I won't bother with any game-key cards. I'll probably just get any of those games digitally or on another system if cheaper there.

At that price I will stick with the adapter and wired original controllers.

I saw the 256gb ones went out of stock on Amazon the day after the direct. I'll wait for a bit as I can't see me using it all that quickly if I stick to physical.

More amiibo for me to buy that will gather dust. I just can't resist Zelda amiibos.

Xenoblade Chronicles X. Only 20 hours in and had it since release. I will be playing until Christmas at this rate. Dabbling with Assassin's Creed Odyssey as well. Two big games that will take me forever at 1 to 2 hours a day gaming time.

@Dunkin You could flip the Lynx upside down so it has an advantage over the Steamdeck.

I never assumed it would be. You are paying to upgrade the game only. They would never charge less for a Switch 2 version than Switch 1.

What happens if you press it accidently
and have a sub but no friends? Will it let you chat to randoms?

I got an order in with Argos yesterday and got the Nintendo invite today. I have until close of play to order a second unit but I don't know anyone else who wants one and I am not a scalper. I'll let someone in on the next wave.

I have 2 of these adapters and 3 of the Smash GC controllers that I have never used. I think I have a problem.

@Dragwhite Thanks. I was just going by the vague blurb on those hideous covers. I think for most of the Switch 2 editions I will stick to the Switch 1 cart and buy the upgrades. At least the cart can still be used on a regular Switch.

Are these Switch 2 carts with the upgrade on cart or Switch 1 games with a download code for the upgrade.

Gues they are looking for an exemption to keep the price down.

They have to sell at a discount to match digital or people will slowly transition. They can get away with RRP for now I think but not for the lifespan of the console.

The Switch 2 trailer was basically a trailer for the real announcement in a couple of days so it was a disappointment really.

I didn't vote this week. None of the designs really float my boat. I can usually find something that I like even with games that are not for me.

@Wisestfool Everyone is impatient and needs everything now. We live in a time where people pay extra to play a game 3 days before it's official release date. Hopefully Nintendo never jump on that trend.

It's like going to see your favourite band (Switch 2 direct) and having to tolerate a terrible support act (Switch 1 direct). The advantage for the main act is that it makes them evern more amazing...usually.

Mario Kart has so much content now. MK9 will have to do something really different to draw people in to buy the console to play this game.

I won't expect much other than remakes ans remasters outside of games we already know are coming to Switch.

Still waiting on this direct. At this rate it will be within 7 days of the Switch 2 direct. Maybe they are holding it until 1st April?

It won't get one if the world ends before then. WW1 got a 100th anniversary. Whether it is still big enough with the pensioners at that point is the big question.

Pre-Gamecube Nintendo packaging not so protective during a fire I reckon.

@Darkri74345 That 11 million is for the year up to the end of March this year. It will be even lower up until March 2026.

As long as they keep it on the market with a price cut for a while after the Switch 2 release I can see it crawling to 160 million. It would be a cheap option for parents with little kids and a large physical collection.

I had a dream the other night that the Miiverse was back for the Switch 2. It was so real I thought April 2nd had been and gone.

If I ever visit San Ramón in Costa Rica I will visit this supermarket so it's a little bit of advertising. Chances of me going there are slim to none as it is not on my list of places to visit but you never know ow.

I have a feeling this isn't getting a limited edition after the debacle for the XC3 limited edition that came without the game a while after release.

Here's hoping the lack of meaningful price cut on the Switch means it gas subsidised the cost ofvthe successor and we will get a reasonably priced Switch 2.

The logo is horrible. The 2 is just so bland. Maybe roman numerals sandwiched between the Joy-Con like icons would have been better?

@HotGoomba It's rumoured the Experience 2 will have quicker queue times and comfier seating.

@Ulysses It's a reference to an advert from 35+ years ago involving a red and a blue car.

Hopefully the Switch games will run better too. I guess we have until April to save up ready for a pre-order deposit soon after the Direct.
