Banjo-Kazooie, Byleth And Terry Bogard Smash Bros. amiibo Release Planned For 2021

Well I haven't collected Amiibo in a while. BUT...

Female Byleth is the only Byleth that matters.

Banjo-Kazooie, of course, one of my favourite games from the N64. I already have the big statue from First 4 Figures and the figure from Totaku.

Got the Joker one for my daughter. They all look good but I won't get any others of that set despite being a big fan of their own individual games.

Yup. I blame COVID. If it wasn't for that, we'd be getting both Byleths. Oh well, I prefer the male version anyways.

I always say I'm finished with amiibo and then some cool ones come out. I got Joker and Hero but I may get the whole DLC line of figures.

@korosanbo Well the distinction here is that Banjo does originate on a Nintendo console. Joker remains the only playable character in the entire roster now that doesn't have any of his home series' main entries playable on any Nintendo hardware, including his game of origin. Considering how important Persona is to SIE as a "platform holder" whatever Morita-san said meant, I don't see Persona 5 getting a port to anything but PC.

Also, I'm fine with Byleth only having a P1 amiibo. The P2s were interesting and cool, but was opening a scary can of worms for 100% collectors. P2 Corrin is still hard to come by for those still looking for her.

Banjo-Kazooie looks good.Byleth-meh, just another Fire Emblem amiibo,they all loks kinda samey to me(dudes/girls with swords,just meh).

Yeah! All DLC was supposed to be out by, i think, February 2021... And we are barely getting #2.
And amiibos as well.

@korosanbo Atsushi Morita is the chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment, and the platform holder quote was used specifically in the context of talking about Atlus' relationship with Sony regarding the Persona series.

Also Persona spinoffs on non-Sony consoles have been a thing for like 8 years. Scramble being on Switch without Persona 5 is just like Persona 4 Arena being on Xbox 360 without ports for Persona 3 and Persona 4 despite the Arena games being canon sequels to both, or Persona Q being a 3DS exclusive series of games.

I wouldn't hold my breath at all for anything except a PC port of Persona 5 at this point. Scramble is practically business as usual for Atlus and P5 being PlayStation exclusive did not stop it at all from being successful and bringing new players to the series.

I have a question, if I don’t have the fighters pass, or any individual DLC characters, what do these amiibo do in Smash or does it make any difference if you have the character at all? Mostly want the Terry one because Terry!

The Banjo one looks nice! The original games are classics. Or while they're at it, sort something out to bring Banjo 1 & 2 ports to Switch.

@UmbrageHill each Amiibo will do or give different bonuses based on the game they are used on. And those that has those characters will give extra when using them. aka BOTW Amiibo characters. For those of collectors getting all of them is a worth while investments. They have value in them - once they are no longer made or re-introduced the value goes up. But mine is for collecting and display purpose and sometime opened to use but I will keep them or pass them onto my nieces and nephews to keep. As once they are gone or discontinued they will have value.

If they can't bring over Rare Replay, I feel like $4.99 would be a reasonable price for each of those games separately.

My bf collects every single one of them. But his heart is having him buy two of the banjo (his all time fave series). My heart goes to Terry; flashback to me playing fatal fury at the local pizza hut after eating my Book It free personal pan pizza

@korosanbo PC is an incredibly neutral platform and PlayStation console exclusives like Nioh, Death Stranding (which is an IP Sony owns btw), Yakuza (came to PC before Xbox), No Man's Sky and Street Fighter V have shown up on PC before, sometimes even day and date with the PlayStation versions like in the case of No Man's Sky (before it came to Xbox years later) or SFV.

Atlus has basically done anything in their power to restrict major releases onto a single console but for PC anything goes. It made total sense to bring Persona 4 Golden to PC before anything else given it went from a game stranded on a dead handheld that had been discontinued the prior year, to breaking FFXV's record of having the most concurrent active players on an RPG game in Steam history not counting MMOs.

Same exact thing happened with Danganronpa. Went to PC but hasn't touched a single non-PlayStation system ever. If anything, Persona 4 Golden being as successful as it is will probably influence Atlus and SEGA to do even more ambitious stuff regarding the series on PC in the future like potentially releasing P6 on PC in a similar fashion to Square Enix with FFXVI being a PS5/PC game for the time being. But consoles are off the table. If they cared so much about putting Persona 5 on Switch or even Xbox like it had been done with Yakuza, it probably would've been done already as a tie in to Joker's Smash inclusion, but it's just another instance of Atlus promoting their game outside their own circle of fans like how it was done with stuff like Dragon's Dogma, Puzzle and Dragons, Lords of Vermillion, PSO2 and even their own games with Catherine Full Body, which even runs on the Persona 5 engine.

Just got the DQ11 Hero amiibo. Terry's probably gonna be my next one.

The Banjo-Kazooie amiibo is simply a must have.

@UmbrageHill : Yea, you can use the amiibo of DLC characters without having purchased the DLC. You will only need to ensure that you have the latest software updates installed.

The amiibo can be used as a fighter that learns from your technique either as an opponent or an ally. As its level increase (50'max), scanning it can yield bonus coins, spirits, and the like (from memory).

"Byleth would only be released in the character's male form"

And that's all that needed to be heard. Pass on all 3.

If they did something in other games, maybe. I haven't been bothered about the amiibo functionality in Smash since I tried it briefly in 2014 - prefer to just play the game normally. Got enough amiibo for the sake of how they look as collectables, so only interested in ones that add something I want to a game/games I own at this point. Agree that these look great though.

Gamestop went bancrupt before i managed to get Joanna Dark.

No female Byleth is a disappointing step backward. I have no interest in the male version.

@Ventilator A friend of mine works at EB Games here in Australia, she knew that I was a big fan of Banjo-Kazooie so gave me a phone call when she heard of the Banjo-Kazooie Totaku release. Just wanted to make sure that I knew about it, in case they sold out of them. She ordered it in for me. 😀
As for the First 4 Figure, the first time I heard about it (or saw it) was on here. I knew I had to get it. 👍
My friend has also been able to get me a few other Totaku figures as well - I now have Crash Bandicoot / Conker / Spyro / Sonic.

Going to pick up Byleth, like all the other FE amiboo, maybe Banjo Kazooie, too, if I ever see them cheaply, just for the fun of it

That doesn't come as a surprise, all characters are eventually released as amiibos, but what does it take so long after the characters themselves appear in the game? That's a missed momentum opportunity, right?

They all look great (especially love that Banjo & Kazooie having a Jiggy as a support) but if Byleth isn't getting a Bylass variant, that tells me that the other three DQ Heroes won't get amiibo either. Somewhat disappointing but understandable I guess.
