Re: Is This Our Best Look Yet At 'Switch 2'?

Corvus96

Genki are liars, got it.

I love that everyone is saying they wish that Nintendo would just announce it already, because the rumors and "leaks" have gotten old. Seems so ridiculous. It's not Nintendos fault all these losers on YouTube and twatter are trying to make a buck based off nothing

Re: 'Victory Heat Rally' Tears Up The Track In 2025 With A Limited Run Physical Release

Corvus96

@WrongChops snatches them up from who? The producers? Developers? They aren't all powerful. Be upset at the people selling them the rights if this is a real issue.

The only games I see them releasing are:
1. Games there was little chance would be released physically otherwise.
2. Games that have already been released digitally that aren't being released physically by anyone else.
3. Special editions of already physically released games.

@WhensDinner I've bought over 20 games from LRG, and I don't get the hate either. Yeah, they take a while, but they give you time to order, then they have to actually manufacture everything. They aren't a big publisher, it takes time. Prices are fine, almost always $40 for standard switch editions. I've only needed to talk to customer service once, when a game didn't show up. Sent another one that day, no issues.

Re: Random: Guilty Gear Strive's Latest Update Apparently Censors "Inappropriate Angles"

Corvus96

@Milk_ logical fallacy. That's what everyone actually seems to forget about. The "argument" has been used for virtually every regulatory debate for the last century or more. Not only that, but it's a company doing this.... not a government agency.

"The slippery slope fallacy is an argument that claims an initial event or action will trigger a series of other events and lead to an extreme or undesirable outcome. The slippery slope fallacy anticipates this chain of events without offering any evidence to substantiate the claim."

Re: Xbox's Grounded Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch, Pre-Orders Open

Corvus96

@McGruber of you've never bought from them, why are you hating on them so much, lol.

It could still sell plenty of copies. Just depends on how many people pre-order in the 6 months they'll be offering it. Also, most LRG releases d don't seem to go for much on ebay or mercari. Maybe the collectors editions, but not just the games. I usually see $30 LRG games going for $35-40 on ebay

The big downside to LRG is production time. It varies from game to game but after pre-orders close you won't get the game for 6-12 months probably. Although I have gotten them in 4

Re: Xbox's Grounded Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch, Pre-Orders Open

Corvus96

@teo_o they don't really "sell out" because there's a pre-order window. Anyone who wants a copy can buy it, they just have to do so within the time frame, which is usually like 6 months.

I've never understood the hate they get. If they were on kickstarter or something, nobody would complain about how long it takes to get a game. Patience is a virtue.

Re: Reminder: Nintendo Is Ending 3DS And Wii U Online Play Early Next Month

Corvus96

@dr-gorgo first off, all corporations are only business oriented. Especially Sony.

Second, you must not know any of Nintendos history, cause they definitely don't shut down support after the new console is released. Pretty obvious given that this is happening 7 years after they discontinued the wii U and 3DS. If the switch 2 is backwards compatible (like it probably is) we'll be even better off.

Re: Reminder: Nintendo Is Ending 3DS And Wii U Online Play Early Next Month

Corvus96

@Big_Fudge as opposed to paying extra for high speed internet, then paying extra for online service, so you can play with people not in the same room as you....

I've also never had a game stop working. Whose breaking their games all the time?

Point is, we used to buy games and that was that....we owned them. Didn't have to wait for a download, didn't have to pay for a service, didn't need to pay extra for in game accessories or outfits, didn't need to pay extra to unlock content that may or may not already be available at launch, didnt have to worry about servers being shut down or anything else that could remove features of the game we bought, and we could actually sit down In the same room as someone and play together. Most of that is gone or on its way out. It's sad, don't try and minimize it.

Re: Anniversary: Switch Turns Seven Today, With Over 11,000 Games On The eShop

Corvus96

This article is weird. 6 years is pretty typical for console releases, why does 1 more year suddenly make the switch "sooooo old"?

Also yeah we've seen new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, both of which released their new consoles after....wait for it, 7 years. 2013 - 2020 for both.

Personally I've always thought consoles released too quickly. Pushing us to spend more money, more often. And let's be fair, there's been diminishing Returns for new generations for a while now. The leap from snes to n64 was massive, but wii to wii u, not so much. The main thing that pushed new generations was competition, because companies don't want to get left behind and lose customers to whoever released the newest tech quickest. But Nintendo found a way around that, they don't directly compete with anyone.

Re: Talking Point: What Would Make You Happy To Give Up Physical Games And Go 100% Digital?

Corvus96

I'm in the camp of 100% physical, and nothing will change that.

These incredibly rich companies, no matter what the products are, already control us and the market in so many unacceptable ways. I refuse to be a part of them controlling this too. Look at HBO, Prime, etc. They lose shows and movies all the time, they raise prices constantly, and they add commercials when they say they won't. Then you have to pay more to get rid of them. Imagine that happening with video games they way they do with many mobile games.

Don't be complicit with them taking away our options.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Want To See Colourful Cartridges Return For 'Switch 2'?

Corvus96

@Shade_Koopa
I don't know any gamers like that. All my friends have favorites that they go back to over and over.

Just cause something is inevitable doesn't mean I have to like it or accept it. Digital only is just one more way for corporations to take control and withhold stuff from us. I'm not paying the same amount for a game to not own it....and if I can't resell it, I don't own it.
