finally, a reason to start playing games on my Nintendo 3DS after years of it taking a nap.
hopefully Nintendo will add (new) support for Hulu and Netflix? hopefully other media streaming apps will come to the 3DS. hopefully Nintendo will add more media streaming apps to the Nintendo Switch as well...
Or better yet, Nintendo can release a new version of the Nintendo Switch with a cellular radio in it. another way to make things easier for the Nintendo Switch for when it is on the go.
for some reason this article makes me want Nintendo to release an updated version of the GameCube. updating it from component and composite video to HDMI. making the system region free as well as updating it to supporting full sized DVDs instead of just the Mini-DVDs.
i think they can pull this off without having to increase the size of the console. and if they manage to keep the size of the console the same after these updates, than it can remain backwards compatible with all of its current accessories. and maybe they will do us a kindness and have the GameBoy Player software built into the OS of the system. using that boot DVD for the accessory is a pain in the behind.
i haven't had any issues with the game demo. maybe its just me and the 33 inch TV that i have. for all we know the resolution issues only happen for those who have 40 inch TVs and bigger. either way, i think these issues will be fixed before the game gets released.
hopefully i will remember this glitch for later when the full game is released on the Nintendo Switch. I'm kind of disappointed though that the person who posted this video didn't show more game-play footage. it would be nice to see how much of the game can be explored before the demo expires. if there is a part 2 for the video shown above, will someone please send me the link for it.
despite the limitations of day one, it is nice to know that there are no enemies in your way for exploring additional areas of the level. its to bad that the fruit and communication devices from the level are missing. i wonder if it is possible to create addition Pikmin on day one. for all we know that cave area where the yellow Pikmin are born is open for use.
nice cat videos, but why was someone using Mario Kart to torture their cat? i think we all need to switch to a site where cats don't get tortured because of our Mario Kart adventures.
Pikmin in the mushroom kingdom; what a great idea. its nice to see Captain Olimar has an actual job instead of crashing his ship on an unknown planet to collect the insurance money.
if nintendo is taking the path of the iphone, ipod, and ipad than maybe Nintendo should make a smartphone edition of the Nintendo Switch. or add cellular capibilities to the Nintendo Switch lite.
the demo was nice, but after 2 Pikmin days i was done.
also the Nintendo Switch version of the game seems easier than the Wii U version.
Hopefully Nintendo will release Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 onto the Switch. it would be nice to have the entire trilogy on one system with each one including some updates.
for all we know the 10-year-old child is lying about the drift issues or is only having them because he is mistreating the controllers.
during my childhood during the days of the N64, my younger sister was a bit of a sore loser. whenever she lost a round of mario kart or super smash brothers she would start screaming and throwing the controllers around.
my dad was nice enough to replace the controllers whenever that happened. however, at one point i had to start letting her win or at least make her seem as though she was better than she really was. if i let her win she would start screaming as well. she was a sore loser and a sore winner back in the day.
with steve and alex coming, a wired connection may become bottle-necked due to all of the blocks that they are making and destroying...lol just image the mess. at least with a wireeless connection; our fighters can go around or even through the mess...lol
maybe its time for Nintendo to update the Nintendo Switch so that it can use both the wired and wireless connections at the same time.
i saw a Mario RC Karts at a store back in August before Mario Kart Live was announced, i didn't really pay full attention to the details of the Kart. for all knew, it could have been the Mario Kart Live one...lol but it wasn't.
i don't remember all of those teleporter stops in the original Super Mario 64. i only remember three and only one of those were not shown in this video. the lava trick seems interesting. hopefully i will be able to master it.
i know they exist and they are nice, but i meant first party ones (made by Nintendo), not third party ones.
Nintendo released special edition Super Smash bros. ones during the Wii U era, but they forgot to add the Z2, select, and home buttons to the controller. they need to exist (first part or third party) so that Nintendo will update Super Mario Sunshine to support the analog buttons. besides other games may benefit from the analog triggers.
and I'm sorry if i sound as though i am being picky about the controllers.
i have never copies Switch cards, PS4 and Xbox One discs even for back-up purposed. if you read through the user agreement policies some gaming companies say that you are allowed to make a copy of your CD/DVDs (games, TV shows, and Movies) for back-up purposes only. unfortunately, some people make copies for others.
the policy may need to be revisited, but how so? and where to start? maybe one day the gaming giants (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and others) will get together and make a universal return/refund policy for their downloadable games.
