Looks pretty interesting. I've never seen a team-based racing game before. But I rarely play multiplayer games, and I don't know if this would be fun single-player, so...
God of War. It's pretty amazing. Now when is it coming to the Switch?
...
Okay, probably not. Actually, I have to say this is not a game I'd want to play on a portable anyway, even if it was possible. You really need as many pixels as possible to show this one off.
Hmm, I got a bit confused with the name and I was hoping this was Kuru Kuru Kururin. An obscure GBA game that I never played and yet remember somehow (probably because it was a GBA launch game and I was excitedly reading all the GBA reviews at the time...)
I hope they do something really new. I haven't played one of these since Gold/Silver but I don't really have any interest in the same basic turn-based combat. Do something more tactical, where positioning makes a difference. If it's the same old turn-based combat we've seen for two decades, count me out.
I'd love to see this in open-world form. It should let us go into the high-level areas early if we want to. Just give some kind of a warning first - like how Witcher 3 displays the level recommendation on the map, but you can ignore it if you want.
That last bit Alan mentioned in Super Mario Odyssey was amazing. It made me want to throw my switch across the room but I kept coming back. I wish the whole game was like that. When is some indie dev going to make the Super Meat Boy of 3D platformers?
I picked up FAST RMX. They're not kidding. It is fast. And looks great. Now if only I can stop slamming into everything.
My guess: A 'new' console a bit like the SNES classic, capable of emulating many games from the Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast era. I think there was some kind of Sega Genesis-classic thing but this would be better.
$60 is a bit high for this game, I'll admit. But hey - supply and demand! Not too surprising the price is higher. The demand is there for the Switch version where it is not for the Wii U version. I'll pick this up day one because I never bothered with the Wii U.
Cannot wait for this one. Never played the Wii U version (since I never got a Wii U...) so this is like a brand new DKC for me. I loved DKCR, except for the motion controls, so this is perfect. And the soundtrack by the legendary David Wise is amazing. Although I will admit it is a bit pricey.
B-K is special. I'd like to see a new sequel but I would hope that the lessons of Yooka-Laylee would be learned. I didn't play Y-L but from the sounds of it it suffered from the some of the problems of the later Rare platformers like DK64 and Tooie: Worlds too big, too many things to collect, too much repetition, too many locked gates. B-K hit the absolute sweet spot in its level design: Each stage was big but not too overwhelming, with some minigames but with a focus on platforming. Each was instantly iconic and memorable. Each was a giant jungle gym of fun - fun just running around and exploring. Each was built around a single big landmark that could be seen from almost every corner of the map, so it was easy to find your way around. And the stages were small enough that there was always something to interesting and surprising just around the corner.
I've played dozens of hours of Into the Breach and loved it, but I've beaten it on hard and there's not much content left to do. So, I needed another game to scratch that tactics itch so I picked up X-Com (2012 version). Pretty tense and fun so far! I was tempted to pick up Mario + Rabbids, because, you know, Switch - but I find the Rabbids really annoying.
This looks gorgeous and exactly like the kind of game I like: tough-as-nails, fast moving platformer. If this gets good reviews it may be a day-one purchase for me.
Looks pretty interesting, if a bit generic. It is a bold risk to try to compete with the likes of Zelda etc. This kind of slow-paced 3D adventure game has to be VERY good to sustain my interest when I could be playing, say, The Witcher 3. 2D indie games are the ones I'm more likely to pick up on a whim.
This looks really good! I just hope it does enough to stand out from Zelda. Blossom Tales is an example of a game that might be good on its own but leaves a bad taste in my mouth due to lack of original ideas - everything seems copied from LTTP. So hopefully this one has a good amount of non-Zelda ingredients in the stew.
Splatoon characters are an obvious fit to Smash! Everyone could see that coming. Here's another bet: Chances of someone from Arms appearing is 99.9%. The real question is... what third party characters will appear? Would be awesome to see something from Square Enix land.
@retro_player_22 It looks like an HD remaster, not a straight port.
I was always mystified and intrigued by this game looking at screenshots in Nintendo Power as a kid. Does it hold up for someone who never played it back in the day?
I'm glad some people can enjoy this game, but I also kind of hate that it exists. Zelda games rarely mention wars in Hyrule, but when they do, it is with hushed tones. Zelda is about going on an adventure, not about killing zillions of dudes. It's a total tone mismatch and bad fanfiction.
@BanjoPickles You might be right. I haven't played Fallout 4 so I don't know how portable it is compared to Skyrim or Wolfenstein 2. But I would not be surprised by something else from Bethesda. Dishonored? Make it so.
I don't know why everyone complains about ports. You don't have to play it if you don't want to. Although it is a tad overpriced.
I will buy it day one because I never had a Wii U and I love DKCR and tough 2D platformers in general. Also, David Wise is back for the soundtrack and it is phenomenal.
This is one of my favorite game stories ever, up with FFVI and Grim Fandango. Mae is very immature but I never found her annoying. And, you know, greg rulz. ok.
@Equinox, Just play it. There's no politics. I don't know what you're even referring to. There are a couple gay characters, so I guess if that bothers you then you can avoid it?

Re: Surprise! There's A New Nintendo Direct Coming, And It's Due Tomorrow
My predictions:
Mario Maker, either a port or Mario Maker 2, announced for Switch.
At least two more third party ports announced (Diablo III. Fallout 4?)
Odyssey DLC.
Stupid stuff like extra costumes/characters for Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors.
One more Labo kit.
At least one brand new non-port game announcement (but not anything huge like Smash or Zelda or Metroid - that's for E3.)

@BlackenedHalo I think the only reason is that often in Japanese media characters won't have nipples. e.g., Link in BOTW.
