Re: Japan's Switch Sales In June Were Reportedly A Record High For The Console

Diowine

Ok, Switch's successor won't be coming anytime soon apparently.
Don't know how much more can my 2017's console resist but happy that it has been so successful.
Still think that whenever the new system arrives, it will be coming with a great lineup of Mario 3d, Metroid Prime 4 and even the next Mario Kart (Loving the Booster DLC in the meantime) which are long due and waiting for a more powerful system.

Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch's Year 7 Compare To Previous Nintendo Consoles?

Diowine

After being on my ~125th-ish hour playing TOTK on my 2017 Switch, I am really feeling it's age now.
The last Direct promised nice games to close this generation.
But I am ready now for a new, hopefully hybrid too, Nintendo Console announcement, releasing with probably Metroid Prime 4 and a new 3D Mario and maybe even a Mario Kart and Super Smash in it's first year. Too much to ask for maybe

Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?

Diowine

Obviously TOTK is the only Nintendo GOTY candidate this year and most probably winning it. No PS exclusive so far this year is close, and don't expect Spidey winning. Maybe it will be a close battle with Starfield. Is one of those 3, one exclusive candidate per console. Nice

Re: Best Nintendo 64 Platformers - Every N64 3D Platformer, Ranked By You

Diowine

So many memories.

  • Loved Donkey Kong 64 a lot. Maybe because it was my first console game ever, but just loved it, specially the DK rap.
  • Never finished Banjo Kazooie honestly because I could never finish the trivia section at the end.. I was too young and didn't know any English and kept just guessing the answers incorrectly.
  • Oh Banjo Tooie, I never bought it but rented it like 7 times from Blockbuster. I always got frustrated when I went home to find another user had restarted the playthrough.
    Good ol' times

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Diowine

Amazing Direct, and I don't even know if I would be buying any of these. People will always cry because their obscure niche game is not being remade or got a sequel announced but this Direct had much more quality content than it should, considering the Console's age.

Re: Feature: Our Predictions For The June 2023 Nintendo Direct

Diowine

Super Mario Oddissey was announced around the release date of BOTW back in 2017. I think it is time for a new 3d Mario announcement. But... It is most likely going to be released along with the new console whenever it is announced... which I also think is going to be sooner rather than later at this point.
First time really feeling the age of my 2017 Nintendo Switch during all these TOTK gameplay hours.

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Diowine

Same here @Not_Soos. Have done a lot and could finish it any time but want first to complete all the shrines, get all the armor pieces, side quests and find all the lightroots. Will probably not find all the caves or upgrade all armor pieces before ending the game but will try to do the rest.
Of course getting all the Koroks, as in BOTW, is out of the equation

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

Diowine

@NintendoByNature because it was a new world. Exploring regions and discovering the map for the first time was a thing of BOTW only. Yes, TOTK is amazing, but that feeling you mention belongs to BOTW. Both the Depths, Sky Islands and even the Caves are great additions, but their landscape feels the same, no matter in what region you are; and the main Hyrule map with all its changes, is the same Hyrule with more things to do.
Next Zelda must have a new map and regions definitively

Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For June And July 2023

Diowine

TOTK Will keep me busy for a while and even after that I have a backlog bigger than ever before.
So personally I don't care about this yet, but Nintendo's upcoming lineup is weaker than ever. After years of rumors this is the first time that I do think it is finally time for the next console announcement, hope it is still an hybrid.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Has Surpassed 10 Million Sales In Three Days

Diowine

With all the hype and the internet going wild about TOTK, the only thing that still amazes me here is that unfinished broken games like Pokemen SV, which I also bought day one because nostalgia, are on the same level of Sales.
Imagine what a great Pokemon game would sell? Would be outselling GTAV over the first weekend probably

Re: Zelda: TOTK Is The Sixth Game Ever To Get Perfect Scores From Edge And Famitsu

Diowine

If I had never played BOTW, this would be a perfect 10/10 for me too. But BOTW exists for over half a decade now and, IN MY PERSONAL SUBJECTIVE OPINION, TOTK does not add that much to be considered a Perfect 10. Is it better than BOTW? Yes, but by today's standards it doesn't have the impact of the first game for me and takes out the best part of the original, exploring completely new regions for the very first time. Depths and Sky Islands get repetitive and the famous improved Dungeons are nowhere near the OoT era, they are the same as BOTW but with unique Bosses.
Still, loving every minute of the game, just not a 10 for me

Re: Zelda Devs Confirm The Return Of Fan-Favourite Feature In TOTK

Diowine

So.... This was a lie, or at least created false expectations.
I am loving the game, really, but the dungeons here are a big letdown. Not anywhere near the pre-BOTW era Temples yet. They are the same as BOTW but with more unique bosses.
Again loving the game , but so far the chasms are my least favorite sections, Sky Islands are fewer than expected and the rest is basically the same map as BOTW, which was great, but doesn't bring back the magic of exploring a region for the first time.
Still expecting to play this for weeks and enjoy every minute

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Diowine

@Slowdive well, you can't expect critics to weight both games evenly for review today. TOTK can be an improvement in every way, but maybe it's impact nowadays with open world games like Elden Ring around isn't as huge as BOTW was at that time.
F ex. I would prefer playing Skyward Sword today than Ocarina of time by today's standards probably. You could say it is an improvement, but Oot still deserves more praise because of what it did back then in N64 era.
So, of course I expect TOTK to be an improvement in every way, but was not expecting it to have higher scores

Re: Feature: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Gameplay Trailer - Every New Detail Revealed

Diowine

@LordBakemono yes as I stated after the latest trailer this game looks amazing. I was always on the first day buy train as stated before, but was afraid of a couple things. My biggest fear has always been that they keep using the same Hyrule map essentially, as exploration and discovering new areas was the best part of the first game for me and other than the islands and some changes to locations this could still be the same Hyrule most probably. Anyways, the game looks amazing as everyone expected.

Re: Bandai Namco Wants Your Feedback On Tales Of Symphonia Remastered

Diowine

I absolutely loved this game and still have in perfect condition running on my old Gamecube.
Now, if this was a true remaster like what Capcom did with Resident Evil 4, then of course I would have bought it. But not only does not add or improve anything, it just runs worse. What kind of feedback are they expecting?
