Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Officially Revealed For Switch

@KingMike I mean, you can collect them all. The old school way.

(by purchasing two systems and two copies of the game of course; no game link cable required we live in the future)

But for real, for all we know it could be possible to bring Pokemon back from Home to these. Maybe? Gotta wait and see. Otherwise then welp, who needs a Golem right?

Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Officially Revealed For Switch

@Krlozgod it's honestly a bit complicated with any games that had GC-GBA connectivity features (not even just the Pokémon ones, any of them); these functions depended on the GBA on the other side of the connection being active and giving real-time responses.

So it's not like a simple "just put them on their own app"... Like, the simplest solution would involve having two switches so one could play the role of the GBA and that's probably not something they're interested in doing.

Re: Review: New Super Mario Bros. (Wii U eShop / DS)

Eel

@sportymariosonicmixx the site has a selection of screenshots for the game, the review picks a few at random every time you load the page.

To answer your question above, morpheel was my username back then when I posted that other comment, so they were replying to me.

Re: Nintendo Adds One Of The Most Divisive Zelda Entries To 'Nintendo Music'

@KingMike the only way I was able to beat the game was with the “cheat” on the Game & Watch Zelda Edition.

If you hold A when starting or reviving, you get maxed out life, lives, and all stats.

And even then it was super difficult! I did eventually map a quick route to return to the final boss, but only because I had to return so many times to it.

Zelda 1 by comparison is still a joy to play today without any cheap cheats.

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Gunning For The Switch 2 With A Handheld, Dockable PS6

@CasualTalkRadio the thing is that the switch is and always was a tablet. A tablet that currently fills in the main gap for “dedicated handheld gaming” space in the market.

Meanwhile the rest of the market, the part that doesn’t actually care if their device has dedicated A and B buttons, is pretty ok with gaming on their tablets and phones and don’t see a need to get another dedicated device for something like that.

Not to mention, playing a game on a normal tablet or phone doesn’t mean you must have a data plan or are forbidden from using regular physical controls.

Re: Fitness Boxing 2 To Be Removed From The eShop This November

Eel

@The_Nintendo_Pedant chances are they’d rather have you purchase the latest title instead

This is not really like a narrative driven franchise or anything, Fitness Boxing 3 has the same fundamental gameplay, but with improvements and a different soundtrack.

Re: Natsume's Next Harvest Moon Game Arrives On Switch This October

@Coffee-Waffle it’s a complex situation and nobody really has the full story, but as far as I know Marvelous became able to localize their titles on their own after acquiring XSeed, and so they started doing just that.

According to Natsume, Marvelous quite simply stopped doing business with them one day; making no attempt to acquire the Harvest Moon name or get any sort licensing deal.

(The HM name itself was always fully owned by Natsume since the very beginning, so it was in their best interest to keep the franchise active even without Marvelous)

@Coffee-Waffle Is it really so hard to believe the new Harvest Moon titles could also have fans that like them based on their own merits?

Story of Seasons is over a decade old now, it also has had plenty time to “make a name for itself”, so to speak.

Clearly both franchises are doing well enough.
