Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl was the big dual release for the franchise in the 2021 Holiday season, and today it got a welcome addition in the Pokémon Presents broadcast.
Later today you should receive Oak's Letter, a gift that'll be available for the next month. That letter will give you access to mythical Pokémon Shaymin; this 'mon is new to these games, though if you pay attention to such things it was leaked / spotted by dataminers in recent times.

Ugh, no word today on Pokemon Home implementation? I got bored of BD real quick and want to transfer my 'mon
Would be more interesting if I wouldn't have already caught a Shaymin in Legends Arceus
I understand why it's here (it's in line with the original Gen 4 games), but it's a bit awkward to put it mildly since I already got Shaymin in Legends thanks to having Shield. I've heard you can shiny hunt this one though so maybe I'll give it a go.
Cool, players have a single month to experience this Event we never got officially. And then if you ever want to do it again it's gone forever like the Manaphy Egg & Platinum Outfit. Great.

Not thrilled by it being a timed event but at least there doesn't seem to have any other requirements besides unlocking mystery gift

I'm going to assume you can obtain its Sky Forme via the Gracidia Flower. Not that bothered about its Hedgehog like appearance tbh but I love the Sky Forme. I remember in the movie Shaymin appeared in he was voiced by the same actor who voiced Tails in Sonic X.
@Fizza You can get Shaymin in Legends by having Shield? I did not know that.
@RubyCarbuncle I thought what you get was a shaymin kimono which I do have. Didn’t know about getting the pokemon too!

I'm confuse why they're taking their time to release these mystery gifts because I how remember it they would have few setup within the first 4 months giving everyone a time limit to buy more games in a short amount of time and why they're not doing that makes no sense?

Absolutely none of that is true.
1. Shay min was released in Gen 4
2. The event was present in the original (albeit unimplemented)
3. Dataminers revealing that content previous in the original is also in the remake isn’t exactly an achievement

@Night-X There’s nothing wrong with it at this moment, though. We just finished the Manaphy event last week, now a new one started. Isn’t that exactly what you were describing?

It looks cute but I prefer Fighting type Pokemon.
