Re: Xbox's Grounded Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch, Pre-Orders Open

Corvus96

@McGruber of you've never bought from them, why are you hating on them so much, lol.

It could still sell plenty of copies. Just depends on how many people pre-order in the 6 months they'll be offering it. Also, most LRG releases d don't seem to go for much on ebay or mercari. Maybe the collectors editions, but not just the games. I usually see $30 LRG games going for $35-40 on ebay

The big downside to LRG is production time. It varies from game to game but after pre-orders close you won't get the game for 6-12 months probably. Although I have gotten them in 4

Re: Xbox's Grounded Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch, Pre-Orders Open

Corvus96

@teo_o they don't really "sell out" because there's a pre-order window. Anyone who wants a copy can buy it, they just have to do so within the time frame, which is usually like 6 months.

I've never understood the hate they get. If they were on kickstarter or something, nobody would complain about how long it takes to get a game. Patience is a virtue.

Re: Reminder: Nintendo Is Ending 3DS And Wii U Online Play Early Next Month

Corvus96

@dr-gorgo first off, all corporations are only business oriented. Especially Sony.

Second, you must not know any of Nintendos history, cause they definitely don't shut down support after the new console is released. Pretty obvious given that this is happening 7 years after they discontinued the wii U and 3DS. If the switch 2 is backwards compatible (like it probably is) we'll be even better off.

Re: Reminder: Nintendo Is Ending 3DS And Wii U Online Play Early Next Month

Corvus96

@Big_Fudge as opposed to paying extra for high speed internet, then paying extra for online service, so you can play with people not in the same room as you....

I've also never had a game stop working. Whose breaking their games all the time?

Point is, we used to buy games and that was that....we owned them. Didn't have to wait for a download, didn't have to pay for a service, didn't need to pay extra for in game accessories or outfits, didn't need to pay extra to unlock content that may or may not already be available at launch, didnt have to worry about servers being shut down or anything else that could remove features of the game we bought, and we could actually sit down In the same room as someone and play together. Most of that is gone or on its way out. It's sad, don't try and minimize it.

Re: Anniversary: Switch Turns Seven Today, With Over 11,000 Games On The eShop

Corvus96

This article is weird. 6 years is pretty typical for console releases, why does 1 more year suddenly make the switch "sooooo old"?

Also yeah we've seen new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, both of which released their new consoles after....wait for it, 7 years. 2013 - 2020 for both.

Personally I've always thought consoles released too quickly. Pushing us to spend more money, more often. And let's be fair, there's been diminishing Returns for new generations for a while now. The leap from snes to n64 was massive, but wii to wii u, not so much. The main thing that pushed new generations was competition, because companies don't want to get left behind and lose customers to whoever released the newest tech quickest. But Nintendo found a way around that, they don't directly compete with anyone.

Re: Talking Point: What Would Make You Happy To Give Up Physical Games And Go 100% Digital?

Corvus96

I'm in the camp of 100% physical, and nothing will change that.

These incredibly rich companies, no matter what the products are, already control us and the market in so many unacceptable ways. I refuse to be a part of them controlling this too. Look at HBO, Prime, etc. They lose shows and movies all the time, they raise prices constantly, and they add commercials when they say they won't. Then you have to pay more to get rid of them. Imagine that happening with video games they way they do with many mobile games.

Don't be complicit with them taking away our options.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Want To See Colourful Cartridges Return For 'Switch 2'?

Corvus96

@Shade_Koopa
I don't know any gamers like that. All my friends have favorites that they go back to over and over.

Just cause something is inevitable doesn't mean I have to like it or accept it. Digital only is just one more way for corporations to take control and withhold stuff from us. I'm not paying the same amount for a game to not own it....and if I can't resell it, I don't own it.

Re: Talking Point: How Were You Introduced To Metroid?

