While there's no doubt that Kit and Krysta's story is true
There is quite literally no evidence to back their claim in the first place, its a conversation that only they have claimed ever happened, it specifically is negative and hyperboled to the extreme, contradicts previous claims about the topic (them claiming that Nintendo compared Nuzlocke to ROM hacks contradicts the typical system of not even acknowledging ROM hacking), and has been discredited by prominent members of the community with a bigger focus on the topic (Joe Merrick for example), and by the Pokémon company themselves (who acknowledge it as a fanmade challenge that requires nothing more to add/affect on their part). A nothing story made by former disgruntled employees who haven't captured similar fame outside of the company, blown out of proportion by Nintendo sites with nothing better to write about.
Glad to see that they spent 2 years advertising the the Ares series, as well as outright stating this entry would be based on that canon, only to now abandon the series entirely. Era with a huge amount of potential, wasted because they spent 4 years too long developing a game (that was originally due for release in 2018).
This maintenance has been on for weeks already (around the start of July), and this information has been reported multiple times by other sites (and even told directly to ye in your comment sections), this is extremely late reporting on it
This was one I picked out when Xbox showed it off at their press conference a few years back (same one that announced 12 Minutes, if memory serves), and thought it would've been perfect for Switch. Glad to see I predicted the future on that one.
Funnily enough, I bought my Shulk amiibo primarily for Xenoblade 2, not knowing that it wouldn’t have functionality with that title. 5 years later it finally gets a use in a Xenoblade title. Presumably the Pyra/Mythra amiibo will also have similar functionality when they release
@Andy77mk actually, I meant the exact opposite. Of all the MH amiibo, Malzeno was the only one I could get at the time (Sunbreak ones were OOS, and I don't believe the Rise or Stories ones went back into stock at the same time).
Anyone considering Bum-bo based on the BoI might want to consider the issues with the title.
Bum-bo is a fun title, but the development of the game was famously drawn out and the finished product was rushed. Releasing in a buggy state, the first month was spent fixing the game into an playable state, before ideas of a mini-DLC (inputting missing endings, adding new items) were mentioned for Christmas time.
It took over a year.
The final update for Bum-bo released early March 2021, with less content than was detailed for the mini DLC (less bosses, less new items, only a single new character) and the ending was updated to now link into Repentence. The only solace that could be taken was that it was offered for free (when the original talk was to release it for a small fee).
Bum-bo was rushed on PC, and these ports look somehow more rushed than that (rather than implementing actual controller support, just making it a mouse pointer and clicker). I'd recommend holding off for a while. This title needs an update to fix the obvious issues, and maybe the minor support it will inevitably receive from the Isaac community will make it so they actually fix their game on console.
Your "source" literally just told you she wasn't told by anyone who would know the information ("It's not technically a leak because Nintendo didn't tell me, which is how I make that call."). You are literally pushing false news that inherently tells you the fact it's made up.
@SteamEngenius mostly because it launched on PC before getting ported to mobile. The same reason no one calls Slay the Spire or Stardew Valley mobile games.
@UltimateOtaku91 I'd say you've answered your own question there. I imagine Splatoon 3 suffered some unannounced internal delay, with it due to release when XB3 is now releasing (which would've been just over 5 years since 2 came out). They simply swapped the dates.
As an Irish user, it doesn't really matter to me, as my country will almost certainly refuse classification for it, like the original. I'll be going on the US eShop for it when I do.
Can I ask what the point of this article is with regards to its relevance to Nintendo? Monkey Island has had 2 entries on Nintendo consoles in the last 25 years (one being a TellTale spin-off), with no new entries or rereleases being proposed since the WiiWare days. The latest title isn't even confirmed for anything outside PC at this point.
This is being exaggerated in its impact. The majority of the games listed as unreleased are third-party titles that either have been released by their owners in a collection (Pac-Man in Namco Museum, Castlevania in the Anniversary Collection, Mega Man in the Legacy Collection) and would probably not want them in a $2-a-month app with little residuals when they can sell them for more. With Tetris, Nintendo already offer Tetris 99 as a title, and would probably prefer attention on that.
@Olliemar28 that's a very poor explanation. You can pretty much use that for any item as an excuse, it doesn't really make it valid in context. The quality of the scarf is more akin to the ones sold by people outside stadiums for significantly less than £50, the ones you're claiming are "almost as expensive" are luxury items (either made with high-quality material, or brand-name products).
