Fans of the Bullet Witch Bayonetta will have to wait for physical copies of the game's Switch release for just a bit longer in the UK and Europe. Nintendo has announced that the My Nintendo Store exclusive has been pushed back to "the first half of October".
The physical launch was originally due out today, and Nintendo UK (and its numerous European branches including Nintendo DE, España, and France) have confirmed that the boxed version has been pushed back.
So far, only the UK and Europe have been confirmed to be affected, but we'll update this if other regions also receive a delay.

A game from 2014 has been delayed? Go Nintendo! No really, just go
I’m based in the US, and Amazon delayed my order by a week. Now it’s supposed to arrive on October 4th.
I have a Play-Asia order of the JP physical pending dispatch, and that item is in stock. It has English language support.
Looks like that version hasn't been affected by delays.
At least it is coming or it would make the special edition of 3 seem silly with a cover for the first game that never released. What is with the My Nintendo store in UK? Do they not understand how to pre-order any more? Still waiting on Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition to go up for order.
Didn't know it was out today. Just means I can play Splatoon 3 instead
@Enigk
Same here. I check each day as I do not want to pay ebay prices after the fact.
I got a Japanese physical copy years ago with Bayonetta 2 and both games were fully in English.
It's a huge shame that they moved to My Nintendo Store exclusivity, that's always a gigantic disaster as perfectly shown by the XC3 special edition.
How is this a "My Nintendo Store Exclusive" if I have a copy on order from Base. com?
@GVIL I don't understand how they can't take pre-orders as surely they know how many copies they are making? I thought XC3 was going up shortly after the site came back up but obviously not. Now announcing the this the day of release is shocking. How did they not warn people sooner as clearly it would have needed to be in stock a few days ago for shipping in time?
Picked up my copy in Australia from EB Games today, so our regions fine.
"So far, only the UK and Europe have been confirmed to be affected"
The UK is in Europe.
@Bunkerneath Ah yes! Because somehow the manufacturing and distribution of this current physical version for Nintendo Switch correlates with the game already being out on a different platform.🙄
@RainbowGazelle Ssshhhh! Don't tell them that!🤫🫢
@LN78 I have the same issue. Perhaps Base are going to have to cancel our orders.
@RainbowGazelle the uk and EU. Better? Because UK is not in the Union, so it's not part of the EU. It's part of the continent, but not the european Union.
@gcunit Just had a look and it's still up for pre-order on their site. Very confusing.
I didn't even expect them to release it at this point, which is why I preordered it from japan.
Poor Job, NoE. Would have gladly ordered this from MNS if we had any prior notice...
Picked up my copy up from EB Games today here in Kingswood Country.
After 2 years of covid messing up the world I think we all understand these things happen. Well everyone except Nintendo or they wouldn't be waiting until the day of release to tell people their shipments have been delayed, this is something Nintendo should have known at minimum a week ago.
So the question is what does Nintendo do to make it right? If you are going to force people to buy something from your own store, then delay it 2 weeks, and not tell your customers until the day they are expecting to get it, well you should be offering them a $5 store credit or something. But that's a problem w/ monopolies, they can treat their customers like garbage b/c they're a monopoly. No such thing as good customer service anymore, just passing the blame.🤑
Well at least Google refunded people for Stadia, that's something I guess.🤷
@Oppyz666 there are also many countries that EU doesn't cover in that as well. Just saying "Europe" is the correct version.
Oh well I've played it to death many times now anyway so what a shame? and the U.K is no longer in Europe, it used to be but not anymore and we all know why.
Yeah, I'm still keeping my order for the japanese copy. Not going through the headache of dealing with their store exclusivity rubbish.
Best Buy says the copy I ordered arrives today. Whoo!
@Oppyz666 Yes, I know. Who said anything about the EU. I said it was in Europe, not the EU. So just "Europe" would have been fine for the article. It didn't need "UK + Europe".
Like other commenters, I too have a preorder with Base.com, that has been in place since June. Checking their site just now, the listing for Bayonetta is still there, but no price is displayed, and looking at the listing reveals the price, but it's unavailable for purchase. I'm guessing our preorders will be cancelled, but I guess it won't do any harm to wait and see, at least until the Nintendo Store listing is available. On a side note, I had preregistered for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector's Edition. I received an email from Nintendo a little while ago, informing me that it would soon be available to order, but then ... nothing. Did they all sell to bots or something?
Edit: I just received an email that Xenoblade 3 Collector's edition will be open for preorder in the first half of October.
I don’t like her or her face, im not buying that game, a new parasite eve would be cool
@Mr_Gamecube Happened here as well which I'm really bummed about, was gonna play through it for the first time this weekend lol
Well atleast something was finally said. What surprises me is that there is a delay when a date was never announced at all for europe.
Still if it is exclusive to the My Nintendo Store it would be nice if they did put it up for pre-order.
Well no surprise that UK copies get delayed yet US doesn't have to wait, should be disappointing for fans who want this, fortunately I have PS4 version so no loss there tbh
Ordered mine on Amazon canada and mine shipped out today..
@LN78 I don’t think that your pre order with Base will ever come to anything. It’s always had a release date of 31/12/22 on their site, which was nonsense. Now that the Nintendo store exclusivity has been announced, I’m sure it’ll be taken down from Base.
Something I don’t understand about this story is the expected release date of today. Nintendo never said it was being released today in the UK or anywhere else in Europe. They announced it in July with no release date and today is the only time it’s been mentioned since then.
It seems like this delay happening in the US too. Best Buy and Target has a one week delay for the game. ...so weird....what is happening?
Now I have to get this.
Glad I got the first bundle Japan version with physical 1 and 2.
Bayonetta Nonstop Climax Edition Switch (Japanese Edition)
This was the edition to get and it has EN support. But the prices they are listing for are like eye popping right now.
Didn’t even know this was coming… anyone know where I can get it?
@Enigk
I was thinking the same thing about the website. I missed out on the Bayonetta 3 set but I got my copy from very of all places.
It it's probably some general issue that hit them, just like with Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Well, it is now the Second half of October and it is no where in site. This is going to turn out just like the Xenoblade 3 CE again isn't it?
Nintendo's about as good with their Social Media as they are with their Support. JFC.
Well the Nintendo store now has a link for buying Bayonetta 1 physically, but with a line through it as in it’s already sold out? 🤔 🤦♂️
https://store.nintendo.co.uk/en/bayonetta-70010000006762
It was briefly available for like 5-10min yesterday. This was around 16:30 CEST. Was able to place an order. It shifted a few times from 0 order limit to available to sold out and back to 0 order limit. Now physical button is crossed out and no status can be seen. Checked a few minutes ago and no listing appered on ebay for now. I am wondering if i got my order by "mistake" or what was going on. Order status has changed to shipped in the meantime, but no e-mail came in.
