8/10: A perfect way to expand the series, but the Free Roam elements need alot of work. I enjoyed the Free Roam, I can see it being improved or refined with future installments. Knockout mode is 🔥

This game was more impactful in 2017. I don't see myself going back to this one.

One of the best pick up & play experiences I had a long time.

I've been on board with this as soon as they confirmed they are keeping the retro engine's physics.

To be brutally honest, I haven't really liked their remakes. Panzer Dragoon fared better after patches but House of the Dead was disastrous.

Huge Rainbow Island fan. Idk why but i can play that game for hours. Watching those fat boys eat all those snacks gets me hungry too.

If BotW is A New Hope, TotK is Empire Strikes Back.

Ill be getting this day 1. Love the pikmin series. If Nintendo ever ventured into real VR, Pikmin should be their launch title.

@Sonicka i hear u. I didnt buy this game yet, so i thought "hey...might as well grab the box." If you're double dipping & happy just getting the box, i can totally dig that as a collector. For me personally, ill just get this digital later on down the line.

The remake is good, but pretty average. I prefer DX or even the OG over the remake.

EU boxart is close, but i prefer the constrasted layers of the Japan cover

I prefer the North American one. The other one screams boring spinoff IMO.

This looks like its the first original and essential first party game for the Switch since Super Mario Odyssey. Looking forward to that package tomorrow!

Fair score, but this game is alot of fun.

This has to be the most underrated game of this year. Excellent game design, smart combat, and a touching story. This would definitely get an 8.5/10 from me.

I'm very surprised at Nintendolife exploring the scale for this one LOL. I enjoyed my time with the demo, so I will be buying this soon.

I'll get it based on reviews. Im a die-hard Bayo fan, but this is a completely new genre & experience all together. But I am interested & i do like the art style. Getting Okami vibes so far.

@Bunkerneath Activating Viola's witch time is terrible.

This game is kind of slept on. Alot of people in my circles either don't like it or never heard of it.

This game stinks. I didn't like the controls, and the combat is below avg even for its time. I appreciate the novelty and context the game provides but I couldn't recommend this game to anyone. 4/10 - Below AVG

I could never get into SaGa. Part of me wants to check this out for the novelty of having some obscure Gameboy games on Switch.

This is a good game. I just feel some quality of life adjustments would really help in a game like this. Being able to track the endings you achieved, places visited, and view the photos you unlock would've been nice.

Japan no doubt. The other looks pretty drab in my opinion.

This 1st game was a guilty pleasure. It wasn't very polished but it was alot of fun if you like beatemups. This one is just flat out broken.

@Serpenterror Powerslave Exhumed is a gold standard for retro FPS remasters.

@Bizzyb "More of the same" is never a good thing though.

A 7/10 is generous in this game's current state. I would give it a 5/10 as its a buggy mess, long load times & 30FPS on a beatemup is unacceptable. Fortunately the devs are working on fixing that. I'd recommend to skip this game for now & wait for the patch, or purchase at half-off.

While Crisis Core technically runs better on PS5, the game is meant to be played portably.

Maybe i'm buggin (no pun), but the game's resolution looks a bit better post-patch in portable mode.

@YoshiF2 I respectfully disagree. I hear this opinion a lot, and I love Megaman X, but the quality isn't there as the series fell off hard after X4. However, I do think there is potential for a great 2D X game.

Unpopular opinion, but even if this game worked 100%, the remake & the original are just "good" at best. Worth playing nonetheless.

@msvt I recommend the PRO controller bc of the large face & shoulder buttons, and the tall analog sticks. I got the platinum trophy for this game and PS5, and trust me it requires ALOT of precision.

The DPAD is useless for this game (and the PRO CONTROLLER DPAD is useless too TBH). Anything DPAD related, I would use the 8BITDO Pro.

Big fan of the Wii U. Games really play and feel different on here. Rayman Legends, Wonderful 101, Mario Maker, Splatoon, New Mario Bros U, and Zombie U all play best on here.

@Branovices Castlevania 2 is unplayable without a guide. I feel it deserves the REMAKE treatment.

Its definitely an age/generational thing, but Zelda '87 holds up very well for me personally.

This game doesn't exactly push the medium forward, but I think its great that a JRPG can get nominated for GOTY in 2022.
