I’m a Visual Novel Enjoyer, but let’s be real — this will not take in any awards. As good as it is, and as much as games media raves about it, there is just too much reading for it to even contend.
We’ve already had Kingdom Come 2, Split Fiction, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Clair Obscur. Around the horizon we have Mario Kart World, Death Stranding 2, Metroid Prime 4… Hundred Line is good, but it’s very much a Danganronpa-esque game with a heavy emphasis on dialogue (that will be dated in a couple of years).
It deserves to do well, in my opinion, but it sits pretty low on the listing best games this year.
I remember when a friend sold me on Shenmue many moons ago, back on the OG Xbox.
Even then it was borderline unplayable and the dub was some of the unintentionally funny stuff I’ve heard in my life.
The kid going ”Mah mum tol’ me… I’m not allow… ed… to go to the… Beverly… Hills… Wharf?”, clearly reading lines out loud from a paper, lives rent free in my head.
As much as I want to delve into Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, continue Hundred Line, continue my unification of Japan in Nobunaga’s Ambition, wrap up Dynasty Warriors Origins and Black Myth — Stellar Blade has my full attention now that I’ve wrapped Ghost of Tsushima.
Knowing how I’ll spend June, July and August with Switch 2 wrapping up Stellar Blade (which is SO GOOD) before June 5th is a good goal.
Mario Kart is a given, but after that I’m stoked for Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, re-visiting Kirby, Puyo Puyo and Yakuza 0. Naturally I want to check out BotW and TotK as well, just to experience the upgrade.
So a fair amount of my most anticipated sits in the ”Nah” category.
I like this option. If this opens up for Total War etc. on Switch, I'll gladly take it.
I don't think it's groundbreaking and got a slight fear of Nintendo pushing the gimmick where it's not necessary (e.g., Mario Party showcase doesn't look like games that are necessarily better with a mouse), but more options are welcome.
Yes, prices will go up and it's surprising they didn't get to this point during the pandemic.
People who buy at this price thinks that's an acceptable price of admission, otherwise... don't? Calling people morons etc. for spending more money than oneself would is ridiculous. The tone in that thread is so entitled.
Inflation is a thing and games are a luxury hobby, and it's fine to indulge in it from time to time. Either that or stick to your backlog, sales and F2P titles.

Re: Switch 2 Accessory Maker Unveils Pro Controller Case With Built-In Charging
”Obvious heat issues”… lol.
The PS5 Edge and the Xbox Elite controllers charge just fine in their respective case. The controllers do not overheat. 😂
Re: A24 Bringing Elden Ring To The Big Screen With Ex Machina Director
This seems like such an obvious cash grab and I can't help but being cynical about this.

Re: Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma Lets You Hop Between Timelines To Date Multiple Characters
This feature sounds like a fantastic anime plot, that takes an unfortunate turn when he starts to mix up who he’s dating in which timeline.

Re: Nintendo Store Outlines Switch 2 Launch Events For New York And San Francisco
Two stores with events and a first come, first serve basis?
People will get trampled to death.
Re: Random: Sephiroth's Sword Can Grow And Shrink To Fit The Story In Final Fantasy
Grower, not a shower, eh?
Re: First Impressions: We've Played Three SEGA Games On Switch 2
I’ll buy all three. Never got Puyo Puyo 2S on OG Switch.
Re: Yakuza 0? It Can't Be! Check Out David Hayter In Sega's Switch 2 Launch Title
I love Hayter. He's the pinnacle of 2000's voice acting.
But man... this is rough.

Re: Guilty Gear Strive Adds Another DLC Character To The Roster Later This Month
I love GGST, but with the anime being so unbearably bad Unika is almost less interesting than guest characters.
And I really don’t like guest characters.
Re: Full Game List Revealed For Atari's Upcoming Bubsy Collection
Bundt on the SNES was my childhood. I held it in higher regard than both Mario and Sonic.
Not Yoshi’s Island though. I had some sense.
Re: SEGA Announces English Voiceover Cast For Yakuza 0: Director's Cut
I’ll definitely stick to Japanese.

Counting backwards compatibility? Absolutely.