when retailers put that policy in place many years ago, it was because it is possible to copy the contents of the game from the CD/DVD to your computer. and just as easy to make a copy of the CD/DVD and retailers do not want to risk that.
and yes, i am used to. of course then, i have never wanted to return a physical copy of the game. and as you may or may not have noticed i was referring to video games and computer games.
in terms of vacuum cleaners go along with many other physical goods like toasters, ovens, washers, and dryers. that kind of policy would be horrible. we at least at minimum need to be able to find out if we have received a faulty or defective product or if the item was damaged in transit or if the wrong item was sent to us.
the last item i returned was a laptop that i purchased from HP. i returned it because it kept crashing every few minutes. it was due to a faulty graphics card. and three months later AMD released an article about those faulty graphics cards that were included in some laptops at the time. HP released a statement as well saying that they would give a refund to any user who purchased a laptop from them with that particular graphics card. HP also said that they would give each and every one of those customers a a new laptop to replace the faulty ones and do so free of charge. they didn't even ask for the consumer to return the defective unit.
Nintendo needs to update Super Mario Sunshine to be compatible with the GameCube controller. it would be nice to have the analog controls back.
either way, the Nintendo Switch needs a firmware update so that we can get proper GameCube controller support. it would be nice to get updated GameCube controllers (ones with Z2, Select, and a home button on them.) or possibly even an updated GameCube controller adapter that has a Home button on it. we shouldn't be forced to connect a Nintendo Switch controller to the system as our only way of returning to the home screen when playing with the GameCube Controller.
nintendo should update their refund policy and allow us to return a game if we haven't played it. (within two hours of purchase).
in terms of accidental purchases on the eShop Nintendo should update the eShop and their policy so that purchases will not be made final until the user exits the eShop or switches over to playing a game. this could be useful for DLC purchases which won't really install until you restart the software that they are for.
we are in the digital era we should be able to cancel our game orders while still in the eShop. as far as physical copies of the game go, if we take it out of the package, than no returns or exchanges will be allowed which is understandable. i think best buy currently has that policy in place for most of their PC and gaming products.
i still haven't had this issue with the Joy-Con controllers. however, at one point i have had this issue with an N64 Controller, but the controller was old, worn out, and possibly in need of replacement or in need of being re-calibrated.
hopefully this Joy-Con issue will be fixed (or at least people won't be complaining about it as much) before the Nintendo Switch Pro gets released; if it ever gets released.
If they release King Boo as a racer than i may defiantly purchase him to race against Mario.
or for all we know Nintendo may get creative and release one of Luigi wearing the Poltergust 3000. just imagine a RC racer made to look like it is being powered by a vacuum...lol or maybe one of where Mario has F.L.U.D.D with him. it may be interesting to see an RC racer being powered by a "smart" water pump...lol
the list is smaller that i thought it would be. however, out of all of the games on this list i only play Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. for me the text size is fine, but the size of the mini-map that is used to help you get around the area needs to be enlarged.
i think getting a bigger TV may help with games that have very small text and objects, but it is too expensive to do so for just one or two games on a single system.
if we are getting a Nintendo switch pro or a Nintendo switch 2, i may end up buying it assuming that it is compatible with all of the current Nintendo switch games.
they did that kind of thing with the GameBoy advance, the Nintendo DS, the 3DS, the Wii, and the Wii U.
even the GameCube had backwards compatibility with N64 games. but from what i remember that was just rummers related to serial port A and information found on the Nintendo service disc for DOL-001. if only that were true, it would have been nice. however, that was a long, long, long time ago.
and for all we know, Nintendo is trying to do something new. the Nintendo Switch Pro or Nintendo Switch 2 could contain a DVD that will allow the system to be backwards compatible with games from the GameCube, Wii, and/or Wii U. or possibly a cartilage slot so that the system is backwards compatible with Nintendo DS/3DS games. but that is just a pipe dream. i think some people can imagine a Super Nintendo Master System. unfortunately it would probably be limited to 1.5/2 teraflops.
the only way we will have that kind of backwards compatibility on a dedicated Nintendo console is if Nintendo partners with Microsoft for a short while and i do not think that is a good idea. just imagine; one day there could be the Nintendo Xbox. at one point i remember there being rummers of a Nintendo PlayStation that never was...
some interesting glitches. my favorite one is the one with the time stamp of 7:12 AM · Sep 21, 2020.
hopefully, Nintendo will fix these glitches. as well as giving us a way to turn them back on for fun. just imagine a ton of speed runs of the game with all of the glitches running along side the game working as it should.
