One of my favorite memories of the game is when an NPC asks me to find an item they dropped in the vast wilderness. It was still fairly early in the game and I assumed it was a quick, easy mission. I track the item location and realize to my horror that it is in front of a pack of sleeping monsters that are 20 levels higher than me.
I did the ol' grab and dash and prayed they targeted my team mates rather than me.
Phil Spencer: We are proud to announce the development of a brand new game in the Banjo-Kazooie series for the Nintendo Switch 2! Oh... I guess it'll be on the Xbox as well... maybe...
Wow, did not expect Civ 7 to have that big a percentage on Switch. The devs were surprised at how well Civ 6 sold on Switch and made sure that Civ 7 would be on the system as well.
Will definitely make plenty of people happy. Switch missed out on many Marvel and DC games, like Midnight Suns being announced for the system then canceled later on, due to hardware limitations.
It's pretty much the only thing they can do at this point. Knowing these Western triple A developers, they'll find a way to mess it all up for the dumbest of reasons.
@Vyacheslav333 I'm glad someone else said it in a less nicer way.
The lack of a beta during development closed any chance for any constructive feedback. Leading many to simply criticize the game from only released gameplay videos, which the developer dismissed as people being hateful. Adding or lessening was that almost no FGC influencer or FGC personality gave no mention to the game leading up to the release, and when it did release, none of them bothered to review it.
@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy It's a very fine example of a PS2 action game. Back then the structure of the game is heavily compared to Legend of Zelda, especially since when Okami came out, Twilight Princess was the latest Zelda game where Link can transform into a wolf. Expect "dungeons", getting items or abilities to progress further, large bosses and plenty other side quests.
Good story that expands into something grander. A very Japanese setting with memorable characters. Tight gameplay with some parts of the game changing things up here and there. Amaterasu is cool as heck.
Course, there are a couple or so things that people may not like. If you already don't like the art style then don't bother. Camera control can be a bit stiff and difficult to look around. Certain parts of the story or a quest can be difficult to understand, leading to confusion on what to do or where to go next.

@Lord
There is actually a difference between The Japanese and Western Wii versions. The Western version uses Wiimote waggle to attack, but in the Japanese version the attack is the A button.
It's hardly mentioned or talked about. I only found out about it cause I was living in Japan at the time. Myself and an online friend who lived in the US were both playing our respective versions then we would talk about our experiences with the game. That version difference became known to both of us.
So, the Japanese Wii version is actually more faithful to the original.
Switch version is about to reach 1 million units sold in Japan alone.
It's almost as though you don't need live-service mechanics, 10-year development periods and 100 million dollar budgets to make a product that people will enjoy and gladly pay for.
Wait, what!? Pocket Bravery is releasing on March 20th?
I've been following that game since 2022. It already released on PC in 2023. Though a console release was promised, they have not announced a release date yet from any of their official accounts.
Very unfortunate news from a studio that made two very solid games.
I think the problem was that both games are so vastly different from each other, that a fan of one game could not jump over to the other. Creating a fragmented fanbase that only liked one game.
@WheresWaveRace They have the firm belief that the bigger and the more money they spend on a game, it'll return their investment by ten-fold. That and their ceaseless ambition to make their games live-service and expecting it'll generate enormous monthly revenue. To them, smaller games aren't worth it because what profit they will get is too miniscule for their liking.
@fenlix
They did fund Psychonauts 2, but then also released it simultaneously on Playstation and PC because they knew better than to make it an Xbox exclusive.
Ori was an entirely new game and critically-lauded game that garnered it much attention to the indie scene and the general audience for Xbox.
Banjo is an old series, that many Xbox users never got to experience because of the N64 roots. A collect-a-thon platformer that some now consider an out-of-date genre. Even Rare Replay had little to no impact on demand for a new game from the Xbox crowd.
The circumstances between all three games are different. Microsoft does have it's kidcentric/casual audience, but that doesn't mean Banjo is what they are after.
The problem is that the series is beloved by Nintendo fans, but is owned by Microsoft who have their own consoles with a fanbase that couldn't care less about Banjo. The series is stuck in a weird middle-ground with almost no options.
Given Microsoft and Nintendo being quite friendly with each other. The best hope for the series is for Microsoft to make a new title aimed specifically at Nintendo players. Or actually collab with Nintendo or Playtonic Games for a new Banjo game.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Introduces Thrilling Series First "Real Time" Battles
I am not thrilled at all that the entire game is set within the city. Despite being "wild areas", they still look like city walkways and back alleys.
Feels like it's an excuse to keep the game's scale small.

Pretty much those two things.
If you plan to play as a male character, the "boob slider" isn't even relevant.
Re: New Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Trailer Is Our Best Look Yet At The Upcoming Remaster
@TomSupreme
And the "boob slider" for the character customization that everyone is sick to the back teeth of pretending that it was ever a big deal.
Re: New Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Trailer Is Our Best Look Yet At The Upcoming Remaster
I just LOVE the better character customization options. I can't wait to be over-confident and get destroyed by an enemy five levels above me.

Switch sales not declining as much as I expected. With Switch 2 still being some time away, I guess it's not effecting people's purchasing decisions.
