Voxel animal crossing competitor….?

Sounds a little… Overdone… which is weird because I don’t think I have ever seen a game exactly like that but it already sounds like a tired concept.

I never got around to playing this one, but I think I might get the complete edition once it comes out. Nice to hear it will have a discount.

@Joeynator3000 in the case of the Desert Palace, I think they meant visit it as in, what little is left of it.

@Daniel36 while I also like to believe LA and ALttP follow the same Link (the oracle games too), nothing in game really directly suggests or implies they do. It could truly be separate Links hundreds of years apart (except the oracle games as a pair, those absolutely follow each other).

ALBW is definitely out of the equation there though. Its similarities with ALttP are ironically what makes it impossible for both games to share a main character. Kinda like how this new one is obviously set in the same Hyrule as both, but it clearly can’t be directly connected to either.

The only big element that doesn’t quite match is Kakariko Village. It moved further west, and its original location has a whole bunch of nothing here.

I guess they simply didn’t want to have two big towns right next to each other, with the introduction of Castle Town… which resembles the original ALttP Kakariko more than the actual Kakariko itself (the new one is somewhat modeled after the OoT location, with the windmills, a prominent well, and a goron-infested volcano to the north)

Then in the Deku Scrub prison you go after the person who incarcerated you, and they go like “oh you want your stuff back? That’s fair, have a good time”.

Like, not only is the infrastructure deficient, the personnel is completely unfocused.

@Not_Soos perhaps the entire problem is simply the implication that he used the word “sex” in an interview?

They’d have to retranslate the entire quote, because simply changing “sex education” to “puritan” only confuses me more.

@Ryu_Niiyama I suppose removing the touch element simplifies the upgrade. It’d be odd to have a switch without a touchscreen, but maybe other people won’t miss it?

@Poodlestargenerica duplicate save files? Isn’t that basically what the online backups do?

I don’t mind the original screen at all. I would be interested in a bigger battery though.

@Ryu_Niiyama yes all switch models come with touch screens by default.

@Ryu_Niiyama it’s usually the best place to get games here in particular, since I kind of live in the middle of nowhere.

I might end up finding it at a retail store elsewhere next time I go on vacation. But if it’s not meant to be, then I’ll take it as a sign to save for the next console.

@Ryu_Niiyama no matter how often I checked the Amazon page, I never actually saw it up for preorder or on stock, only reseller listings.

@DDFawfulGuy well in the case of Beldam, she kind of can’t do anything beyond get sad (it’s clear she’s hurt by her comments though). As for system text and tattle info, characters don’t usually react to those either.

I don’t know how the goomba conversation goes in Japanese, but in English she seems offended.

@Samalik the Dragon Ball art style is in this weird place, where all men are drawn so weirdly exaggerated, that most of the time they don’t register as sexy- even for people who prefer men.

@DDFawfulGuy about Vivian, I would consider how the ones identifying her as a boy are always other people (one of whom is Beldam and the other one likely heard it from Beldam). A far as I know, even in the original Japanese text she still insists on being treated and presenting herself as a girl.

@Ashley2024 I do agree that it feels a little strange to rename the options when most of these character designs are still very much easily and instantly identifiable as gender-conforming males and females.

It’s not like in splatoon and animal crossing where your character is basically a nonspecific doll to dress up.

@Gamepro500 people do most certainly wear clothes under armor in normal circumstances (or as normal of a circumstance where a medieval armor is needed!)

It’s a great addition, it’s odd it didn’t come with this from day 1. And they expect this to make a lot of people return to the app, since they’re running an event for returning players.

@JSC016 it’s definitely one of those games that you must be willing to mess around in to get the most enjoyment out of it.

It’s not some narrative masterpiece or a gameplay spotlight of any kind, but it just kinda wins you over with how unexpected it can be.

@Keegsy from the sound of it, it seems like it will not be narrative heavy or locked to the after-game, just side content with more things to do in the overworld.

I would expect it to require some level of progression in the story to access it though. You might as well just start the file to at least get out of the tutorial.

@RupeeClock that just kind of happens due to the way Pokemon go determines regions. For example, Tauros is meant to be exclusive to the United States, but there’s good strips of land in northern Mexico and southern Canada where you can find them.

In the case of Klefki, while it’s meant to be exclusive to France, since they used a regular square to define the area, the corners overlap with other countries.

@Vriess I guess the main difference is I don’t see it as a hassle.

The bundle with all the games is also on sale on the AppStore, and for some reason it’s allowing me to “complete” my bundle for a little over four bucks. I have two of the games on iOS already, so that’s the other four for about a buck each… Welp I don’t see why not just complete the set there.

Edit: I’m trying to see why would it be so cheap, but none of my math is mathing. Perhaps they made a mistake there…?