@bahooney i just re-read the article and its says that the first two of the games are capped out at 30fps. i missed that part for Super Mario Sunshine. it it seems as though the original framerate for Super Mario Galaxy it not pointed out in the article, but at least its at 60fps.
for me, it always felt as though Super Mario Sunshine ran at about 40fps on the GameCube. I'll update my original comment
from what i remember the glitch was in the U.S. version of the game. as far as the different localizations of the game, i am not sure which ones had which glitches and what all of the minor differences are. (other than text speed...lol)
one of the most noticeable differences i noticed is what Mario says to Bowser while he is being thrown into the spikes during the boss battles. currently i think there are three or four different things that Mario says to Bowser during that scenario.
until recently, i didn't even know about the Japan-exclusive Shindou version. there was something about it on nintendolife in a past article talking about which version of Super Mario 64 is being included.
if you are right and they are using a patched version of that release then it is somewhat disappointing. I will not be able to use the glitch to complete the game with zero stars again! or for all we know there will be a hidden setting that will allow us to pick which localization of the game that we would like to play.
now for them to update Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy so that they support 60fps instead of just 30fps which is unfortunately less than what was expected. i hope Nintendo fixes this at a later date.
maybe the next update will include an update for Super Mario 64. possibly an update so that the game will have support for wide-screen TVs. we need it updated to 16:9 we are tired of having it in 4:3...lol
or better yet, maybe they can add Super Mario 64 DS to the All-Stars collection, as well as Super Mario Galaxy 2.
hopefully this update did not fix the backwards long jump glitch...
i have not had the joy-con drift issue yet. one of my joy-cons probably has the issue, but since i never use the joy-cons enough, it will never harm me.
however, two of my joy-cons have battery issues. thankfully best buy just refunded me instead of making me go through the process of the whole repair and replace torture.
when i saw the words: "Pokémon Air Is A Pikachu You Can Ride", i almost thought that the Pokemon company decided to open their own airline or at least team up with one.
Nintendo should have included more of the game and watch games (both Mario and non-Mario versions) to the new game and watch system. other than that it is still a must have.
selling Super Mario 3D All-Stars for a limited time is a bit annoying. I just hope they sneak in some extras into the game that they are not telling us to make up for this.
i wonder if this will support Nintendo Switch Online. just imagine two people racing each other with their Mario Karts on the same track in multiple homes.
for all we know there will be some way, possibly a glitch that will allow us to pick which version of the game we would like to play. or for all we know they may have fixed the glitch that allows us to use the backwards long jump. (the horror...lol)
love the intro for bowser. now to add is friends, i mean enemies from super Mario RPG.just imagine super smash bros where all of bowser's minions are included in the game with many of the moving super mario bros levels. even some under water ones. it will be the bowser character pack.
i wasn't counting a repackaging of the same game as a port. and i forgot which system that also received a port of the game. of course then i don't always keep track of which games receive ports and which ones do not. however, at one point i created a list of which Nintendo games have received ports.
although it may be nice to see Nintendo port Wind Waker onto the switch, assuming they add some feature or content that make the game worth buying again
no one has ever called me a tit before. of course then i have never heard tit being used as an insult. and I'm somewhat disappointed that you made the assumption that i did not know the difference between a port and a repackage.
actually it has two ports. and there are three 3 different versions/editions of it for the GameCube. one of the editions is a bundle that includes two or three different other legend of Zelda games from older systems.
i got the Wii U version for free due to some promotion and i still haven't played it; not the Wii U version anyways. and unfortunately, i forgot what system the game was ported over to.
the Wii U version is just an updated version of the original GameCube version. and the game has been re-released on the GameCube 2 or three time. each re-lease just including a small number of updates and fixes that Nintendo never told anyone about. unfortunately Nintendo has done that with a lot of their games on older systems.
If it does get ported to the Nintendo Switch i just hope it gets bundled over as a collection so then we can at least feel as though we are getting our moneys worth.
and because of Pikmin 3 being ported over, i am starting to feel as though they should port over the other two Pikmin games. the GameCube versions, not the Wii Versions. i think those versions are slightly better and would have a better chance of getting good support for the Joy-Con controllers. and fortunately/unfortunately Nintendo will be porting over a lot more of their older games onto the Nintendo Switch.
unless they do a remake collection, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will not be brought over the the Nintendo Switch. it has already been ported from system to system way to many times already.
and besides Nintendo needs to port Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club over to the Nintendo Switch. right now that is way more important than porting over an old Zelda game that we may have multiple copies of over to the Switch.
