@Medic_alert 100%. It’s the worst 60 hour game I’ve finished, because I kept going ”Surely, they must wrap it up soon”, but they never do.

Dragging out the 5 first hours of the original to this extent, add some horrendous new characters and straight up worse story (with the Kingdom Hearts-esque twists) makes it so, so bad in my opinion.

I grew up with the original, and I think this art style (although well done) does the IP a disservice. The original looks much better, imo.

I saw someone say this seems like a reason for Samus as DLC in Mario Kart World, and I could 100% believe execs would force a call like that.

Hopefully Metroid fans get what they’ve been waiting for, though I never liked the Prime series myself.

Dragon Quest 1+2, Dragon Quest 7, Fire Emblem, Persona 3, Hyrule Warriors are all easy buys.

Might go for RE7 and 8 as well, even though I've played them — but likely when on sale. Same with Disgaea 7.

I'll likely end up buying MP4 as well, but doubt I'll like it since I think that the constant scanning, backtracking and combat in the Prime series is straight up dogwater.

@The_Nintendo_Pedant Well, social media is a thing nowadays as opposed to back then, and Xbox One (can’t share physical games, TV, TV, Sports), PS3 (price point, no games), Wii U.

Switch 2 negativity is a nothing-burger in comparison.

Dragon Quest XI S continues. I’ve just unlocked the entire party and the first story quest after reaching the wide open sea. Not without spending a non-trivial session in the casino.

And a bunny girl costume. Who can say no to that?

People who say ”Very poor” seemingly never got a system around launch before.

The English dub being bad doesn’t surprise me. Anime aesthetics do not go well with h English dubs, imo.

Even Metaphor, which is my favorite game and has everyone sing the praises of the dub, feels off.

@OrtadragoonX Oh, absolutely. The opening I adored. It was great. Around chapter 9 I had completely checked out though, as Aeris annoyed me greatly and her section just kept going.

Years later I went ”Why did I put it down again? Can’t be too much left!” and I picked it up again. Man was I wrong! Little did I know, I hadn’t even hit the halfway mark.

The changes to the story, the new characters and the gameplay didn’t ever click with me — but I pressed on.

I’m happy for the ones who dig it, but damn. 😅

What we got was painful. It just refuses to end. It's impressive how much they managed to pad the opening few hours of the original.

At that price tag, for the niche audience that wants 3D? And what the hell is that controller? Lol.

Maybe they didn’t want to double up awards, but I can’t say I agree. MKW is way more fun to play.

Same with Split Fiction, Dynasty Warriors Origins, hell — Kingdom Come 2 as well.

Oh lord. I’d be surprised if this isn’t canceled after season two, since the show was a two season deal and season one being so bad.

As with Castlevania (which went off a cliff after the second season), they’re unable two write other characters than ”snarky and quippy, with some f-bombs in there”.

This is the only MMO I occasionally pick up, mainly because the multiplayer aspect can almost be ignored and there’s still plenty of fun to have.

I’d love to like mech games. Presentation-wise I love them, but then I struggle.

Zone of the Enders 2 I adored though.

This looks rough. The running animation is particularly eye grabbing, with how the player character seemingly moonwalks everywhere.

The combat looks pretty damn dull and lackluster for being the core gameplay feature. I gave Arceus a pass as the first real time attempt, but they should have resources to provide more polished experiences.

@VoidofLight Sure, just given the history of Pokémon being either void of change, or pretty bad (Scarlet and Violet were pretty atrocious, imo) along with demos that make people go ”I don’t know if this is good or bad” raises some yellow flags.

Hopefully this turns out great, but I’m definitely not there day one.

I’ve been with Pokémon since Red and Blue, it’s time for something fresh and daring, imo.

When the demo, which is what they choose to show to hook an impressive folks, makes everyone seem to go ”Can’t say if it’s good”… yeah, might sit this one out.

When I was a wee lad, my brother and I got Bubsy for the SNES and loved that *****.

I'm pretty sure I'll let it live on as a fond memory, rather than figuring out if it's even playable in 2025.

@shred5 I’m not too bothered yet. If it hadn’t been for Mario Kart World and Rune Factory (I assume it barely runs on Switch 1), I don’t think anything would’ve been interesting to me yet. The Zelda upgrades are substantial, but yeah — it’s hard to say what’ll come. However, it is still very early.

Apart from Breath of the Wild, I don’t think OG Switch has anything for quite some time either.

And it’ll be a hot minute before OG Switch support is dropped, due to the sheer volume of them.

Nothing in there for me. Imma just keep chipping at the backlog.

Now, I'm not big on 3D platformers — but this was a good game.
