Copies Ahead Of Switch 2 Launch

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

Will wait to see how it makes the jump. Dark Souls Remastered kinda changed how I view video games, I thought it was REALLY good. Never one to spend much time on difficult games but took me forever to beat that dual boss (one a lion? One a big fat monster). I’ve never screamed joy so loud over beating a boss before. Great gaming moment for me.

Elden Ring is game j wanted most since I don’t have any PlayStation. AstroBot would be my second want.