I think the easiest way to decipher the legitimacy of a story is to ask this simple question: does it originate from a Reddit community known for its... let's say leniency with regards to the legitimacy of its submissions?
@darkswabber and, despite that, the "inside sources" information are just exactly what was logic'd out when the announcement was made. Them saying this isn't confirmation in the slighest, in fact it looks more like they came into the comment section of the NL article and ripped the theories from there.
@Yanina I wouldn’t be giving them any credit then, considering they abruptedly cancelled this title, as well as release and leave PoE 1 in an unfinished mess.
@Night-X There’s nothing wrong with it at this moment, though. We just finished the Manaphy event last week, now a new one started. Isn’t that exactly what you were describing?
> “ this 'mon is new to these games, though if you pay attention to such things it was leaked / spotted by dataminers in recent times.”
Absolutely none of that is true.
1. Shay min was released in Gen 4 2. The event was present in the original (albeit unimplemented) 3. Dataminers revealing that content previous in the original is also in the remake isn’t exactly an achievement
@HenHiro people were saying the exact same thing about Arceus in its initial trailer, and the end result was a pretty well-done (if a tad underwhelming compared to others in the genre) project with a consistent framerate. The only one we can accurately call out for doing a rush job is you and your criticism.
@Citano I'd say, at the very best, the announcement would be Hisuian Pokémon will be transferable from HOME to SwSh (simultaneously announcing the compatibility of HOME with the recently-released titles), with it being more likely to be some Wi-Fi distribution and a reminder that the Shiny Galarian birds are available if you participate in the upcoming online events.

Your entire basis is a confused tweet that seems to be both the source and the inspiration for the article. The only actual restriction is Handheld Mode, which is consistent across the models.
All this game does for me is remind me that PlatniumGames still haven't released any Kickstarter DLC for Wonderful 101, despite it now being 2 years since the release.
@Gwynbleidd it was announced in a Direct, either you haven't been following the news for a game you were interested in or you've been hoping for a full remaster of a game for the last 30 years.
Appreciate the article (I'm fairly certain I own most of these already), but seriously with the constant spam of your own store on the page? It's nearly happening every single game mention, it's completely unwarranted and it's honestly turning me off from future articles with game recommendations if all they're going to be is "This is a game we like, and if you buy from our store you can play it too"
@Noid calling it "one of the best platform fighters ever" is a fair comment, but considering the amount its completely dropped off (judging from SteamDB, only 65 players are online for PC, with viewer figures on Twitch nearing single digits), saying that is a little exaggerative. Also, I'd say that the fact the game was clearly a rush job (lazy Character Selection screen, no voice acting, generic sound effects) and the fact that coverage of the game by the Smash community stopped soon after its release (anyone paid to promote it said their copy-pasted "this game is so good" script then left the game, the other top Smash players just went back to their previously-scheduled entertainment) were just as big contributors as the high price.
The DLCs seem to be more like things other developers put in their game for free, not really charge for it.
Shame that one of the 3 DLCs is only for PC (mod support), and even then most indies on Steam offer mod support for free (Binding of Isaac Repentence being one of the better examples).
Personally, I hope that DLC is just some name for bigger updates (like how Dead Cells does) against being actual paid content. I thought the base game was fun but not that justifying the €20 price tag.
@Browny I bought my used copy of HG a few years back. €18, but no box and a torn label. Bought it because my copy broke and I had all the missing components.
What brings it up is the fact I was in that same shop a few weeks ago, and they had a copy of SS in a similar condition (no box, scuffed label) for €55.
@RupeeClock Shelter (and its sequel) both cover a similar concept too; a mother lynx has to help their babies grow up in the wild, teaching them to hunt prey and avoid predators. I'd be interested to see how Endling differs from Shelter, but to me it looks like retracing the same steps (with the only real difference being the human interaction).
NintendoLife, what is up with the constant negativity of the Switch Online, with regards to this method of rollout?
Complaining about how the release is being handled with 64 Oline goes against the exact same argument ye made against the previous iterations; the services weren't being updated consistently enough. A slower drip-feed is exactly the kind of solution discussed (less games but more often) and we're hitting the point of retro gaming where the length of games are increasing to the point that the lack of new ones has a lessening impact than previous (I'm fairly certain you can beat the majority of the SNES Online library in the time it'll take a casual player to finish Paper Mario). On top of this, the quality of the titles yet to be released (even limiting ourselves to the non-leaked titles) is still overall higher than any previous service after launch (Banjo-Kazooie and Majora's Mask are definitely higher quality than Jelly Boy and Bombuzzal).