I already have a few copies and versions of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and i do not need another.
however, it would be nice to see NES Remix Pack come to the Nintendo Switch, but i have a feeling that when it does, it will only be available through the Nintendo Switch Online services.

hopefully this update did not fix the backwards long jump glitch...
Re: Pokémon Funko Pops Are Finally Launching In Europe, And They're Super-Sized
that Pikachu Funko Pop looks a bit off.
Re: Switch Owner Claims To Have Taken Nintendo To Court Over Joy-Con Drift, And Won
i have not had the joy-con drift issue yet. one of my joy-cons probably has the issue, but since i never use the joy-cons enough, it will never harm me.
however, two of my joy-cons have battery issues. thankfully best buy just refunded me instead of making me go through the process of the whole repair and replace torture.
Re: Pokémon Air Is A Pikachu You Can Ride, And It Launches This November
when i saw the words: "Pokémon Air Is A Pikachu You Can Ride", i almost thought that the Pokemon company decided to open their own airline or at least team up with one.
Re: Nvidia Is Purchasing Chip Designer Arm, And That Could Be Very Good News For Nintendo
for all we know this could lead to the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 or even the Nintendo Super Switch...(lol)
Re: Video: Take A Closer Look At The New Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. System
Nintendo should have included more of the game and watch games (both Mario and non-Mario versions) to the new game and watch system. other than that it is still a must have.
Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About 'Limited-Time' Games From Nintendo?
selling Super Mario 3D All-Stars for a limited time is a bit annoying. I just hope they sneak in some extras into the game that they are not telling us to make up for this.
Re: Talking Point: Can Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit Possibly Be As Good As It Looks?
i wonder if this will support Nintendo Switch Online. just imagine two people racing each other with their Mario Karts on the same track in multiple homes.
Re: Feature: What's The Deal With Super Mario 64's "Shindou Pak Taiou" Version, Anyway?
for all we know there will be some way, possibly a glitch that will allow us to pick which version of the game we would like to play. or for all we know they may have fixed the glitch that allows us to use the backwards long jump. (the horror...lol)
Re: Video: Bowser Joins The Battle As A Playable Fighter In This Smash Bros. 64 Mod
love the intro for bowser. now to add is friends, i mean enemies from super Mario RPG.just imagine super smash bros where all of bowser's minions are included in the game with many of the moving super mario bros levels. even some under water ones. it will be the bowser character pack.
Re: This Animal Crossing Nook's Cranny Set Is Being Officially Reviewed By LEGO
hopefully it will end up in stores followed by many more...
Re: Feature: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch
@whereswarren
i wasn't counting a repackaging of the same game as a port. and i forgot which system that also received a port of the game. of course then i don't always keep track of which games receive ports and which ones do not. however, at one point i created a list of which Nintendo games have received ports.
although it may be nice to see Nintendo port Wind Waker onto the switch, assuming they add some feature or content that make the game worth buying again
no one has ever called me a tit before. of course then i have never heard tit being used as an insult. and I'm somewhat disappointed that you made the assumption that i did not know the difference between a port and a repackage.
Re: Feature: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch
@whereswarren
actually it has two ports. and there are three 3 different versions/editions of it for the GameCube. one of the editions is a bundle that includes two or three different other legend of Zelda games from older systems.
i got the Wii U version for free due to some promotion and i still haven't played it; not the Wii U version anyways. and unfortunately, i forgot what system the game was ported over to.
the Wii U version is just an updated version of the original GameCube version. and the game has been re-released on the GameCube 2 or three time. each re-lease just including a small number of updates and fixes that Nintendo never told anyone about. unfortunately Nintendo has done that with a lot of their games on older systems.
Re: Feature: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch
unless they do a remake collection, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will not be brought over the the Nintendo Switch. it has already been ported from system to system way to many times already.
and besides Nintendo needs to port Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club over to the Nintendo Switch. right now that is way more important than porting over an old Zelda game that we may have multiple copies of over to the Switch.
I already have a few copies and versions of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and i do not need another.
however, it would be nice to see NES Remix Pack come to the Nintendo Switch, but i have a feeling that when it does, it will only be available through the Nintendo Switch Online services.
