Re: Nvidia: Switch 2 Has "10x The Graphics Performance Of The Nintendo Switch"

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

I think we saw the FromSoftware exclusive because more companies are realizing that specs have just become too expensive to max out. The cost and time to develop games that max out PC/PS5 specs these days are insane. And most people can hardly tell the difference once you get past a certain point. The entire industry needs to examine how Nintendo has always dominated and been the best: by prioritizing GAMEPLAY over specs

Re: Nintendo Says Switch 2 Will Have "Improved" Wireless Connectivity

@Paddle1 same with my joy cons. I sit just a few feet away from console. If I recline so that my legs are kinda in between the joy con and console the connection drops out (ignores button inputs) all the time. I think it’s an issue with Bluetooth and living things. I think I read once that Bluetooth doesn’t go through water well and that’s what we are mostly made up of.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Switch 2 'Wows' Most When You Go Back To Your Old Switch

I prefer to play with loose joy con, and I am 6’2 so my hands aren’t small. I’ve always loved having my arms resting at my sides. I think it’s one of the best things about Switch.

Arms at side so my cat can sit in my lap without my hands together holding a classic style video game controller over top of him.

I’m a little worried about the joy con automatically going into mouse mode if you turn them? Hope you can turn that off

I just don’t think it would work well with two switches. Do you put the “upper” screen on your lap and hold the lower screen switch? Even if you used your tv as the upper screen it just doesn’t work as naturally as the DS/3DS. I don’t think anything but two screens physically above and below captures the DS/3DS magic. If you recall the WiiU hardy utilized the feature after NintendoLand

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (29th March)

Peper Mario Thousand Year Door for Switch. It’s a little bit too easy so far, and the first batch of side missions too “walk over there and talk to this character” and a few “walk WAY over there and talk to this character” - but otherwise it’s good. I actually loved Brothership but it was 20 hours too long, best turn based combat I think I’ve ever experienced for a RPG though. TYD combat not as snazzy or satisfying, but everything else seems better. I still can’t recall if I played the original TYD though. A few scenes or sections I’m like “yes I recall this” and I played lots of GameCube. But a lot I just don’t recall ever playing. I know I played Super Paper Mario because I recall the 2D/3D shift gimmick.

Re: Switch 2 Pre-Orders Expected To Sell Out "Day One" Due To Limited Unit Allocation

Galaxy2IsTheGOAT

My backlog for Switch 1 is so extensive I just don’t really care. I also like to hold off on any new hardware due to potential physical bugs or what not. I got my Switch late, in 2021. So I’ve always played games well after release. Rarely have I felt any FOMO at all or like anything was ever “spoiled” and I read this website daily and keep up with news and blogs and streamers all things Nintendo.

So do t worry if you can’t get it day 1! Just have a Switch 1 game or two that you can fall back on if you have to wait a bit.

@LikelySatan that would be awesome if Majora’s Mask was the biggest influence, as you said “creepy and surreal.” But as you also said, no chance! Just hope they do capture at least a tiny bit of the quirkiness that appears in some form in just about every game. Don’t take itself too seriously from start to finish if you will.

Kind of cart before horse but a trilogy obviously makes sense here for so many reasons. New Zealand seems ideal setting-wise. Are there any active volcanos though? Gotta have a Death Mountain.

I was pretty shocked learning they were doing this live-action, as protective as they are of IP. But if Miyamoto is advising I’m not too worried. And nothing about the movie can change how I feel about the games past or present.

There have been so many styles and types of Zelda games that they have plenty of freedom. I think we all expect something similar in look to the LOTR movies. But I wouldn’t mind being surprised in that regard.
