I love that everyone is saying they wish that Nintendo would just announce it already, because the rumors and "leaks" have gotten old. Seems so ridiculous. It's not Nintendos fault all these losers on YouTube and twatter are trying to make a buck based off nothing
@Yosher personally, if I was in charge of Nintendo, I'd put off the announcement until everybody STHU about rumors and leaks about it.... but then again I'm incredibly petty 😂
@WrongChops snatches them up from who? The producers? Developers? They aren't all powerful. Be upset at the people selling them the rights if this is a real issue.
The only games I see them releasing are: 1. Games there was little chance would be released physically otherwise. 2. Games that have already been released digitally that aren't being released physically by anyone else. 3. Special editions of already physically released games.
This games helped me avoid social media. Got 5 minutes to kill? Great, I'll play this instead of Doom scrolling. It's perfect. Can't wait for more packs and trading
“largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation” - that is a crazy claim, especially from Microsoft. You're telling me you're going to impress me more than going from the SNES to the N64? Nonsense.
Also, Nintendo will be fine. Nobody beats them with handhelds. They'll figure it out.
@WhensDinner I've bought over 20 games from LRG, and I don't get the hate either. Yeah, they take a while, but they give you time to order, then they have to actually manufacture everything. They aren't a big publisher, it takes time. Prices are fine, almost always $40 for standard switch editions. I've only needed to talk to customer service once, when a game didn't show up. Sent another one that day, no issues.
@Milk_ logical fallacy. That's what everyone actually seems to forget about. The "argument" has been used for virtually every regulatory debate for the last century or more. Not only that, but it's a company doing this.... not a government agency.
"The slippery slope fallacy is an argument that claims an initial event or action will trigger a series of other events and lead to an extreme or undesirable outcome. The slippery slope fallacy anticipates this chain of events without offering any evidence to substantiate the claim."
@FRBA94 didn't excuse the mile. Simply pointing out that it's a logical fallacy. The argument that if they censor this, then they'll censor far more is ridiculous. There's probably less censorship now than ever.
@Samalik yes... clearly I'm the one whose pissed off and had their day ruined. Everything you just claimed is the definition of irony, and without any useful rhetoric. But I do hope companies stop censoring their products so you can enjoy more artistic expression.
@Samalik "give them an inch and they'll take a mile" is the same as the slippery slope logical fallacy. Terrible argument. There has never been a time in history where almost anyone at any given point can see whatever they want... who cares if a company tries to cover their a$$. They censured themselves.
@russell-marlow played them all, as they came out too. Snarky and teenage themed is pretty spot on. Maybe you haven't played the adventure games in a couple decades.
@Shiiva I could never get the hang of it. Bought it when it came out and finally sold it last year, lol. I would try it again every couple years though, so not for a lack of trying
@Daggot I'd say everybody does that. I know way too many people with massive collections of something dumb like funko pops and they live in studios. The collection obsession with some things baffles me
I love FR/LG and play through one of them every couple years on my SP. Can't believe how long it's been. Still remember late nights at my friends place or on camping trips Trading and battling. Good times.
@Mando44646 how do they "keep" you from playing them? They keep you from buying them? Owning them? I do not get this whole argument that if Nintendo doesn't make an old game available on a new system, they're somehow "keeping" you from playing it.
@Frailbay30 "Had the orignal vision went through..."
But it didn't...did it.... Its cartoon hedgehogs that are sometimes snarky and sometimes more "teenage" themed. Still aimed at kids. That book you wrote is way overthinking it.
@DripDropCop146 "As to why the American original show was cancelled? Who knows."
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that "Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog" didn't exactly have the same ring to it and cool factor as "power rangers" lol
VR troopers was awesome. Thanks for the reminder, I'd forgotten about it.
Also seems like anytime these lists come out, if the newest game isn't in the top, everybody claims it's because of the "nostalgia factor." Sometimes guys, older games are just better, lol
Solid direct for me. I wish we were getting metroid 2 and 3 Remastered as well, but I can't complain about finally seeing an end goal for prime 4. And who knows, they could still drop them before its out. 2025 doesn't mean January.
@McGruber of you've never bought from them, why are you hating on them so much, lol.
It could still sell plenty of copies. Just depends on how many people pre-order in the 6 months they'll be offering it. Also, most LRG releases d don't seem to go for much on ebay or mercari. Maybe the collectors editions, but not just the games. I usually see $30 LRG games going for $35-40 on ebay
The big downside to LRG is production time. It varies from game to game but after pre-orders close you won't get the game for 6-12 months probably. Although I have gotten them in 4
@teo_o they don't really "sell out" because there's a pre-order window. Anyone who wants a copy can buy it, they just have to do so within the time frame, which is usually like 6 months.
I've never understood the hate they get. If they were on kickstarter or something, nobody would complain about how long it takes to get a game. Patience is a virtue.
@dr-gorgo first off, all corporations are only business oriented. Especially Sony.
Second, you must not know any of Nintendos history, cause they definitely don't shut down support after the new console is released. Pretty obvious given that this is happening 7 years after they discontinued the wii U and 3DS. If the switch 2 is backwards compatible (like it probably is) we'll be even better off.
@Big_Fudge as opposed to paying extra for high speed internet, then paying extra for online service, so you can play with people not in the same room as you....
I've also never had a game stop working. Whose breaking their games all the time?
Point is, we used to buy games and that was that....we owned them. Didn't have to wait for a download, didn't have to pay for a service, didn't need to pay extra for in game accessories or outfits, didn't need to pay extra to unlock content that may or may not already be available at launch, didnt have to worry about servers being shut down or anything else that could remove features of the game we bought, and we could actually sit down In the same room as someone and play together. Most of that is gone or on its way out. It's sad, don't try and minimize it.
@Shade_Koopa I prefer "if you can't beat em, screw em"
As in, the day a company takes away our option for physical, and forces us into not owning games anymore, is the day I stop supporting them. Rolling over to let them do whatever they want makes no sense to me. Corporations are not our friends
This article is weird. 6 years is pretty typical for console releases, why does 1 more year suddenly make the switch "sooooo old"?
Also yeah we've seen new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, both of which released their new consoles after....wait for it, 7 years. 2013 - 2020 for both.
Personally I've always thought consoles released too quickly. Pushing us to spend more money, more often. And let's be fair, there's been diminishing Returns for new generations for a while now. The leap from snes to n64 was massive, but wii to wii u, not so much. The main thing that pushed new generations was competition, because companies don't want to get left behind and lose customers to whoever released the newest tech quickest. But Nintendo found a way around that, they don't directly compete with anyone.
@Bass_X0 apples and oranges. Phones have never had physical media. This would be incredibly rich companies taking away our options so they have total control.
I'm in the camp of 100% physical, and nothing will change that.
These incredibly rich companies, no matter what the products are, already control us and the market in so many unacceptable ways. I refuse to be a part of them controlling this too. Look at HBO, Prime, etc. They lose shows and movies all the time, they raise prices constantly, and they add commercials when they say they won't. Then you have to pay more to get rid of them. Imagine that happening with video games they way they do with many mobile games.
Don't be complicit with them taking away our options.
You're calling a rumour by 1 journalist in Brazil (with no proof]) an "update" about a console that hasn't had a single official word about it published from Nintendo? What is this? Lol
@Shade_Koopa I don't know any gamers like that. All my friends have favorites that they go back to over and over.
Just cause something is inevitable doesn't mean I have to like it or accept it. Digital only is just one more way for corporations to take control and withhold stuff from us. I'm not paying the same amount for a game to not own it....and if I can't resell it, I don't own it.
