Yeah, a shame. Square-Enix just spewed out the remake announcement of the first three games without knowing if demand and fanfare was enough to warrant it.
Looked for the quickest, cheapest and easiest way to get it done so they can wash their hands and move on.
@nhSnork
Terrible as in just plain bad. The original 3DS games already looked and felt like a generation behind. These are not remakes but just "enhanced" versions. If you take a look at the official screenshots, 99% of comments are negative, pretty much saying it looks like minecraft on N64 hardware, and practically no new content.
Story of Seasons aren't that great themselves with little innovation and recent trend of just remaking old titles, but at least they truly are remade from the ground up with added new features and content the originals never had. Even with the lack of innovation, it's pretty much a guarantee that you'll get a quality product.
@Magician Me too. Though most on my wishlist are games from Hamster, with one game having been on the list for four years and not once getting a sale. 😋
Oh, wow. I haven't been up-to-date with the Melee side of Smash Bros for a while, but this is a big deal.
To the uninitiated, Mang0 IS a huge name in Smash Melee, literally one of the "5 Melee Gods" during the highest point of that game's competitive scene.
He's still an amazing player to this day, but he does get into trouble here and there. Given Mario Kart's family-friendly image, he should've put more restraint on himself.
@Raifteiri I'm talking about Sony themselves or at least the Japanese side of their game development. Astrobot shows how creative and just plain fun they can be when given the chance.
Great for certain types of gamers and content creators, but unnecessary if you just play offline and/or by yourself, especially with single-player titles.
Sony, if you want people to like you better, then act like a Japanese company and make Japanese-centric games. The type of games that Western developers can almost never replicate. Instead of chasing what's big in that part of the world, and failing to understand what made those games successful.
I was expecting more modest numbers, but that's great news. After the Wii U, Switch did a lot of work to sway US players back to Nintendo. This shows how effective and successful Switch 1 was to keep the hype and excitement for Switch 2.
Been following this game for some time. Never expected it to be available on Switch.
Been delayed twice, but I finally got to pre-order it cause I found the concept funny, and I just love games that introduces so many weird and interesting characters and getting to know them.
My original worries of the game from the trailers was that it was just Fantasy Life 3DS but took bits and pieces of ideas from other games, and it'll become a jumbled mess of half-baked mechanics.
I was right, but they took bits and pieces of ideas and elevated them to become better than the original.
A good and rare example of a game that tried to be everything and pretty much succeeding in all aspects.
Saw the reviews and heard so many good things about it. The many and long delays were pretty much worth it. It helps that knowing ass-hat Keji Inafune left was a super bonus.
Watched a youtube analysis video of a visual novel game called Raging Loop. It intrigued me enough to stop watching before it got to the deeper end of the story, then play it for myself.
So far, it is an engrossing story with very realistic characters. Absolutely not deserving the 5/10 that NintendoLife gave.
Plus, it's like 80% off, making it worth it even more.
But I'm gonna wait to make sure performance and visuals are up to standards.
Got burned by an awful mess of a game earlier in the year when the footage they used for the Switch release was PC footage, and they did it purposefully to hide that it was a buggy, unoptimized experience.
@Debo626 @BenAV I get what you guys are saying. I DO prefer Monolithsoft to keep doing their thing, but Gamefreak really has no reason to improve unless someone with actual skill and talent shows them up.
Monolithsoft will surely make a ton of money off it and further enhance their fame and standing, perhaps giving them higher budgets, creative freedom and more opportunities.

Lite enough?
Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd July (North America)
I'm hooked on Civilization VI Anthology right now, after the huge summer sale.
It's so good. Didn't even notice it was past 1 am.

Cute things + the Japanese. Was there any other outcome.

Re: Harvest Moon's New "Cozy" Bundle Slightly Delayed For Switch
But... they're both terrible, as with all Harvest Moon games after 2013.
The Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar remake looks far more interesting.
Re: Taito Brings More Bubble Bobble Action To Nintendo Switch In 2025
Yeah... everyone saw it during Arc System Works' very underwhelming presentation.

Re: Video: We Put The Switch 2's Battery Through Its Paces With A Full Timelapse
It could be better. A later hardware revision could improve it, but decent enough for now, given the potential first party titles in the future.

Re: Disgaea 7 Complete Is Launching Exclusively On Switch 2 In The West
One more good reason to buy a Switch 2.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Crushes PS2 To Become Fastest-Selling Console Ever
Like it would be anything else. Nintendo's appeal to it's local market is near unmatched.
Even with Switch 2's release, the Switch 1 family still sold more than sixteen thousand units, weird but still impressive.
Re: Review: Date Everything! (Switch) - Stellar Final Fantasy & Persona Voice Cast Deliver A Bonkers But Buggy Sim

Yes, but the closer you get, the more buggy the game becomes. At the very end when you finally kiss, it bricks the system.

Another unoptimised technical dud. Was looking forward for a fun, quirky time.

I disagree. The English dub isn't surprisingly poor, it is unsurprisingly exactly what people expected them to be.
Play with Japanese voices, kids. They sound way cooler and way more badass.

Still kinda want to play this, but the many long delays kinda hurt the hype and excitement.
It'll entirely depend on how good the overall reviews are.
