Re: Opinion: Not Enough People Are Talking About This Early GOTY Contender

I’m a Visual Novel Enjoyer, but let’s be real — this will not take in any awards. As good as it is, and as much as games media raves about it, there is just too much reading for it to even contend.

We’ve already had Kingdom Come 2, Split Fiction, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Clair Obscur. Around the horizon we have Mario Kart World, Death Stranding 2, Metroid Prime 4… Hundred Line is good, but it’s very much a Danganronpa-esque game with a heavy emphasis on dialogue (that will be dated in a couple of years).

It deserves to do well, in my opinion, but it sits pretty low on the listing best games this year.

Re: Shenmue III On Switch 2? Publisher's Latest Tease Suggests It Might Be Happening

I remember when a friend sold me on Shenmue many moons ago, back on the OG Xbox.

Even then it was borderline unplayable and the dub was some of the unintentionally funny stuff I’ve heard in my life.

The kid going ”Mah mum tol’ me… I’m not allow… ed… to go to the… Beverly… Hills… Wharf?”, clearly reading lines out loud from a paper, lives rent free in my head.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (10th May)

As much as I want to delve into Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, continue Hundred Line, continue my unification of Japan in Nobunaga’s Ambition, wrap up Dynasty Warriors Origins and Black Myth — Stellar Blade has my full attention now that I’ve wrapped Ghost of Tsushima.

Knowing how I’ll spend June, July and August with Switch 2 wrapping up Stellar Blade (which is SO GOOD) before June 5th is a good goal.

Re: Opinion: Oh No, I'm Not A Fan Of Switch 2's Mouse Mode At All

I like this option. If this opens up for Total War etc. on Switch, I'll gladly take it.

I don't think it's groundbreaking and got a slight fear of Nintendo pushing the gimmick where it's not necessary (e.g., Mario Party showcase doesn't look like games that are necessarily better with a mouse), but more options are welcome.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Holy hyperbole, Batman!

Yes, prices will go up and it's surprising they didn't get to this point during the pandemic.

People who buy at this price thinks that's an acceptable price of admission, otherwise... don't? Calling people morons etc. for spending more money than oneself would is ridiculous. The tone in that thread is so entitled.

Inflation is a thing and games are a luxury hobby, and it's fine to indulge in it from time to time. Either that or stick to your backlog, sales and F2P titles.