I'm all for legitimate criticism of the service ye make, but this article literally argues against the major points ye complained about earlier that have been addressed.
@thiz or for people who won't/can't download the day-one update on release, who make it to the end of the game? It's certainly more a "just in case" statement.
@brendathecat Smash Bros. Ultimate was sold at the standard price for a AAA release. It has sold over 23 million copies, not even counting the amount of DLC bought for it. Smash Ultimate also became the best-selling fighting game title of all time during the first 6 months of its release. I'm fairly certain Nintendo are just fine with its performance at the price it was launched at. Besides, by your recommendation, dropping the game by (for example) $10 would mean the game would have had to sell another 6 million copies to be at the same amount of money earned. People bought Smash because they wanted to buy Smash, not because of it's price point. I doubt an extra 6 million customers would have bought it solely for the price. Besides, the game has received multiple discounts from retailers regardless of the base price, which would have attracted those people regardless.
I would agree the amount of content is eye-watering, because that isn't actually a bad thing. In fact, that's what considered a "good thing". There's a significant amount of content in the base game already, without ever having to pay for DLC:
Every Smash character from every previous game, and some long-requested newcomers
103 stages, most graphically remastered to bring them up in quality, some demastered to match the look of their original games, and (surprisingly) only 3 new stages.
Sprits Mode, a way to represent the multiple series that Smash Bros. ties into with its roster, giving those same series themed battles using the Smash roster characters
World of Light, a storymode-like that attempts to tie-in the Spirits Mode to an actual in-universe event.
Stage Builder, added after launch, to allow for user-made stages and other experiments.
Solo Mode, now rebalanced to be unique for each fighter in the game, with either references to a previous adventure or a series of themed battles based on the character's history (e.g. Dark Pit)
The price for the additional content isn't that unreasonable for a fighting game at all. $5 per character isn't unreasonable; most fighting games charge the same amount per character, and offer less than Smash at that value (Tekken charges $6 per character, and DLC stages are separate. In fact, even the indie title Rivals of Aether required $4 for it's DLC, which only included an extra stage), whereas a Smash DLC offered:
Character
Stage
Music
Solo Mode for new character
Spirits Battles based on other characters from the DLC's series'
I don't really think it's far to call the game lacking content, or the DLC not value for its money.
Honestly, I'm happier with the Smyths pre-order bonus in the UK (Steelbook and an Arceus figurine that matches the Dialga/Palkia ones from the Gen 4 remakes).
However, on reading back my comment, it conveyed a tone I regret. I would like to apologise for calling you "unfunny", which was not how I wanted for my comment to come across, as that is not my opinion as a whole. In fact, I find the Back Page tags to be some of my more favourite articles (although I will never be happy with the fact te Crab Rave skin from SMITE didn't make the Top 10 Crabs), and in my comment I imply it as a total of you instead of specifically describing this article (and the AFD). My sincerest apologies for the offence caused by me to you.
@SonOfVon sort of the trend with Kate Gray stories: not related to anything usually posted on the site, not funny, and usually a few days late to actually be relevant.
The one that always sticks out to me was her April Fool's prank: making a fake announcement about a movie featuring a role similar to herself (female game journalist) was bad enough, then following it up a day later (ie after AFD) with the "script" that had all the markings of "I want to extend the joke and put in no effort to actually make it funny" made it worse. Not necessary to continue it, it was already dead on arrival.
As is the case with many indie games that target a PC release first, like Deltarune already has. That comment doesn't feel like a subheading, it feels like a whiny little comment.

Re: Back Page: The Video Game Characters That Snuck Into The 2021 Met Gala
@SonOfVon sort of the trend with Kate Gray stories: not related to anything usually posted on the site, not funny, and usually a few days late to actually be relevant.
The one that always sticks out to me was her April Fool's prank: making a fake announcement about a movie featuring a role similar to herself (female game journalist) was bad enough, then following it up a day later (ie after AFD) with the "script" that had all the markings of "I want to extend the joke and put in no effort to actually make it funny" made it worse. Not necessary to continue it, it was already dead on arrival.
Re: Undertale's 6th Anniversary Broadcast Locks In A Release Date For Deltarune Chapter 2
"Switch left in the dust".
As is the case with many indie games that target a PC release first, like Deltarune already has.
That comment doesn't feel like a subheading, it feels like a whiny little comment.

Are NL going to report on the latest false advertising for Sonic Colours: Ultimate? The latest trailer makes it out that the Switch port runs at 60fps.
