Supergonk's Trailblazers is shaping up to be quite the speed-fest, mixing Splatoon-style track-painting with anti-grav racing.
It has now been confirmed that the game will showcase cross-platform multiplayer, which means you'll be able to compete against players on other systems. According to the game's Steam page, cross-platform play links PC/Mac/Linux players to either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One/Nintendo Switch players. Looks like Sony continues to be a stick in the mud when it comes to this kind of thing.
Update: The other big news is that the game launches on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 8th, but we're been told by publisher Rising Star that the Switch version won't be available until June.

This looks decent! Fingers crossed!
Looks good. Just wish I had someone to play it co-op with.
This is great news ,plus I had no idea it was coming so soon.
Cool concept, but will wait for reviews. Besides, I kinda already get all the racing action I need from Mario kart.
I hope this is good... but I think a "Splatoon style" Battle Mode in Mario Kart would make more sense.
Looks pretty cool, though I'm not sold just yet.
damn it Sony. Bow to cross platform multiplayer!
Sucks we still have to assume when a release date is announced it likely doesn't include the Switch version..
I like the concept, I like how the track changes colors because perhaps that would mean that there is more skill to the game other than memorizing the track shortcuts.
F zero meets Splatoon, simple pitch, nice idea!
Looks
really coolTOTALLY FRESH!...definitely adding that to my watchlist!
Cross-Platform multiplayer!....except PS4, because Sony hates socializing.
@Joeynator3000 Just like when Microsoft didn't want cross-play last gen when Sony offered it, because they were the market leader.
Oh man. That actually looks really cool!
Looks pretty interesting. I've never seen a team-based racing game before. But I rarely play multiplayer games, and I don't know if this would be fun single-player, so...
Curious to know how big the download will be, im running outta space
well that looks creative. I hope its good
@Octane well Microsoft has changed, though...Sony however is still as stubborn as always.
@Joeynator3000 Well, remember they were the ones offering it last gen with the PS3/Xbox 360, Microsoft declined and everyone was fine with that too.
The issue is that cross play is only beneficial to the platform holders with the lowest install base (Microsoft and currently Nintendo, but the Switch is selling well, so that won't be long). For Sony it means a potential loss in sales, for Microsoft it means an increase in sales. Plus, I'm pretty sure they want none of the Xbox Live shenanigans on PlayStation. Business wise, it makes sense. The bad press? Negligible in comparison.
@XenoShaun It does, though I often console myself with the idea that we are still relatively early in the Switch's life, and developers are still probably trying to find the best way to develop for the new platform. Hopefully in year 3 we will see more parity.
@Octane from a business perspective it also doesn’t make a lot of sense, the reason I don’t have a PS4 is because Sony locks out cross platform multiplayer, so it cuts both ways. I’m definitely not alone in my boycott either.
@tekknik Err.. maybe. But I think that the group of people that buys a PS4 because their friends have one and they want to play online with them is a lot bigger.
The game looks awesome! If it has a smooth frame rate I think I will bite!
Not big on rising star games but hopefully this will be good
Cautiously optimistic, but NOT happy about the late Switch release date.
@Octane oh absolutely, otherwise they would have ended this segregation already. My point being they will not be able to continue this forvever as multiplayer games become more cross platform they will be forced to change their minds or be left behind. Sony will not win the console war with this attitude, it just needs to become more clear to them.
I played this at PAX East and it was...interesting. I did weirdly poorly at it so I have no idea how to feel about it, but it at least had a lot of interesting potential.
Looks fun! Any word on pricing?
This does look good. I hope 60fps
This doesn't look too demanding, I wonder why the Switch is being delayed.
Looks like a cross between Splatoon and Fast RMX to me.
The game seemed to run a bit slow in the video, maybe because of all the painting. Not too sure on this one.
Switch version probably delayed by the launch of Donkey Kong in may. Even knowing its just a port, nintendo franchises normally outsell any third party on nintendo consoles so its not a good idea to release a game alongside first party releases.
Shafting the Switch again I see. Lame. Well I wasn't that interested anyway.
Can’t wait for this. It would have to be a pretty spectacular fail when I real the reviews in May for me to not get this. Really like the unique part of this racer!
Interesting. It would be doubly interesting if I could link my Steam and Switch accounts in some way.
Can't wait for the 30fps Switch footage
Will depend on price for me. Looks good but if it's €50 or over thats a no.
