This 1st game was a guilty pleasure. It wasn't very polished but it was alot of fun if you like beatemups. This one is just flat out broken.

@Serpenterror Powerslave Exhumed is a gold standard for retro FPS remasters.

@Bizzyb "More of the same" is never a good thing though.

A 7/10 is generous in this game's current state. I would give it a 5/10 as its a buggy mess, long load times & 30FPS on a beatemup is unacceptable. Fortunately the devs are working on fixing that. I'd recommend to skip this game for now & wait for the patch, or purchase at half-off.

While Crisis Core technically runs better on PS5, the game is meant to be played portably.

Maybe i'm buggin (no pun), but the game's resolution looks a bit better post-patch in portable mode.

@YoshiF2 I respectfully disagree. I hear this opinion a lot, and I love Megaman X, but the quality isn't there as the series fell off hard after X4. However, I do think there is potential for a great 2D X game.

Unpopular opinion, but even if this game worked 100%, the remake & the original are just "good" at best. Worth playing nonetheless.

@msvt I recommend the PRO controller bc of the large face & shoulder buttons, and the tall analog sticks. I got the platinum trophy for this game and PS5, and trust me it requires ALOT of precision.

The DPAD is useless for this game (and the PRO CONTROLLER DPAD is useless too TBH). Anything DPAD related, I would use the 8BITDO Pro.

Big fan of the Wii U. Games really play and feel different on here. Rayman Legends, Wonderful 101, Mario Maker, Splatoon, New Mario Bros U, and Zombie U all play best on here.

@Branovices Castlevania 2 is unplayable without a guide. I feel it deserves the REMAKE treatment.

Its definitely an age/generational thing, but Zelda '87 holds up very well for me personally.

This game doesn't exactly push the medium forward, but I think its great that a JRPG can get nominated for GOTY in 2022.

My vote for worst game of the year.

I had to double dip on this (PS4/Switch). While this runs way better on PS5 with 6 players, the Switch having the option for 6 players locally is a sell for me.

Only excited for Zelda TotK & Pikmin 4, but i'll be getting Return to Dreamland (again).

This is in my top 3 games of the year. Not sure if I would want to play this portably, as its definitely a game suited for the big screen & PRO Controller.

@Magician I feel the first Lego Marvel Super Heroes game is better than Ultimate Alliance 3.

How can anyone in their right mind recommend Ultimate Alliance 3 to anyone?

Hardware limitations really set this one back from real greatness. I can see this game running on an Xbox 360. This can't possibly get more than a 9/10 for me personally. With that said, Platinum still managed to make a great game, especially on the combat front.

Early impressions are mostly positive for me so far. I'm loving the revamped battle system, however, there are WAY too many loading screens on here.

Took me 45hrs to complete this game. Replayed some chapters and made some fatal errors that made me restart. I recommend going into this one with a guide.

Ha im 37 too. Disgaea grinding is torture. In OCTO, I would just grind in the next chapter's region underpowered, until i felt comfortable progressing.

@earthinheritor The grinding was pretty annoying, but I was into the game so much that it wasn't a chore for me. Also, I'm an older gamer that played JRPG's in the 90's and this is familiar territory for me.

I don't trust this site for 1st party games, but Bayonetta & hack/slash games are my fav. gaming genre, and the critical acclaim seems to be universal. Can't wait to get my package on FRIDAY.

@Magician Took me 115hrs to complete everyone's story.

This game has fun storytelling and very basic combat. Its a treasure for RPG fans of the 16-Bit era, but it doesn't really hold up to modern standards. Its biggest flaw for me was that it has too many interactive elements, and lacks gameplay. I'd give this a 6 out of 10.

LOL @ Nintendo fans complaining about a full priced remake. The Switch's entire generation is built on remakes and remasters.

I would give this a 6/10. I loved these games back in the day but unfortunately they are too basic and do not hold up. I really liked how the compilation was put together though. As a fan of Turtles & Beatemups fan i have no regrets on my purchase (PS5 & Switch versions)

I played the original when it first came out & I never cared for it personally. Mario Kart 64 on the otherhand was when I really got into it.

ANOTHER TERRIBLE REMASTER FROM SEGA & ANOTHER BOOTLICKING REVIEW FOR NOSTALGIA POINTS. THIS IS FAR BELOW AVERAGE, ESPECIALLY ON SWITCH.

AS A BEATEMUP FANATIC THERE WAS A LITTLE FUN TO BE HAD WITH THIS WITH A FEW LAUGHS HERE & THERE, BUT THIS IS FAR BELOW AVG.

THIS GAME LIVES UP TO THE HYPE, AND ACTUALLY ELEVATED THE SERIES BY BEING BETTER THAN THE CLASSIC TMNT BEATEMUPS. THIS IS NOT AS GOOD AS STREETS OF RAGE 4 AS I FEEL THE COMBAT IS TOO SIMPLISTIC TO WORK IN A SINGLE PLAYER GAME. BUT THAT SIMPLICITY IS ALSO THE BEAUTY OF THIS GAME'S PICK UP & PLAY NATURE. I AGREE WITH THE 9/10 SCORE.

Game was meatier than I expected. Got the platinum trophy on PS5 in 40hrs. Great game and worth every cent.

As a huge fan of the Wonder Boy series & MWIV, but this is a massive disappointment & an 8/10 is way too high for this remake as it doesn't hold up to today's standards in METRIODVANIA's. They didn't do any quality of life upgrades, and it has some pretty offputting sprites (art is subjective, but it feels like a rush job). I bought this physically & its a 4/10 (below avg).

@BenAV Its a really short game. I finished it in a couple hrs. Not a big commitment if you're interested in a short/sweet puzzle game.

Loved the polarizing ending. Still have mixed feelings about it, but I appreciate it what it was & how it left me feeling.

Oddly enough I prefer the motion controls to this game over the R-STICK. There is a cool story in this, but it is the weakest 3D Zelda, a bit wonky, and really a 6/10 game for me personally.

Very disappointed in this review.