Corvus96

My first metroid was super. There was a garage sale in my friend's neighborhood in 99 (and I was 9 at the time) and I bought it for $8. I recognized Samus from Smash bros and between that and the cover art I had to have it. Loved it immediately, but unfortunately I could never find the grapple beam (I've beaten it plenty of times now) so I stopped playing. Then I got Fusion for Christmas the year it came out, beat it that night, and it's been in my top 5 favorite series since. Only mainline games I haven't beat are Prime 2, Prime 3, and other m. I'll have to fix that soon.

Also, the Nintendo life writers that haven't played metroid DO make me feel weird 😝

Re: Turok 3's Remaster Has Accidentally Released Early In Select Regions

Corvus96

@vio doesn't change the fact that they completely remade it from the ground up. Remastered is just a better name, it's a remake. The turok Remasters can be as extensive as they want, they still don't look good by today's standards. Hell, they don't look good by the standards of 20 years ago. Just my opinion, but games from the n64/ps1 Era just didn't age well graphics wise

Re: Feature: A Look Inside Seattle's Real-Life Animal Crossing Aquarium

Corvus96

"more temperate climate of the tropical Pacific community exhibit (think Hawaii’s waters)"

Sorry to be "that guy" but temperate and tropical are two different things. The pacific northwest is a temperate climate (colder), and the tropical pacific has a tropical climate (warmer).

Looks like a fun event, even if it is a little lacking in the animal crossing stuff. It is a great aquarium and part of Seattle.

Re: Random: Nintendo And Seattle Aquarium Join Forces For An Animal Crossing Event

Corvus96

@rjejr I live in Washington and I would recommend going in October or early November. Seattle is really nice in fall, and they have a pretty mild climate. It won't be really cold, might rain, but the leaves will have changed colors and the tourists won't be out in full force like they are in spring and summer.

If you do go, other highlights in the area near the aquarium are pike place market, gameworks (huge arcade), and pike brewing if you like beer (its like a beer museum and pub)

Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Gamescom Demo Supposedly Had Zelda: BOTW Running At 4K 60FPS

Corvus96

@Dragonite89 how is someone saying they're content with what we have equivalent to "denying" it? Makes no sense. Myself and a lot of other people on here just don't need a new switch right this second, and the constant rumors get old. The switch is still great, still selling well, and still releasing solid games. So for now, im fine with waiting a while for Nintendos next console. Also the "we don't need 4k" part is in reference to handheld mode.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Store Your Games Collection?

Corvus96

My switch, gamecube, 360, ds, and 3ds games are all in their cases on shelves in my entertainment center.
I have an old TV in a spare room that'll eventually have display shelves and cases for everything else. For now I use clear plastic storage tubs for NES, SNES, N64, genesis, PS1, PS2, Xbox, wii, and all my gameboy games. They're a good size, especially for fitting my roughly 100 SNES Games.
I used to have saturn, dreamcast, and gamegear games in one as well, but I sold them during covid. Haven't decided yet if I regret it, lol.

Re: Best Pikmin Games

Corvus96

Very weird ranking including all the different versions of games.

For me it's 2 > 4 > 1 > 3

I doubt they'll be able to make another pikmin as good as 2. It's certainly the most challenging, and has the best puzzles. 3 and 4 both feel a little gimmicky to me.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pikmin 4?

Corvus96

I've been a fan of the pikmin games since the first came out. 2 is still easily the best one for me, but this is probably pretty close. Definitely better than 3 thankfully, which I thought was a letdown. The plot seems good, I like the controls, great visuals, etc.

That being said it still isn't a perfect 10. I'm not a fan of the dog...seems like an unnecessary element that just makes the game way easier. Definitely a lack of interesting puzzles so far, and I've already found all the crew except the pilot. Maybe the puzzles will get more interesting. Also as others have mentioned, the first few days are super annoying. Way too much dialog and interruptions. The dialysis visit to the hub seems unnecessary as well, and just takes up time. The only other issue I have is minimal, but I wish they hadn't changed the onions from the first 2 games.
